I like how not only did I summon Bacon Gif Man, but he also had to be quick to remind everyone "Seniority!" 🤡 -

I said the attitude isn't going to work out because it's going to create drama. I think you're right in defending yourself. But when people (like you) start saying stuff like "shut up and think before you let it spew!" it kind of calls into question a few things about their negotiation tactics. It's not anyone's fault they draw the wrong conclusions from someone's Youtube video that says "Both are CRAP?" and they're fully entitled to think and post their opinions about that. A lot of times someone's opinions aren't based in fact. We deal with that a lot on this thread alone 😎 By all means defend yourself with any attitude you want, but take into account when you put yourself out on Youtube to be judged, not everyone is going to get your message or agree with the way you deliver it. We come here to spew opinion. Everyone can defend themselves from that opinion but telling someone to shut up who may have had the wrong idea from a video is why I called you out. -

I'd love to welcome you here but I'll just go ahead and let you know that this kind of attitude isn't going to work out very well on this site. -

Considering Chinese factories pay their employees pennies or dollars a day in some cases (and much longer than 8 hour shifts) and many more provide dorms for the employees to live so they never leave, I would say the vast majority of companies using chinese labor are supporting forced labor for nearly slave wages. I believe the average can be $200 a month... Which means the low end is FAR lower. That's the world we live in, and why a lot of manufacturing needs to leave China. It will be more expensive, but if that's the price we pay for non-slave wages, so be it. I am worried about the void that may leave for people in China who desperately need any work they can get, though. -

Agreed. It should be posted to social media outlets this time from the get go since it's a VIP and not Founder's. -

Agreed. It will depend heavily on timing. I think if Tommy were to announce a second run of 5,000 VIP units, he would need to do it at the right moment. This second run needs something to set it apart as VIP edition and not just be a repeat of the same marketing style for the Founder's. It also definitely needs that week build up again with video reveals, etc. Maybe more Earthworm Jim animations. -

I believe Tommy has said they will bill you when the product is about to ship. -

I believe doing another pre-order is a good idea. But I have no idea how to determine proper timing of that. -

I'd say that history repeats itself. Usually, but not always, look at the past if you want to predict the future. Humans seem to follow a fairly similar routine, even when we were living in antiquity. But hopefully we can make some ""new"" history that isn't so repetitive down the line. Hard to break free of that mold. -

"When you have a business based on a vision of the future, rather than the present, understand that the majority of your critics will likely be looking from the perspective of the present. They see now and they have a certain belief how now will influence the future." -

Day 1 patches and large amounts of DLC were not at all common before mobile gaming really took off and "facebook" tier gaming. In the past we'd get giant content updates with expansion packs, which are all but gone now. A game like Diablo 2 getting an expansion like Lord of Destruction which added tons of new levels, abilities, classes, etc. is unheard of. Nowadays you'd have that broken into 4 DLC packages in a "season pass" with one part of each of that expansion pack for sale for 5.99 or 9.99 or whatever - but buy them all for a discount! I believe even with PC gaming and MMORPGs, it wasn't common to have to log in and patch your game files. They would release updates, but usually that coincided with new content in exchange for your monthly fee. I think there is a lot to be said for a game console that delivers feature complete games without day one patches that fix a ton of stuff or add DLC. The absolute worst offenders are companies that put DLC on disc that you pay to unlock. I give Nintendo a bit of a pass because at least Amiibo were cool collectibles, and not just empty DLC - but it's still kind of bad that they put a ton of content, usually cosmetic, on their games you couldn't access without a 15 dollar action figure. -

Very true! A more limited release perhaps will still be just fine. Also gives the team time to feel out the market and see how things react. -

Overuse of prescription drugs is common everywhere and all over the planet now. Regardless of gender or age. As a personal aside, I don't drink alcohol but I see alcohol as a pretty big problem as well. We can't fight off prescription drugs use if we encourage everyone to knock back a few (or a few more) when they're older in every society. Buttttt this also has nothing to do with the Intellivision Amico. -

This thread has changed without Tommy around 😆 Some uh... Very interesting opinions and views here. -
I like how Mr. Gaeta thinks if they start production on Wednesday, 2/26, they can start shipping Monday, 3/2 Then changes it to... 4-6 weeks? If they started full production today, not pre-production, it'll take weeks to finish and weeks longer to ship and weeks longer to arrive 🤡

It is quite funny when you think about the design engineers working on a black box design. But again, as you can see, many if not all console design engineers came up with black rectangles. This one's just a little more plain. -

We may as well just make one blanket post asking if every single Atari and Intellivision game is planned. -

Although some of them had cooler molding and different vent design, we are looking at an awful lot of black boxes in game console history haha. -

To some extent - but also, many consoles were plain black boxes well before the Xbox Series X. The Neo Geo, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, GameCube, Dreamcast (sports version) were all slightly varied black boxes. Genesis Model 1 less so but the Model 2 was very black boxy. And the variety of slightly different black rectangles. ColecoVision, Intellivision models, Atari's "Vader," TurboGrafx-16, Master System (a bit more of a trapezoid... Rhombus? But still rectangular). -

Yeah, that's what the Intellivision III was going to include standard. But these aren't true joysticks, they are just sticks on top of a D-Pad. -
