  1. As soon as the first note of this game started my fiancée went "NO". Mute all the way. And I scored a lot higher hahaha. 28,590
  2. Totally agreed. I really enjoy playing (tho it could use some music) but I keep finding myself wanting to nudge the table. My goal is to make it through and past the 100k-150k period where your flippers become invisible. I was surprised to read that in the manual. It just says "disappear" which made me first think it was ridiculous b/c you'd be dead in the water, but saw in a video that they're still functional 😅
  3. I'm gonna check out the manual, but I think it's pretty much WYSIWYG for this one.
  4. Harder to control Jr and manipulate snapjaws than in the NES version, but I am enjoying this challenge a lot. I like playing video games in untraditional ways. I like how Mario looks like Crocodile Dundee...although this came out first, so...inspiration? 🤔😄 38,300
  5. Always enjoyed Pinball for a quickie, but I feel like luck plays a big role in the game. You can get caught in a nice spot with that 1000 point slot at the top and rack up points, then be completely helpless on the bottom screen if you don't have the bumpers. 82,850
  6. Please, help him save his papa! Popped this one in just a little bit ago during the DK Jr. week of the NES HSC. Definitely more playable than the 2600 version, haha. I like the different nature of this challenge!
  7. Forgot about the bonus, sweet! That patch will always be my goal.
  8. Agreed Biff, a bit stressful. When it all comes together, satisfying. Sat down today and kept beating my high each game. Went till that trend stopped, hah. 24,835
  9. You know what they say about Joust: You don't play it...you live it. This one is a masterpiece:
  10. I just realized that I coincidentally wore a duck hunt shirt today. It's like I have espn or something.
  11. After going through a number of winged thinged games (we'll see if they show up here ) I'm satisfied with my count on Deadly Duck. If you squint, that's 6 dragonflies + 4 ducks for a total of 10 things with wings 🦆 Can I just say @Vocelli, that was the most fun I had not playing Atari today 🎶 It was like a video game scavenger hunt. Looking forward to kooky future bonuses
  12. Don't those ships count as things with wings? 😆🤔
  13. WOW hahaha. King straight out the gate? Funny bonus, I'll have to scour my carts. I can't believe I don't have Joust Another emu week for me.
  14. LOVE IT! I want this cart so I can play like that! hahaha.
  15. I see that all the time for games of the era. It's like, games glitch, nbd, that's why we have the "reset" feature!
  16. I noticed that part in the manual too! I read it and thought, if they need to put a caution in there, can't they just program it differently? I like games that only return to the title screen when you press a specific keypad button. There's 12 of them there, take advantage!
  17. I want to go into each new level with a clear plan, but it's also fun to wing it. At least I have the first few mazes down pat...sort of. Gettin' a little better... 14,549
  18. Pro tip: No. 3D gives you double clouds and a headache. I also spent way too long trying to get the power glove to work. I knew I had it "functional" years and years ago, but no luck now. If I ever want to have it cycle through the soundtrack while steering me off road, I'll reconsider 😑 I then gave it a shot with the nes advantage like the kid in the commercial, but this isn't the right game for that in my opinion. Went back to the original controller and did my best to make it through a song without a crash restarting it. Went and surprised myself. Made up for the double clouds. 20,382 Course 3
  19. I meant with the laser. I was only using dynamite before and had a few games where I ran out on level 7 or 8 and thought I had to reset. Dumb dumb. According to the manual, dynamiting a wall gets you 75, but saving it is 50, so the benefit is not wasting a stick by setting it too far away I suppose. There are some sections where running away is tricky or setting it against a magma wall is hard, so laser could be good there. I liked the game a lot, just wish the controls were a little different. I'd like to get it for the 2600 now that I've played this version. A little backwards, yes, but part of the excellent Activision lineup.
  20. I only have this one on CV too. Looking forward to seeing how this one plays 🕹️
  21. I just realized you can blast through the walls 🤦‍♂️ 39,085 Level 9
  22. Bonus points to anyone who has this kid's game setup.
