  1. Also if you enjoy machine language programming you can swap the cpu for the more powerfull 6309 and have the extra instructions available etc
  2. Hi , the coco1 has a empty rom socket so you can upgrade to extended color basic. Its a 24 pin rom ( eprom) but an adapter can be made for 28 pin eproms. There is a disk drive emulator called coco sdc that runs games etc from sd card. There is a vga board that be put in the video chip socket , upgrading to 64k ram is not too hard t
  3. Coco3 has a rgb connector underneath, Composite video (red rca) , and mono audio out(white rca) and a rf out on rca ..the composite out does not look great on lcd screens though.. but is not bad for games. The reason to convert to scart if because scart to hdmi is a easy to find converter and cables to go from cocorgb to scart are easy to make or purchace .
  4. I really like the melted keyboard style, its slick and quiet .. very nice.. also this model has most of its ic's in sockets , very easy to work on.

    Coco3 game

Thanks for the intrest in my project, my game is in the stlye of leisure suit larry type of adventure , where you gamble to win money , and try and date the ladies of your choice, lots of humor, many mini games etc.. i hope to have it ready for release within 3 months, it will be a cartridge game with a 8 megabit rom and mp3 music. I will also post a link to my youtube clips of some of the games work in progress..
  8. Im writing and programming my first real video game , a modern gambling / dating sim adult humor game for the coco3 !
  9. A 64k Coco2 is a great machine for learning machine language and you can even run the 6309cpu in there which makes it more fun for ml .. but i prefer to write code on a coco3 emulator for it because of the clear 80 character wide screen and fast compiling.
  10. Im not talking about a vga converter.. this is a graphics chip replacement that outputs true vga There is a thread somewhere here about this..i use a cm 8 monitor on my coco3 its a very clear rgb but i will get the new vga hookup
  11. Coco3 is really sharp on its rgb monitor , the composite really sucks though.. cocoman.biz sells a rgb to scart cable that you can hookup a scart to hdmi wire to.. its not hard to make if you like doing that,, also zipster will have his coco gimex with vga hookup ready for general public soon..
  12. Neat little machine , and a they just made a little device that plugs in and gives you sd storage and extra ram i might have one for sale..
  13. Nice score, i used one of those in high school, had one for a little while in early 90's
  14. If you get coco eprom paks you should get ones with the a14 wired to the cart connector not a manual bank switched one so you can use it on coco3.. I was able to 3d print some cases too..
  15. Once you get the adc , you can download a ton of games in one shot.
  16. Coco3 is really capable.. it's a supprise how much more it can do running the same cpu as coco 1 & 2
  17. I would buy a rf to composite converter on ebay rather than dig up a giant vcr ..lol
  18. As for the cable , some look correct but have the wire reversed so if you dont get the right cable you will have to cut and reverse the wire
  19. You can setup the config file to autoboot in composite . I have a pi3b

    Coco2

I had to replace my power supply capacitors on my coco2.. many machines from that era are having their caps go.. I would say , if you have a super nice coco in box with manuals etc all original maybe dont break the sticker if you don't have to.. Otherwise open it up and have some fun ! I did !
