Still hopeful the Jets will return. They have that new stadium. i'ma die hard Sens fan now though if the Jets ever returned I'd be torn. My husband (the Leaf fan) can't stand I cheer for the Sens as it is! Go Bombers go though!I was born in '79 so I don't know when/where the game was bought. We moved to Ottawa in '84. We could have already had it, or not. I just remember growing up playing my dad's atari and coleco. I think he might have bought it at a garage sale, which would explain the mark on it. That's all I know!
Cool, I hope they return too, but Hasek and Heatley will be enough to take Ottawa to at least the second round. I got to be honest, my real interest was in to see how far West the Puzzy carts came. I hope you have a good auction and make lots of money, but even more so I hope AtariAger wins it. I've bidded as high as I can afford right now, and it'd be nice to see someone from AA snap it up. Cheers.

I'm from Ottawa so I'm assuming Ottawa. Can't say for sure, I was just a kid. My folks are from Winnipeg so maybe they bought it there?Winnipeg, eh? Well I'm sorry we ever lost the Jets. See how Phoenix does tonight against the Flames. Where were you when you first got the cart then?

Then I saw the post on here asking about authenticity of the other one available. I figured people were interested....Nope. Nobody here interested. Nothing to see really...

What city was this cart picked up in? If you don't mind me asking.

About a year ago I bought a computer and discovered emulation. Soon I wanted to collect a few games for the NES and SNES that I enjoyed playing, and that I never owned but wanted as a kid. Then I found AA. In the beginning I was going to have a single 2600 and about 30 quality titles, because my cousin had one and I was always jealous (I figured the top 30 games would be all I need). Now I'm at 133 unique titles and three systems for the 2600. I bought a Coleco and about 30 games as well. Tubs to hold my carts and joysticks have appeared in my living room. I have more carts to clean then I have time. Just what the Hell is happening to me!?!

Next i have to try the genesis, i hope the improvement is as dramatic as the nes was.I for one would be interested to hear how it turns out. My gaming experience right now is limited to a 27" TV. In the future I will of course upgrade, but until I read your post I had it stuck in my head that only the newer games with more powerful graphics would look good on a bigger surface. I guess I thought that the older games would look worse by their blockiness being exaggerated on the big surface where as the newer games would showcase their detail. In retrospect I realize it would be easier to react quicker if your character was bigger on the screen, and getting higher scores is always more fun. I’m glad to hear how enjoyable your experience was, and for myself I can't wait until I can afford a 52" screen.

You'd get more if you shipped to other countries.

Well done! It was fun doing all that voting, and I would say the list came out pretty good. Most of those games will be in everyone's top lists, but of course the rankings would be different for everyone.
My top five out of that list:
1. Jr. Pac-Man
2. Circus Atari
3. Indy 500
4. Yars' Revenge
5. Asteroids

I actually run across some unusual finds from time to time, but I have to look hard, there are so many aware collectors in Brazil right now. What I get, I like to share with my friends and fellows at AA. To collect is to share, in my point of view. That's awesome man! I like people like you.
I look forward to seeing more of your stuff. I think that it was you who had that Activision 2600 system a while ago IIRC. That was a very cool find indeed.
-
Cool find! I almost went blind looking at them though. You find a lot of interesting stuff down there in Brazil, TomBrazil.
We almost have no pirate stuff up in here in Canada ourselves.

I had a seller ship me a boxed Atari in just plain brown wrapping paper for "extra protection". He promptly taped the paper to the box all the way around, and took a lot more packing tape to the box openings to make sure nothing would fall out. I think he threw away the inserts to fit all the games in the box as well. Luckly most of the tape came off without too much damage. I think half the people you buy Atari stuff from on eBay don't play games, and don't consider boxes to be valuable. Some other sellers seem to be aware that they could be, or actually are damaging your product by shipping it poorly packaged, and don't really give a rat's ass. That's what pisses me off the most.

I chose Asteroids over Missile Command.
-
Yars' Revenge hands down for me.
-
I think Solaris is going to take this round, but Phoenix is cool as well.
-
Jr. Pac-man, although I love Indy 500 a lot as well.

-
Circus Atari, with Adventure a close second.
-
-
Nice score man!
Rom, I thought you weren't going to play blindfolded and one handed anymore?
-
Tough question. I think you just know if you are an elite gamer/collector or not by how much time you spend with your hobby, and how far you will go to complete a collection. When they put you in rehab to get away from eBay you're halfway there.

-
Yars' Revenge. One of the coolest games of all time.

-
I had to go with Raiders of the Lost Ark.

-
This one is more even. Phoenix or Missile Command? I chose Missile Command.
-
Jr. Pac-Man hands down.
-
I still gotta go with Circus Atari!

I voted for Excitebike, because after playing Motorodeo I feel that Excitebike could be a good possibility on the 2600. It could really be stripped down, and still be a lot of fun to play. Secretly though I would kill for a Metroid game. I would love to see it pulled off, but I just can't imagine a 2600 version having a big enough world to explore. I hope someone proves me wrong. Please, please prove me wrong.

Earliest game blew you away graphically?
in Atari 2600

I'm the same as NE146 to say Smurf was the first game to blow me away. It just seemed to be so much more advanced then the Atari. Other notables from later yeats include seeing Star Wars: Rebel Assault II on a PC after a few years of not playing games. The last thing I saw before that was Super Mario World and I remember thinking "How the hell did this happen?". Otherwise it would be the first time I saw Super Mario Bros on the NES, or Resident Evil / Tomb Raider on the PSX.
