Man, this game makes me feel inferior just thinking about it. But I second the comments above. Also, the computer is really good at using the "must jump" rule to its advantage. It baits you into having to jump it and sets itself up for a double jump, or even worse, jumping your king. So think a few moves ahead, don't get discouraged, and don't feel bad hitting reset early on if it's not going your way. I don't have much luck setting up double jumps for myself, but I have been able to trap a few of its pieces. It's a nice "got you!" moment

Can't say I'm a fan of Ice Climber, never liked the jumping. I do like that you don't break ice when doing a running jump, really helps with the low score challenge. Don't know how much more I'll be putting into this one, too frustrating for me 😕 HSC: 19,340 mountain 6 LSC: 1,050

Don't know how I did it, but I kicked Checker's butt. Wow. Not the best score here, but I'm pretty happy with myself It's a pretty good feeling when you have the computer on the ropes and it just keeps moving its only free piece back and forth as you get closer 😎 Checker: 12

Oh man, here's another I grew up with. I would always come back to this (and the Genesis version) despite the growing frustration it would inevitably bring. Not a game I focused score on, so this will be a new challenge -

Beat the first boss! Didn't hurt that I had the little helper dude, shot it right at the center of the alien, and let it blast away as I worked on the other parts. Don't know if I'll play much more, it did get a bit frustrating. I like all the aliens in the second level tho. 43,900 -

Good eye! And the game becomes a lot more playable on A!

Yo! Not to be a creep, but is that a Howard the Duck movie poster I spotted in the reflection of your 2600 HSC photos? 🦆 😆
-
LOL Yes it is. That wall is our 70/80 Movie Wall, we picked 3-4 Movie Posters we liked, and then all the rest of the wall is LP Soundtrack Albums.

Haha, funny!
I actually play mostly at Twin Galaxies(as you know, fakecortex), and there we watch others videos to specifically "scrutinize" them, make sure all is done properly.
I definitely notice things "in the shot", and don't feel nosy about it at all-in fact, I often put an Easter egg in my videos that only one or two people will understand, and it disappoints me if they don't notice!
I was doing some emu stuff once, required recording my entire desktop-
I had a row of(empty)folders-
Porn
Nasty Porn
Porn you can go to Hell for
Lol, no-one noticed, can't win them all, I guess...

^That's Hilarious!
Meanwhile, the real porn was in a folder marked Family Vacation Pics. Nobody's gonna click on that.

TG-16/ PC Engine High Score Club 2020 Dead Moon

Forgot I hadn't submitted a score here yet! I like the frantic shooting and how you can get power-ups that shoot in lots of directions. 268,300 -
Beat my (admittedly low) goal score and subconsciously let down my guard. Once I crash it's like a downward spiral. Glad to get a new high in time 😅 32,258

I like Kool-Aid Man a lot, wish I had the cart or a cx40 for the emu. Feels like a game that would works best with that over my ps3 controller. 27,900 Picnic controls worse with ps3, understandably since it's made for the paddle. Glad we're using that larger flyswatter here, hah. 4,170 I like how Frogs and Flies is timed. Not many games like that. 22 No improvement with Checkers, unless the goal is to make me hate checkers, in which case I'm earning that patch. I should go to the library and study up 🤣 🤣

Once I got in the mid 20s, I just wanted to hold on to break 30, but the scoring is slower than ya think. BTW, this space bus gets horrible space mileage if it needs to fuel up every 9 seconds. And correct me if I'm wrong, but do all the fuels go away once you pick up the last passenger? It makes crashing and having only a few left a real pain b/c I run out of fuel before I can make it back to the station. Maybe I need to pass over a few lonely guys and fuels and pick them back up at the end if I end up in that situation. Might give this another go. Or I might torture myself with some more checkers 😆 29,477

Yo dude, sorry for getting back to this late. Got some sweet closeups for ya!
-
Holy mackerel everyone, have you read the checkers manual? It says the computer "thinking" time on expert level is 2-4 minutes and the average game time is 2hrs or more. Thanks for not suggesting that setting Rog! HAHA. It also refers to the computer as "he" instead of "it", so weird. I've always loved the notes and hints from the programmer in the back, but for this one, Alan Miller just suggests going to a library. Hilarious.
-
Hmm. First time hearing that, but checkers is one of those games that's sure to have a million regional variants. Seems like Alan Miller just had it out for me 40 years ago. In related news: 7 whooooo!
-
Well, I'll say this- I feel like an idiot getting my butt kicked in checkers to a computer. This "must jump when you can" rule is clown shoes. I've been forced to jump with a king and then have that piece jumped in return, something I'd obviously not do in real life. I'm trying to make this rule work towards my advantage, but grr. Another swing and a miss from Activision. Can this company do anything right? 🤪 🤣 Oh, and when I first started playing, I thought it was broken b/c the screen turned black when it was "thinking" 😆

I'm with some others here, don't really care for this one. Landing that ship in the beginning of each stage is a sob. Getting this score in now so at least I'm on the board. 18,304

holy moly 4 games and i only own froggies. i gotta stop working and start playing more!

I'm intrigued 🤔 I've been loving the bonuses and would welcome a variant that offers enough change to shake things up (not just a difference in point distribution).
