That's a cool little project. I might have to build one myself if your project turns out well.

I'm wondering what they did to mess up the paddles so badly in so short of a time. If they found the 2nd port to be broken when the system arrived, and were sending it back right away then the paddles should be fine, right? Did they have a marathon playing Kaboom! before they mailed it back or did the paddles get ruined bouncing around in the mail because they poorly packed them?
I'd ask about that too. At least you can salvage the joysticks. -

I never buy cartridges with stickers on them for that reason. I don't want any glue on my label afterward, and I don't want to risk ripping the label either. That drives me nuts when game stores do that. IMO it devalues the game.

The original Atari hands down.

Al is a fast shipper, and his cost for shipping to Canada was excellent. Everything was packaged well and arrived in perfect shape. The products are all high quality. So far I bought Marble Craze, Gunfight, Thrust+, Crazy Balloon, and 2 Stelladaptors. Now I just need all the rest of the other games.

I ran into yyzzyy on Monday. I got into a bidding war with him on several auctions, and thought that I might be getting shilled. When I looked at his feedback and saw how much he was buying in a short time though I was amazed. I realized he's probably just a rich newbie trying to build a collection fast. By the amount of feedback he has gotten I'd think he's good for his money, but I just hope he owns everything he needs by now so that I don't run into him again.

Man those are some crazy carts.
Is it a common problem with these handles breaking though sku_u? I can't tell how solid they are from the pictures. -
-
Lots of buyers biding with low feedback too. Shill biding?

I have as many Missile Command carts as I do Combats. They're pretty common too.

I liked your auctions... until I saw the $25+ to ship to Canada for a single cart.
UPS shipping will bring you no bidders from Canada unless it's an extremely valuable cart. Actual cost with USPS airmail for a single cart is approximately $1.10. I wanted a few of your carts too.

More than I thought it would too, but I'm still new to collecting. I've never seen one CIB on eBay before now. At least I have one loose.

Joey's got some great ideas. I like being able to download games into it too. Otherwise I'd like to see new boards produced for the original Coleco joysticks with gold contacts, or new joysticks altogether like Atari's Flashback II. The most important thing is to work out contracts with the Coleco homebrewers so that their games are included.

It's a PAL release. When you seach through the rarity guide select Europe or All under the region, and then type the name. It's listed here.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8226088801Not mine. Looks nice, but a bit beyond my means at the moment.
Beyond my means right now too. Damn if it doesn't look nice tough, but It's already gone past what I can afford at the moment. A while back someone posted a picture of 3 Subterranea's CIB from their collection.
I think it was Video Game Addict IIRC. I've noticed that Subterranea's seem to be going for cheaper on eBay lately though. I'd love to have one complete. One day...

Did 3DO's have serial numbers on the bottom? It probably came off the line so fast that they didn't have time to put the serial number on it either (which is probably why it's not pictured in the auction).

I second the vote for Wizard of Wor. Lots of flicker there, but still a fun game.

Better to stay away from a seller like that anyhow. Half the auctions I see listed as "untested" are probably broken to begin with. However I sometimes think that some are from people copying auction listings because they are not sure of what to say. They research eBay to see how much to list for and see lots of systems being described as "untested". Their system might work fine, but they figure that they should list it as untested if other people are too. Real follow the herd mentality. Perhaps they are worried it will get damaged in the mail and they are trying to cover their own asses. I don't know. It makes little sense to me as you'll get better bucks for a proven working system. Altough IIRC mcgrail0007 said most of the systems he has gotten over the years that were "untested" worked, but Colecovisions were notoriously bad. I would chalk this guy up as to being "Untested and Broken" though.
