Those patches are the coolest thing. I love how Activision did that. Even tho I don't have any (physically or score-wise I think), they're always my target score.

Taken out by an invisible armada. I don't know how you guys do it, especially on original hardware. I can only play this with my ps3 controller. It's those side buttons, ouch. Would be a good game to use an atari joystick with. It's a shame the INTV didn't have detachable controllers...just to switch things up. 11,800

Ms. Pac-Man: Holy moly everyone...my wrists. Lost count which stage I got to (I had plenty of ghosts to worry about, hah), but I think at least the 10th random. I had a nice amount of random bananas and pears (and lots of cherries there too 🙄) and more than one close call that I really don't know how I survived. Don't know how long I played for, but it felt like one of those endless games. Nothing like those who are playing Pac-Man for 3+ hrs tho haha. I still can't beat my high there. I'm very pleased with myself, especially b/c it was my personal best after the 70k that I posted earlier. No incremental improvement, right to doubling 😁. The high levels here are definitely easier than the arcade jr boards. Not to say they're easy- says more about the arcade difficulty, lol. 145,650 random level 10th+? Note on stuff from the instruction manual: 1) It says there's an end of game cartoon- I'm calling bs on that. I feel cheated! Haha. 2) It says the fruit are randomized every 2 levels. I think this may be accurate b/c I remember having two levels in a row of bananas, cherries, and pears. Not 100% sure tho.

I forgot I had a VCS strategy guide book! The Pac-Man section is funny. I like how they rip on the quality but still have to give strategy. Took pics of all the pages for us! Ready for a bomb of photos...

I was explaining to my fiancée about the horrible collision in pac-man and how it doesn’t even seem like the ghosts are touching you and you die, to which she said, “They just scare Pac-Man to death.” So that’s what I’m going with. When I think that, it reminds me to never get too close to a frickin ghost, even when you think you should be ok. I don’t have a pattern, just slowly getting better at free-play and predicting the ghosts’ movement. 7,604

I prefer original hardware too, and I find myself playing more in rounds for games I have physical copies of, but I also like checking out ones I don’t have. I got into the HSCs to play more of the stuff I have, but I’m glad to be checking out those I don’t. Kind of surprised I didn’t have this one, especially since it was released twice hahaha.

It's a real mind twist when you go from playing games where pressing direction buttons moves the player and here it moves the tiles. So many deaths just trying to get used to the controls. Looking forward to getting my physical copy! 7,892

Keep getting closer to finishing this stage, but man it's a killer. I wish that you would lift off faster and stay in one place when not moving. Trying to slowly go down into a screen is tricky. 33,975 level 8

Understanding that it is not the arcade game when it comes to (well, a lot, lol) but especially the ghost AI. I'm not having a lot of luck clustering the ghosts together, but I stay patient and go for what I can. I also found that Blinky (red, but who knows in this version since there's a green ghost haha) is faster than usual, especially when you're eating dots. Usually that slows you down, but here, it may as well be an instant death with Blinky on your tail. I try to clear out as much as I can before going for the power pellets (actually a tip in the manual) b/c of the slow speed while eating dots. It'll then give you more space to chase ghosts and run away from them. I wanna beat my score, even tho that'll make it harder for Stargate bonus points 😅

Love this game! It gets rough down there, and it's over too quickly, but it makes you keep wanting to play and get through that cave just a little smoother each time. 27,700 level 7

I played a little, liked it, but haven't gotten to sit down with it for long. I did however just buy it off of ebay; first time picking up a game online specifically for a hsc, or in general, in a while. It's a no brainer to love activision, so I figured why not.

It's fun to learn all the "new" parts that keep me on my toes. Like how if you're eating dots, Blinky will catch up to you like no one's business, a lot faster than the arcade. 70,930 2nd random (pretzel, orange)

Considering how much I disliked atari pac-man through the years, I'm very surprised by how much I enjoy this ms. pac-man. Nothing will touch the arcade ms. pac, but there's lot here to like. We'll see how long it takes for me to eat my words, but I'm liking the controls, maze differences, and how the points are the same as the original That is all.

Hey Al_Nafuur, what's the name of that book? I love checking out old strategy guides. That pattern is for screens 5-10, how's it working on the first few? I'm trying it out myself- at least playing and referencing the map at the same time adds a new level of challenge, hahaha.

WHAAAAT?!?!?! Do yourself a favor and play Baseball Simulator 1.000. Special powers, a park in outer space, and great music. My fav baseball game and one of my favorite multiplayer nes games. If you liked vs baseball, pull your socks up high, b/c they about to be blown away. Respect for matching the title screen high in Golf. I was very proud when I accomplished that!
