  1. I am a bit of a sucker for the MSX models. Next in line would be the Atari 800's though.
  2. I just got a 520 ST w/ monitor + FDD dropped off. I took it out and stared at it, and now I am not sure what to do! I have 0 games, 0 softwares, 0 disks. What should I do next? If there is an answer to this already, I'm sorry. I'm a jackass and missed it, lol. What I am looking for now is a way to write disk images to floppies and try em out on the computer.... music programs, and games (RPGs preferably).... so if there is a good place for this sort of thing, do tell. I want to see what this 520 is all about
  3. nice! yeah, it def. matches nicely plus you can get more adaptaplugs and use those things on other systems too!
  4. yeah, the alternative is the slow-boat. USPS prices went up too. You should see how much it is to ship a 12lb box to australia, lol
  5. a turbo grafx 16 you can find stateside for around like 30-50$ depending whos selling, but then if you want to get CD games you have to go through all the work to find the add-ons. ebay should have those reasonably priced.
  6. I linked to a 1A one http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3875403 << That one. Awe yes. I see now. Will head over to RS tomorrow. Thanks, -Lee no problem! Its all about playin that Duo-R again.
  7. I linked to a 1A one http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3875403 << That one.
  8. Did you look at Rising Stuff though? They have much better prices than eBay, even when you take shipping into account. Right now they've got a Core Grafx II for around $60 (shipping included). yeah i saw they have good prices there, but its almost as much for shipping as it is for a pc engine!!! seriously though where else have you guys seen them that cheap? anywhere in the us, so i dont have to pay that crazy shipping? USA based? Good luck. Check PCEnginefx.com and see if anyones selling. International shipping is a bitch. like I said, Risingstuff.com is your best bet for anything
  9. I guess I should be more specific. I have a "PC Engine Duo-R"> I am nto sure if the PS is the same as the US Turbo Duo. In any event, this is good information. I will take my PS to RAdio shack and see what I can get. Unless anyone knows where I can buy an OEM PS. Thanks alot folks, -Lee Ah you have the same Duo as me! Go get the exact adapter I listed dude! I can't remember what adaptaplug went with it, but I can verify that the one I linked to works. I bought a few as backups. The radio shacks by me have that one i Linked to in-stock, and have all the adaptaplugs on hand, so if you bring the console in, you can test them all out until you find the one that fits. I want to say you need an H-plug. But dont quote me on that I've had my duo-r in use for awhile now with no problems using that adaptaplug/power adapter combo. Plus the color kinda matches the console almost.
  10. My boxed duo-r w/ original receipt and 39990 Yen price sticker was like, 86$ and it came with some games and a Tennokoe bank card! I also got an avenue 6 pad, a duo rx pad, and ave 3 pad, and some books with it. Are we talking price before-shipping or after? The duo-r cost about 70$ to ship, making it 156$ in the end. The trick is to not buy them on ebay and poke around. Have you ever been to RisingStuff.com? Its a nice place. They got some unboxed PCE hardware ass-cheap right now for the holidays
  11. Even CIB thats still alot. You can get a boxed duo-r for that price!
  12. I dont even own an odyssey but I think I will buy this game.
  13. Core Grafx for 100$? Thats just idiotic! shame on anyone who charges that much for one. when I said you can get a PC-Engine for 40-50$ tops, I specifically meant PC-Engine (Core grafx), not Turbo Grafx-16. Turbo Grafx-16s can be had for 30-40$, and yes like you said, modded up to play Japanese HuCards too.
  14. For just the hucard playing one? Like 40-50$ tops.
  15. Genesis PSUs wont work in a Duo... the connector is different! they work in a plain Turbo Grafx though.
  16. Theres no difference between a PC Engine and a TG-16, if thats what you mean. What you might mean is the PC Engine vs. Super Grafx. The Super Grafx came out after the PC-Engine, and is the one with double the video-stuff.
  17. I was kinda meh'd by it for the price since I blew through too much of it in one sitting, but I tend to do that. I really like what they did to it as far as powerups though! It beats the hell out of mario galaxy, and in 10 years will be the classic gaming equivalent of Mario 3 on NES
  18. I have 2 of these and they work perfecto. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3875403 I wish I could remember what connector you buy for it. If you go into a radio shack, they have the danglers that you can try out so you can know which one you need for sure. Just make sure you match the polarity properly. Compare the instructions that come w/ the AC adapter, to the sticker on the duo PSU.
  19. I did about the same thing in Sa Ga 1 I got everyone in Lunar 1 to level 99 if that counts for anything
  20. As far as the 16-bit era goes, I have always been partial to the TG-16. I grew up playing Vigilane, Bonk, Silent Debuggers and Neutopia, alot. Some of the best home-arcade ports ended up on the TG/PCE. Parasol Stars and Cadash should be high on your get-and-play list for sure.
  21. Insanity: The first Turbo Grafx-16/PCE CD game since 2001 is pressed, and ready for purchase! you Atarians will love it and all of its Berzerk remake goodness. It has all the gameplay of Berzerk with enhanced graphics, music and sound! The voice taunting is still there too, since it wouldn't be the same without it. http://www.aetherbyte.com/insanity.htm for more information!! There is a playable demo available as well! and if you don't want Priority shipping don't worry, I'll work with anyone that wants first class or something of that caliber! priority is just safer and faster!
  22. That sounds like an emulation issue. My dagger fall runs on my dos box (as in, real DOS computer!) smooth as hell. I seem to recall a similar problem trying it in DOSBOX, along with some other games, hence me digging out my 486/dx and doing it right. ideally yes, daggerfall runs similar to doom. Think Ultima Underworld http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMIfqH3GNW8 see
  23. Man. you do NOT ship retro computers and pack the box with just popcorn. Thats just stupid. Any time I have ever sold old computers I either wrap it in bubble tape, center it in the box, then my favorite part: Slice those foam pool noodles in half and trim to make a border around the object, dump in a bunch of popcorn after this, and wadded up news paper, repeat the noodle process on the top and then seal it up with tape....lots of it. or if I currently have some, I use hospital grade packing squishy foam. packing popcorn. Bah. Did you pay with paypal? They usually help me out when I buy crap that shows up damaged since I show pictures of how crappily the box was packed up.
  24. Ys (no comma! ) was awful on the DS. It was a goony-controlled port of the REALLY awesome Windows PC one. If you want to play the DS one, I suggest you skip it and get the Ys 1 and 2 remake on PC instead. If you can read Japanese, the Saturn one (nearly same as PC one) is a good option. As for Ys in general Ys 1 & 2: Either the PC Engine or the Windows PC/Saturn one... Ys III: The PCE CD one is king, with Genesis being right behind it. Ys IV: PCE CD Ys V: SFC Ys VI: PS2 or PC Ys Oath in Felghana: (its a remake of Ys III) Great on Windows and anything else new Ys wise, youll only be finding on the PC.
  25. Grab it. I got it for 30.00$ on clearance back when K-Mart by me was going out of business/moving... Id pay 30$ for it today if I saw it and didnt have it! addicting and quirky game.
