The kickstarter link don't even work, lol.

I wish I wasn't at work, so I could get on twitter or whatever and start flailing around asking questions. First, I need to change my pants.

An exciting interview with Richard Garriott
Arkhan replied to Arkhan's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
He is from England. He was born in the UK. Granted, his parents are American, he is still from the UK. -
This better be a sequel to Ultima Exodus that involves Bobits and Fuzzies. That map looks so similar, it can't possibly be pointing to anything else. Also, whatever is announced, I am blindly flinging money at like a lunatic .

Ultima Collecting -- I am in big trouble!
Arkhan replied to Albert's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
The first time I finished it, I took some idiotic amount of turns. Over 300,000, easily. I also dicked around ALOT. I mean ALOT. I got the full part ASAP, which made life suck, honestly. I wandered around searching every single tile in all of the towns just incase. I also fell asleep afew times while playing and would wake up starved/dead/back in lord british's castle. It was an awesome ride though. I played it for 3 days straight during the summer i started it, and didn't do much else. I still remember the first time I used cone of death from the back rank and destroyed my entire party. I laughed my ass off for about an hour. What impressed me the most about that game was how the battle screens in dungeons corresponded to how you were positioned in the dungeon. It was like the Goldbox games, but felt more organized. -
http://www.houstongamedev.org/richard-garriott-de-cayeux/ It's a pretty great interview, with photos. It also contains the interviewers extremely awesome Ultima III notebook, in PDF form, for your glorious reading pleasure.

Damn you Avatar! Dammmmnnnnn youuuuuu! -
I could care less about that. It's easy to get that onto a TV for me since I have an upscaler with SCART. The games are programmed to use NTSC, so when you play them on PAL machines, they run slightly slower and dopey. I don't approve.

Apple Graphics & Arcade Game Design by Jeffrey Stanton
Arkhan replied to Allan's topic in Apple II Computers
I can't even FIND an Apple II community. I want to fiddle with this crap I have but don't really know where to go for information. -
It will look equally goony unless you use an upscaler. It's standard def. I play PS1 games through a PS2 and a PS3 on a 55" HD TV. They look better thru the PS3, unless I use my upscaler, in which case PS2 looks way better. It looks pretty dumb through the PS2 without the upscaler, but I kind of just deal with it since it didn't look good in the first place, most of the time.

What is the strict definition of a "twitch game"?
Arkhan replied to Cynicaster's topic in Classic Console Discussion
quick time events are stupid. They're a lame way to try and mitigate cutscene boredom. ITS NOT A CUTSCENE! YOU HAVE TO PRESS A BUTTON. It's like Dragon's Lair except not fun at all. -
Was the Mac LC what the Apple IIGS should have been

Overpriced and dopey? I don't think so! -
Man, Tabula Rasa was going to be awesome and then somehow it got turned into Guild Wars with guns because of NCSoft. I played Tabula Rasa from Beta to Shutdown, and followed it before it underwent it's revamp. It's a shame NCSoft basically hosed him on the game. On the bright side, NCSoft got hosed back when they got sued by Garriott. After that noise, I dumped all NCSoft related games. Screw those guys. Bunch of nimrods. I think he's got it in him to make a new online game that delivers something that isn't WoW. If there's anyone I'd trust, its him. Tabula Rasa wasn't even bad. The crafting system was kind of dumb, and some of the economy stuff was still fleshing itself out... but hey, I don't care about crafting. the fighting/questing/adventuring/theme of the game kicked ass.

Yeah the NMS8250/8280 were pretty big over there with those Netherlandian-Folk. My one friend who lives there suggested one to me. I bought one. Too bad it arrived smashed because the guy packed the box with newspaper to come to USA. -_-; They're OK, except for PAL. PAL is not my pal.

The fact that it's supposed to be for all kinds of platforms (iPads, tablets, phones, browsers) leads me to believe it is going to be some kind of Ville-style RPG. I hope this is incorrect.
