  1. No not really. Theres varied difficulties (thats what the game select switch is for! and stuff!), but what you're asking is if it has a learning algorithm in place where it improves and stores its newly learned approach to the game. The answer to that is nope. Unless I am mistaken... I dont think an atari 2600 cart really has the capacity to have a game and learning AI.
  2. yeah that was a cool game. apparently Im still the only Dolphin fan lol
  3. yeah, but Id like to avoid 6502 assembly as much as possible . Its kind of scary. Though, it may not be as bad for the Atari as it is for the PC Engine and the C64. Thank you for the guide and stuff too people! Maybe I'll come up with a game idea and make me something. I made a Berzerk clone for PC Engine CD www.aetherbyte.com/insanity.htm but, I dont think doing a Berzerk clone on 2600 would really be a great idea, hah.
  4. I was playing WoW, Tron Evolution and FF14 simultaneously because I have problems.
  5. Oh my god...you played those? Very cool. I would buy those games in a heartbeat if they re-released them on PSN or XBL. I would buy them for friends and family. I played those constantly for years in the 90's. I finished pretty much all of them except for Dark Queen of Krynn and the Eye of the Beholder trilogy. My favorite is still Pool of Radiance, I have a bunch of them loaded up through DOSBOX but I dont spend much time in front of a PC. A re-release on XBL or PSN would be a dream come true. Battles required a lot of strategy and would last for hours. Turn based. Great stuff! Classic! THIS. If this happened, I wouldn't be able to enter my credit card information fast enough. I would be buying the stuff day one. Each installment could be $20 each, as long as they got rid of the code wheel crap and integrated the text into the game. That alone would be worth it. The gold box games were THAT DAMN GOOD. They're also easily better than every piece of software which has carried the D&D brand name since then. THIS AGAIN! Curse of the Azure Bonds w/ updated graphics would rule. Hell I wouldn't even mind another Baldurs Gate style one. The mouse driven 6 character adventure one, not the dumb hack/slash crap from PS2. and yeah, if that doesn't happen, put the Capcom beat em ups on PSN. Those were awesome beat em ups. We don't need another generic button mash game with D&D on the box. Dynasty Warriors: Faerun would be pretty funny though.
  6. FF12 It was like playing an offline MMO, complete with a cast that includes a whiney 12 year old, some muscular douche, and a chick thats more badass than the main hero guy. and then the license system.... you have to earn points to unlock the ability to wear stuff. Why. I heard the original game centered around Fran (rabbit chick) and Balthier (sweet pirate guy), and marketing changed it all around or some crap. I kinda wish they hadn't since Fran and Balthier are the only two characters in the game worth paying attention to. There you go!
  7. hahaha. awesome. I wonder how epic the actual act of stealing it was. I picture a guy in a pointy hat running out of a building holding it above his head, screaming the entire time.
  8. Scott Pilgrim! Its like River City Ransom! also, I dunno if you'd like it but this games on the PSN store as a PSX import: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kxvvD528lY Money Idol Exchanger... its like magical drop + money. Its addicting like crack.
  9. yeah, steering arrows into peoples eyes is still the greatest thing ever as far as modern games.
  10. Bas is the only person you should buy MSX cables from, and floppy belts. He ships worldwide ( I live in Ohio). I've bought tons of stuff from him over the past few years.
  11. my friends and I once sat and played the game in his garage start to finish, cracking up the whole time because we gave everything stupid names. The entire game is frigging random and obnoxious.
  12. lol, am I the only Dolphin fan.
  13. Oh, nice! I was watching cave-in videos on youtube last night. It's not my style of game (I like shooters!), but it's definitely nice. I know someone who would really like it, and I'll be sure to tell him about it. I'm kind of pumped now. I want to finish up some of my PC-Engine projects and shift attention to the 2600. This seems like a nice (and better) dev community from what I see here ! I'm going to go ahead and assume the Batari BASIC IDE is good stuff too, and should be used?
  14. I was playing Atari 2600 for the first time in awhile, and went "man. wasnt there some kind of BASIC setup for this thing to make games"... so, I found Batari BASIC, went "hmmmm", and now I am curious, is it good stuff, or is the 2600 another one of the "Dive into the ASM, or don't bother" deals? The 2600's video hardware scares the shit out of me, so I am hoping batari is good stuff. Its like 6am so I should probably sleep instead of rolling around the forums going WEEEEE!, so I plan to grab what I can demo wise and see what else its all about, but I was curious about peoples personal feedback.
  15. I think I just peed myself. why don't other consoles have things like this. Thank you, author person.
  16. I think it looks frikkin lame. *looks at zenwalk settings* I use "Fixed" It came with the install, and I love it.
  17. Im sitting on Rizon and Efnet in various channels. Is there a fun Atari channel?
  18. I just played No Escape for the first time last night, I'd like to thank that game for keeping me up for like 4 hours straight. Cosmic Ark, Demon Attack, Atlantis (One of my top favorites for 2600) and No Escape for me. did Imagic make a bad game? I sure never saw one.
  19. well, Pitfall 2 has the best music probably, but as far as plain SFX go, I like Dolphin, Solaris, and Demon Attack
  20. I have. I had some dick wrap MSX games in one sheet of newspaper, and some tape, and send them to me from the netherlands, in the middle of December. Nothing says [sarcasm]"Merry Xmas to Me!"[/sarcasm] like a stack of soaking wet, crushed up gameboxes sitting on my porch in the snow.
  21. Gunsmoke Bionic Commando Kid Niki Clu Clu Land (This game is kinda weird and you might not like it)
  22. My favorite is Dolphin.
  23. I'm a sucker for plain ol DOS and it's many variants.
  24. I suggest the Commodore 1084S-D1 model I have one: Which often has NES, PC Engine, and MSX2 computers hooked up to it... and Amigas! You want ANY of the 108X models really... though the original 1080 is mono, so you will have to figure out a stereo sound solution... 1084S w/ the din on the back is alright but I have noticed that these models seem to break fast. The 1084S-D1 and P1's seem more solidly built. The D1 is pictured.
