I have a similar problem. Refurbing an old VIC. I am using a composite cable from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M0FXP64/ but I am just getting a buzzing noise. The cap doesn't "look" bad. I haven't removed the bottom heat shield to look underneath. Would you suspect the cable or something else?
