Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

I'm using this link https://www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6 Which shows that of the confirmed cases, 121,000 or so, there have been 4,373 deaths. -

Okay... So 3.4% of the total people who get sick die from it. That's not a better picture. -

That's the same with every thing in life. We don't know the total number cases of influenza either but we still gather it's 0.1%. The mortality rate of car crashes are calculated using detected crashes, not total number of crashes. What if someone crashed their car in the mountain and was never found...? I'm not sure we can use the argument that "most cases go undetected so don't worry." -

That guy has been on the Amico subreddit for a while. He did defend you from Tony, I think he just gets easily frustrated and panics quickly. His thread prompted me to make this thread: The Paprium guy is a lost cause. It's hard to know who he is or what his agenda is. -

Fun fact, the original abandoned concept for Splatoon was a world of Robots who used squirt guns and water to damage each other in fights. They all wore different rain coats and water proof gear to protect themselves. Could be a very cool concept for Amico. -

Crowdfunding a brand new console platform isn't ever going to work out. In the end if you want to launch a new platform it has to be invested in and grown by people who are experienced in the industry. If they aren't experienced in the video game industry, they at least have to be very experienced in some kind of technology platform. Even with 8 million dollars, Ouya was a miserable thing and it was because of the people developing it and working on it. All the money in the world wouldn't have done anything for that group with that idea. -

Yeah, unfortunately even though a lot of chinese companies are back to work things are not getting much better. -

Right now there's no conceivable way they will deliver 15,000 units of anything anytime soon. They posted pictures of their "production line" in some chinese backroom and they had maybe 4 or 5 assembly tables. From my time working with a company that did a lot of production in Ningbo for the circuit boards on boat engines and aquatic vehicles, let me tell you... Those 4 or 5 tables aren't making more than 50-100 units of anything. -

Well, I asked that guy to produce some logs so we could be more transparent about what went wrong, without revealing personal information about himself, and he never replied. He should easily be able to post the date of the PayPal escalation claim, the 4 or 5 emails he sent to the correct address, and snippets/copies of the conversation where Tommy told him to delete his comments. But he hasn't done that yet. -

It's highly unfortunate that yet another Retro games console is falling into the "silence" void. It gives upcoming brands like Intellivision a hard time since Tommy is having to rise up from the ashes of all the scorched reputations of these companies. I hate that Amico is getting lumped in with stuff like Chameleon, Ouya, and probably now Polymega, etc. because these were all such strange ideas to begin with and are nothing like Amico. It also definitely affects people's perceptions when Tommy asks if people are interested in pre-orders. Also it's just really sad to hear that the Polymega efforts are not really going anywhere, as well. I always want more hardware to succeed especially when it comes to the retro gaming arena. -

For declarative purposes, can you post a copy of the case ID from your PayPal? Or any info without revealing yourself? Maybe the date or confirmation email date of the case being opened? That way no one can dispute any of your claims one way or the other and we can keep it all out in the open. In my frustrations with refunds in the past I have made similar claims like "I opened up a case last week" or "I sent 10 emails" when in reality I maybe opened a case a day or two ago and sent maybe 2 or 3 emails. Just want to keep things transparent. -

Just an update guys - it's been 2 hours since both parties were fully refunded. I'll be back in an hour to let everyone know they've been fully refunded for 3 hours. And so on. -

I feel like this needs to be pinned somewhere, so that the next time someone complains about customer service or says customer service is "non-existent," they can see people get the literal CEO of the company responding to them directly and insuring their refund is done. -

Much better, rational, fair, positive, and your personality comes through. Turn it over the live audiences. Make sure you link to Tommy's question on the Atariage thread (this thread lol) in the description or whatever though. -

Well maybe you will think on this and act again when VIP opens. -

I understand. Tommy is always emotional because he wants his own product to do well and he doesn't like people dragging it for negative reasons. A ton of people (myself included) accused him of potentially crowdfunding with his original FE offer, but it sold out so quickly it would make sense to open up more pre-orders. Even if he is using the money for funding, if people want to pre-order they can, he's not saying "This won't get made unless you pre-order" like typical crowdfunding endeavors. -

So are you just upset that other people have a chance to pre-order VIP? Tommy asked you some genuine questions and I am curious as well. Do you think opening up an additional 5200 pre-orders appears closer to crowd funding? -

Oh he's a MASShole alright... 🧐 I definitely recognize the attitude in his post though, you're right! Few of my friends from New Hampshire and the Boston area remind me of him. But in most cases that's going to hinder good discussion here. Just because of the, uh, particulars of how some forum goers are here. I won't name any names but there's already been some bacon sizzling after Atari Creep posted in that way. -

The virus may limit production but surely not prevent it from happening entirely. What flippant response are you referring to? -

You're fine man. No "hugging and kissing" needed lmao. I was just saying that tone is what's important here and that particular tones are just going to go around in circles and accomplish nothing. We all have our own opinions on tons of the Amico videos on Youtube and we post them here, including Tommy himself. Sometimes some of our opinions are harsh, sometimes they're wrong, sometimes they're right, etc. -
