  1. Not a glitch so much as you weirdos doing better than the game was designed for. It only has 2 digits, so it's displaying other characters when you get to 100 and above. Quality control was not a big priority for the Coleco Intellivision developers... 🙂
  2. I think it's that balance between adding bullets, fending off ducks, and trying to get pipes that I can't quite find a balance for. And of course doing all of the above when you can't actually move where you want to be.
  3. 34,930 Hell of a game, but those red smart bombs give me the fits!
  4. Then how the hell do you survive that many rounds of it? I hesitate to ask because it might make me play more instead of moving on to something g fun like Beamrider... Lol... 🙂

  6. Finally had a little more success. Fun game, but stresses me out 🙂 22,634 - game 1
  7. Completely agree and being able to replay the higher levels would help me get over the brain freeze that sometimes hits me when I'm part way through a level. I'll zip through levels when my instincts are working, but then sometimes I'll wind up just going back and forth over the same stretch while thinking to myself "what the damn hell do I need to do to get to that section???"
  8. That is a lot of ducks... dawdling a bit there hoping for bonus bullets, eh? 🙂
  9. Wow, wow, wow! We have ourselves a Coleco ringer in the house! Lol. 🙂

  11. Agreed, definitely my favorite version of the old school Space Invaders variants. The invisible targets and weapons variety (and kamikaze saucers!!) help distinguish this one from the pack. I personally don't find the enemy size to be a problem, just means you must knock off 3-4 columns as quickly as possible, then it's perfectly manageable. I do still have a sweet spot for the original Space Invaders arcade sound effects though. Very much burned into my brain along with Asteroids, Pac Man, and Tempest.
  12. Any suggestions on how to control this sucker? My biggest stumbling block is inability to do small moves to line up on the edges of the pipe wheel. If I'm off by a tiny amount, I can't move a tiny amount to get on target, I have to do big movements and just hope it comes back in the correct spot. Using jzintv and have tried with both Flashback controller and keyboard, both seem the same.
  13. As if that weren't bad enough, it'll also buzz at you for restarting the game with the disc instead of a button. I'm still going with the "You're not playing on a ColecoVision, fuck you" explanation. 🙂
  14. Wow, what a delightful book, thank you for sharing!! While some of the tips are a little obvious, the narrative sections are good fun and the author clearly spent a lot of time with each game. Great stuff!!
  15. It's like a whole different game when you use all the controls! Trying to keep pace with 1/10th @gezkc score, but he's not making any it easy... 😉 17,453 - game 1
  16. I love the error buzz if you have the audacity to try and start a game with the disc. Gotta love that user friendly interface, as if the developers wanted to be very clear in their message: "You're not playing on a ColecoVision, fuck you."
  17. It may not be the best version of Carnival, but it's still Carnival and quite fun. You just have to work around the glitches and movement issues. Certainly not nearly to the level of The Game That Shall Not Be Named.
  18. Yeah, I was definitely better off with overlays when I was using Nostalgia emulator before I moved to jzintv... Lol. That said, I always RTFM, so no idea why I didn't this time. That will definitely make the game considerably more fun and relaxing. I was wondering how the hell you were supposed to use the deputy hat to catch someone when they start you running immediately into it. Lol Anyway, thank you for the observation, much appreciated!
  19. Well. Er. Ahem. That explains a great deal of how folks are getting better scores and will be far less annoying when I'm on a collision course with a bandit. RTFM! Reading is fundamental! Stay in school, kids!
