I just wondered if they did anything consistent other then misprint labels.
-
I'd be pissed off too if someone was using my name and photos like that. I do hope those patches are in good shape for crunchysuperman though.

I thought all the late Atari releases were open ended. I won this off of topol777 the other day, and was surprised to see it had a sliding door. Is this normal for this cart? Incidentally I was surprised and impressed by how good of shape it was in. I think Adam's crappy camera screwed him this time. I'm sure more people would have bided if they could have seen the condition the cart is in.

All I can say is try it on another 2600. I've had that happen a few times with Imagic carts, particularly Demon Attack & No Escape! While my primary 2600 played hundreds of other carts fine it hated these for some reason. After much cleaning, wiggling, and turning the power on and off I could get them to work maybe 1 out of 3 times. On my secondary 2600 they work fine everytime. These are both four switch woodys. Then on my secondary 2600 Asteroids doesn't display correctly. The middle of the screen is moved over one tab width to the right. Every other game works fine, and I've never seen another game do that. I tried several Asteroid carts as well. They all play fine on my primary system. In the end I just use two systems to play all my games.

Battlezone, Chopper Command, Defender II, The Earth Dies Screaming, Sinistar, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Does Solaris count? I can't tell if it has a radar or not. I've never been able to figure that game out.

I think you did all right too. With a mint label though I don't think I could sell it. I'll never really understand why Waterworld sells for so much anyhow. I see at least one a week on eBay.

Pimpin' my Colecovision Star Wars - going cheap!

United States only... -
He has only two feedbacks though Sly. Our forums are open, and if someone were going to make a scam this would be the way to do it. Start a new account, list a rare cart that's a forgery with some common auctions knowing it will get noticed no matter what, and wait for the bidding war. After they got your money they run away. If it were a seller with huge amount of feedback to protect I'd feel more sure about it authenticity. I hope I'm wrong about all this though and the winner gets a genuine cart.

Sadly he's one city over from me -- I could take a cab there for less than it would cost to ship that. Except he charges $6 to pickup, and there's always the chance he couldn't find it when I got there. 976288 At least it might be faster!
-
I do that too. When I find a seller I like I'll go back and check their auctions repeatedly to see if they've got something I'm interested, just because I know that if they do I know I'll get a good, honest deal, which is so much easier than wading through oceans of overpriced shipping and handling fees, bad feedback, scams, misrepresented items, and a billion "*RARE* LQQK!!!" listings for common items that completely invalidate the meaning of the word "RARE" for the rest of his auctions -- even for the ones that really are rare. 976284 Yep, I did list some people in the clean list of recommended traders. Out of that though I could count on one hand the people I buy over and over from. The one (and only) seller off eBay I even buy blindly from is Atariaction. I absolutely trust Mike's grading system, and I'm very fusy about labels. His shipping also is damn cheap for Canadians, which makes up for the high prices of his common carts. I figure it's a win-win situation. He doesn't have to pay to use a photo, and I pay a little extra for the common cart, but I know it's going to be mint if he says it is. The shipping is low and I'm happy in the end that I bought from him. the best thing is that my first transaction with him started to go bad. A month went by and I hadn't received my carts. This was within Canada shipping too! Finally they did come, and when I looked at the parcel I realized that he had indeed shipped them the day after I paid so that the fault lay with Canada Post. Now I buy from him all the time, because I know he's honest. Just goes to show how opinons can change for the better.

Do you believe me now? Same exact font and style. Obviously this is not fake. 976282 I believe the one you had Sly was real, but this one could have been made off of your photos. It wouldn't take much effort either to doctor a clean scan of a mint Atari cart to make it look like a Sears as there's very little difference. If I found one in the wild I'd be the happiest man on the planet, because I'd feel more certain it was authentic (not to mention a huge score).
-
My god that shipping is high. I hope he at least drives across country to your door.

Unfortunately there is more than a few! In the end I really just stick with my good sellers list. Finding a good seller is like finding gold. I'd rather throw a few extra bucks to a seller who I trust and support than someone who's trying to milk you for all it's worth.
-
I second that! I know there is a way to filter out certain sellers while you are searching, but to listing them each time you search sucks and you are limited only to ten. No way eBay would ever give a blocked sellers option I think. Showing less listings = less money in there eyes. So where's the love for providing a better service? I only use eBay because I have too. It's the only way I can find the older games I want cheaply, but after going through so many bad sellers I start to question it.

I might have missed that if I bidded, because the layout is so busy. His prices are high anyhow so adding 3% for Paypal seems unjust given that.

Santas Helper (Holiday Cart) SOLD OUT
Omegamatrix replied to neotokeo2001's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I think you did a very good thing in offering more carts in the past, and I'm sorry to read that some people hasseled you about it. Even though I lucked out and got a cart in time it wouldn't matter to me if more carts got made later. I didn't buy this for reselling; I just wanted to play it as it looked very fun (and extremely cool). I appreciate the time, effort, and cost you have put in these neotokeo2001. It makes for a very merry Christmas indeed. I don't know if you want to release this rom as you might get more nasty emails, but I'm going to stick my neck out there against those people who have been emailing you to say I'd be glad if you do. If not then hopefully a re-release could be arranged in the future for those that didn't get a cart. Anyhow now I'm rambling too... -
What system do you play the most right now?
Omegamatrix replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
2600. It's mostly all I ever play. -
It went from gold to bronze... Congrats AtariAger! You've been looking for that a long time I Imagine.

Santas Helper (Holiday Cart) SOLD OUT
Omegamatrix replied to neotokeo2001's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Maybe just a problem with Paypal or your server? I didn't use his checkout myself as it wouldn't let me add in an extra $2.00. I went the other route and sent money through Paypal with the email address listed in his checkout slip. -
combat and manual for starting at 1,000,000.88

That's okay Al, I got a picture label here with your name on it, shipping included. And only half the price. -
Local pickup available out of a back of a van. Meeting place TBD

It's too bad this game is a little bit on the rare side. It really is a good game, and it's shame it's not more available to everyone. I don't think it's as hard to get as Subterranea though. New score 66,425.
-
Never played this game before, thank God for emulation and Stelladaptors! Edit: 44,225 on my second game. Good choice for a game also. I thought my joystick broke until I figured out holding down the fire button keeps you in one place and engages autofire. You can then toggle the direction you want to shoot. I hate reading instructions, but it's probably in there somewhere.
