[Which classic computer was/is most fun to collect for?]

My vote is for the coco computer.. there is a strong community with a weekly youtube show.. weekly game challenge,  you can find coco stuff all over the place..even Ebay  prices can be reasonable.. its a fun and easy machine to hack.

2nd is the msx ! I knew nothing of these systems untill recently and there are many models of machines great colorfull games ( but the carts are pricey ! )

I just got into the msx computers in 2020 very capable machines.,, i really love the casio mx 10 and my panasonic msx a1. The games are really fun and 8 look foward to doing some sprite graphics.

Well i used a composite - vga converter from amazon for 20$ ..there must be lots of vga monitors around.. this can be done under 50$ !

Im still having fun hacking the vga colors using a binary counter counting the hsync pulses..

 This is a pretty clear monochrome image on my coco2

You should really check all the capacitors as that effects the voltages.

Having open vga wires ( r g b ) its easy to manipulate them..this is still a monochrome ( black and white )signal leaving my coco2

Het guys i figured out a cool hack to get your vintage computer to use a vga monitor..

I took out the rf circuit out of my coco2 and was able to restore the video using the luminance (y) wire coming off the vdg , and using a inexpensive composite to vgs converter (<25$ ) on amazon my computer now has adjustable color ! And a much clearer picture than rf !

Due to a small accident with the 1372 video signal chip i had to revert back to the (y) signal on the vdg now its run thru a vga converter so i can at least choose a color

Thats what the Coco3 did to the coco2 ..same cpu ..just helped unleash its potential..

Alot back then was a $$$ factor.. the ti994a had 16k on the video side and only 256 bytes on the cpu side.. it was a $$$ limitation..

Im sure the designers might of liked 64k each side .. 

  But your correct in implying a speak and spell with a 64bit arm processor could do great things too..😁

I finally got my coco to use wifi printer.. it sends data thru the serial port to my built in raspberry  pi and i use a python subroutine to print

I really enjoyed the scrolling effect thru space with the background  moving at a diffrent rate than the foreground..great colors too.. really shows off the coco3's abilities !
