1. Something must have got lost in the translation... LMAO
2. Impressive. You've managed to retain the tempo, and added some flavor to it. I played Metroid for days as a kid. One of the best things about Metroid was the score, but after a awhile it would wear on you with it's repetition. Your version sounds really, really good so far. It's more interesting. On a side note would there be Boss Battles in the game? There were 2 mini-bosses, plus a fake mini-boss, and a final Boss in Metroid. Bombs and missiles are a must for this game. When you were morphed into a ball you could lay a bomb, and open new passages previously unknown. Missiles were used to open certain doors and to kill tough enemies. That enabled the programmers to block off certain areas until you acquired Missiles (bombs as well) for the first time. How about toggling between missiles and your beam with the fire button on the second joystick? A pause would be good too. Maybe the B/W Color switch? Only one beam was available at a time in Metroid, so to change beams you had to go back to the power-up location and grab the beam again. This allowed you to go from Ice Beam to Wave Beam, and vice-versa. Long beam always stayed with you IIRC. While I'm laying it all down I might as well say this. If you could incorporate Screw Attack that would be a dream.
3. I'm looking more forward to Skate or Die myself.
4. Doesn't matter, since he only lists the USA as his shipping destination (despite stating he does ship to Canada elsewhere) it won't show up on eBay.ca if you are only viewing items "available" to Canada (which technically this auction is not). Blah. But yes, that was a pretty killer deal. 961774 Yeah, sorta what I meant in my broken English. I only search through eBay.ca, and some auctions don't show up even if they ship to Canada, because of the shipping destination. I just don't have time to search through eBay.com as well as Ebay.ca though. Is that your cat Mindfield? He looks like he just sucked a sour candy or else he's telling you what he think's of his current brand of cat food.
5. C'mon Mabb96, Show me the good stuff! There's got to be a warehouse with sealed Atari BMX Airmaster's in Venezuela somewhere.
6. Unless it's his auctions of course!
7. That was a sweet auction! Would have gone for a lot more if I saw it. My filter doesn't pick up all the actions on eBay.ca.
8. I use enipe too, and never really have investigated any other programs. It has worked well for me and seems more reliable then my internet. Ever lose a bid because your page wouldn't refresh? These days I'm happy to pay a quarter and go do something else.
9. Sure you're unhappy with the smell and slow shipping, but the seller has given everything to you for free. I'd take him on his story as most sellers will just tell you to piss off and dare you to leave a Neg before they leave their feedback. I've myself have bought lots that smelled horrible too, and can understand how that pisses a person off. Everyone has a different sense of smell though, and some people can barely smell at all. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, and try to work it out before I leave feedback. If the seller fully refunded my money though I'd leave them a positive. What more can they possible do to make amends? They've lost everything in the deal.
10. Yeah it's fun. I picked up my copy a couple of weeks ago. You'll spend lots of time trying to get through the narrower passages just to see if you can. Try it on an emulator first if you're not sure. I say it's a great game.
11. Did anyone else get spammed by him yet? I got the following PM through eBay: Hi...I see you bidding frequently on similar items and want to let ya know that I have a juge sale coming up ending on saturday nov 12th and beginning the week before...rares , completes and common games for mostly atari, some coleco and some intellivision with an auction or 2 going off every minute and shipping specials will be in efffect. Just thought maybe youd like to check it out even if you didnt want to buy. Thanks and take care. I've never gotten a message like that from anyone else on eBay before let alone someone I've never dealt with. His layout hurts my eyes.
12. Im in the area code 920, I live in Green Bay. But its not me... 958775 Suspect number one. ^ J/K
13. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's supposed to pull to the left. It makes it more challenging. Otherwise those River boards would be cake. Tempest 958834 You're right there Tempest. BTW has anyone got past mine 5 yet? I got killed by the fireballs right away! I wonder what's next.
14. Telepathy is a good game, and I wish someone with some skills would hack it to stop the controls from pulling to the left side. At least it's playable without the Mindlink controller. That's a cool label CPUWIZ. Somehow it looks familar.
15. I didn't see any grey box for Canyon Bomber on the 2600 label variation list either. I think the grey boxes appeared for the late Atari re-releases only, but I'll leave it up to the more informed to verify. You probably have a '87 or '88 Canyon Bomber there. I'm not sure of the Yars' Revenge at all. Nice score if it is and you got a late Canyon Bomber though.

Better to stay away from a seller like that anyhow. Half the auctions I see listed as "untested" are probably broken to begin with. However I sometimes think that some are from people copying auction listings because they are not sure of what to say. They research eBay to see how much to list for and see lots of systems being described as "untested". Their system might work fine, but they figure that they should list it as untested if other people are too. Real follow the herd mentality. Perhaps they are worried it will get damaged in the mail and they are trying to cover their own asses. I don't know. It makes little sense to me as you'll get better bucks for a proven working system. Altough IIRC mcgrail0007 said most of the systems he has gotten over the years that were "untested" worked, but Colecovisions were notoriously bad. I would chalk this guy up as to being "Untested and Broken" though.
17. That's a cool little project. I might have to build one myself if your project turns out well.
18. I'm wondering what they did to mess up the paddles so badly in so short of a time. If they found the 2nd port to be broken when the system arrived, and were sending it back right away then the paddles should be fine, right? Did they have a marathon playing Kaboom! before they mailed it back or did the paddles get ruined bouncing around in the mail because they poorly packed them? I'd ask about that too. At least you can salvage the joysticks.
19. I never buy cartridges with stickers on them for that reason. I don't want any glue on my label afterward, and I don't want to risk ripping the label either. That drives me nuts when game stores do that. IMO it devalues the game.
20. I must admit I've only ever fired this up in an emulator and played it for a few seconds months ago. Man what a great game I've been missing out on! I'm putting in my token post of 13,050 now in case I don't have anymore time to play.
