  1. 1 button games that are played in 1 minute? My kind of games. Wait, "specially designed for children over 4"?... The best football game I have played: 77 Space shooting where you want the shots to be just a frame or two faster: 69 Submarine shooting where you're thankful it allows you fire 3 torpedos at a time: 32 Maze shooting where you want turbo: 22 And they say mini games are a new fad. This one looks like it would be a lot of fun head to head on original hardware. Of course, another example of those damn side buttons giving you pain.
  2. Wow, the uh, story for this one in the manual, huh... 4,360 Difficulty Level 1 Cave 6
  3. That's crazy! I've seen carts with phone numbers on them, but ssn?! If someone finds a lost game, how would they even return it? Go to the police and have them tracked down by social security number? Wow. So stupid, haha.
  4. I seriously don't understand how everyone is doing this. Well done!
  5. I second this. 35,310 Stage 6 Such a good game. Never played this for points- makes those hidden treasures more appealing. I remember getting to Dracula when I was younger, but my game always froze up at the end. Sounds like an excuse, but I distinctly remember getting to the end like 3 times with it freezing. I haven't played enough this round to make it that far, but if it happens again...I have a second cart now to try it out on, hahahaha.
  6. Improvement, tho I'm nowhere near the competition. I'm getting 47k in Astrosmash, so either the scoring climbs higher there or somethin'. I am enjoying using the paddle tho! 3,630 Astroblast
  7. I much prefer smashing astros to skiing. I also like it more than Astroblast (although I love playing with the vcs paddle). The score in this one either climbs faster, or I'm just that much better. 3,630 in the atari version, and... 47,490
  8. Reversing the directions for the dpad definitely felt a lot more natural. I spent less time thinking of the controls and more time just intuitively skiing. Somewhere in my gaming past, my brain went from "left goes left and right goes right" and started being ok with weird inverted controls. Now my hands just go that way on muscle memory. Improved time on downhill, so that's cool. Would be a lot easier without all those trees in the way. Who put them there anyway? 🌲 90.4 disc, downhill, slope 15
  9. I was just thinking, I still could hold it upside down haha. But switching to dpad (I usually do try both) and even remapping is a good idea. Ok, I’ll give this another go, if just for the experiment.
  10. Haha, I would if I wasn't emulating it and using a Dualshock3 😆😰 some of these games I know would be a lot more fun on my console.
  11. The graphics and visual effects in this game are top notch! I also like how it has two different screens. I'm glad you can't accidentally shoot the accelerator ring. 16,250
  12. Finally tried out Skiing. Can't say I'm feelin' it. I have about as much control of my skis as I do my little frogger in Auto Racing 😝 It's also a constant battle with my brain trying to convince my hands that the controls are not inverted. Practiced a little on an easier slope, but man, this is a game you seriously have to practice at on different slopes and speeds to get good at. Great job guys! 100.2 - disc, downhill slope 15 258.8 - disc, slalom slope 15
  13. Join in! The scores here are really impressive, but it's fun to throw in for a few. Speaking of which, I gotta get on the board...
  14. Astroblast is over in the 2600 Paper Medal Tournament right now. 'Bout to sit down to play both. Astroblash? Astrosmast? Whatever, the Atari version doesn't have hyperspace.
  15. @Vocelli What's the rule for using an Atari Flashback? I was gonna try seeing if my emulator would accept a mouse when I remembered that the flashback 7 had paddle games. Low and behold, it has Astroblast! Of course I prefer original hardware, but when a friend gives you one for free..hard to turn down. I should've been looking at that for other games I didn't have *smack*. Well, if it's allowed, I'll submit my first score. Better than my original week's posting, at least! SO much more playable with paddles over a Dualshock 3. And might I say...enjoyable?! Might not make it to the top 4, but I'm really glad I can give it the ol' college try
  16. Ah crud. I found this one nearly unplayable on emulator. I'll give it a go, but fully expect to be bottom of the barrel. I may as well play Astro Smash over on the INTV HSC right now, which I have on cart, hahaha.
  17. Pros: Concept, music (!!) Cons: Jumping, bats!!!!!!!!!! Can't manage to get to the top before a damn bat swipes my crown. And when I manage to avoid them, I run out of time, and it's back to finding the flame. I want to finish the first level, but between the bats and the jumping 😠 At least falling from a high height doesn't kill you, cause that would be its third strike. I managed to run out of time instead of falling into fire, so I have that going for me 🔥 32,020 Level 1
  18. Here's a game where I had no idea what I was doing until I read the instructions. Once I figured out what was going on, pretty cool! I really like how the music plays an integral role. I had the golden crown once, but then a stupid bat swiped it. Spent some more time looking for the flame spirit and ended up dying by fire. Typical. Will have to give it another go. 9,810 Level 1
  19. I really should have tried hard again, it looks pathetic. But I won't turn down 3 points, hahaha.
  20. Very well played! My eyes are bugging out of my skull from playing all night. That was an intense back and forth. Congrats!
  21. I played a game on hard. Didn't do so hot. In case I don't get another one in... 300 Hard
  22. Lives get lost so fast by wave 9 and 10. I knew that if I was able to hold on just a little bit... Didn't play yesterday and only got a few games in tonight, but man am I happy. @Lauren Tyler you really pushed me! Whoever wins, amazing job!! 76,450
