  1. Considering how much I disliked atari pac-man through the years, I'm very surprised by how much I enjoy this ms. pac-man. Nothing will touch the arcade ms. pac, but there's lot here to like. We'll see how long it takes for me to eat my words, but I'm liking the controls, maze differences, and how the points are the same as the original :) That is all.

I did like Baseball a lot very well done

WHAAAAT?!?!?! Do yourself a favor and play Baseball Simulator 1.000. Special powers, a park in outer space, and great music. My fav baseball game and one of my favorite multiplayer nes games. If you liked vs baseball, pull your socks up high, b/c they about to be blown away.

Respect for matching the title screen high in Golf. I was very proud when I accomplished that!

  3. Dang Tempest, you always come hot out the gate. I'm almost through the first course. Took my time through it and trying to learn when to turbo and when's best to break vs. lay off the gas. What's really rad about this game is the ability to switch music during gameplay. Great tunes in here.

I did enjoy playing the JPN version with my 3-D goggles though as they're MUCH better than the red/blue glasses the US version used.

Oh man, I wanna check that out! I always thought it was neat to include the 3D, but my eyes don't always agree.

  5. OK finally sat down with the manual, tested out all the control variations, and got to sink some quality time into Space Hawk. The scoring system is neat and I like how it gives you your peak score, so that you're not entirely screwed when you dip. I can see how people can play for a long time here, I'm just not at that level right now.

  6. Mmm...video wafers. The hit detection in this game really throws my arcade pac-man instincts off. Getting used to the crazy ghost "AI" and how they don't reverse on energizers. Score increases so slowly! There are some awesome scores here! Don't know if I could go for 3hrs tho...hahaha.

Leaps and bounds over vcs pac-man. Actually fun, I'm surprised to say. I'm an avid arcade ms. pac-man player, and having to change up strategy and expectations is challenging, but welcomed. I really appreciate the change in levels here.

  7. I usually stay far far away from this pac-man port, but I'll be sinking some more time into it now. Ever notice how when movies would have video game sfx it was usually this? Anyway, workin' on a good starting score to submit, in the meantime, enjoy these classic commercials!

I die when the little girl says, "Those are supposed to be the ghosts going after Pac-Man." Yup, supposed to be alright 😆 (actually, besides from the flickering, which was horrible with my headache earlier, they're not half bad).

And of course, this gem with the boys in the locker room...

  8. Wanna get some extra work on those later levels or practice on that crazy level 1 boss? Here's a level select code my big bro wrote down in the manual! Note that "B" is not on the SMS controller (I called him out on that, haha), and actually either button 1 or 2 works. Enter this at the title screen.

I checked out gamefaqs, and there was another code for level select there too, but it was slightly off (I submitted a correction). Alternatively, you can press down + 2.

  9. I'm having so much trouble on stage four, I'm surprised that I was passing it a while ago. Between the snakes and the sinking turtles, the timing doesn't even seem possible at times, even tho I know it is. All said, still fun, and so much faster than the Intellivision version. I enjoy that one, but playing them both side by side recently has really shown how this one shines. I'm ducking and dodging in and out of traffic, and even backtracking, at high speeds that I just couldn't do on that version. Funny enough, my CV high isn't much more than my INTV, go figure.

  10. Breakout game here. Not too much dodging, but a bit more of waiting a fraction of a second to decide if I should punch high or low. I also pretty much used strong punch exclusively, unless I needed him to back the eff off fast or if he just needs a tap to fall into the manhole. I'm happy to say that I lost my first life on round 26, but on 27 I was up 2-1, ran out of time, and the police rolled by... and picked me up! I read the manual wrong b/c it says the player who was pushed back the furthest towards the edge of the screen get picked up, and I thought it was whoever was down more in "screens towards a manhole" number. Bah.
