  1. Gone for now, but we'll never truly be safe... Not sure dual action would benefit much on this one since keypad isn't all that necessary compared to something like Cloudy Mountain or Deadly Discs. Space Hawk is an excellent choice for HSC. Not one I would usually spend much time with, but really different mechanics and a learning curve. Blistered my thumb already, but loving it! 🙂

  3. Oooh... Been over 30 years for me on this one. I'm probably remembering incorrectly, but isn't this one pretty much playable indefinitely? I seem to recall the difficulty plateaus... Guess we'll find out! 🙂

  7. Otters always come from behind in the direction of flow for their lane. Stay on the front of whatever you're on and you should be okay. If midway between two turtles, jump to the front.
  8. My uneducated guess would be they are non-persistent and are recreated when the enter the screen new and possibly have a chance of coming in as the sinking kind? I'll have to watch if the sinking ones always return as sinking ones.
  9. I'm 90% sure I was on a solid turtle since I rode like 3/4 of the screen, didn't have a log in the upper left, rode off screen (which is a lazy habit anyway, I should be punished), then came back on and died when the turtles went under.
  10. I'm amazed the scores you can get without using dog bones... 🙂
  11. No glitches here, but I have learned the hard way not to ride turtles off screen. There's a chance when they come back on, they might now be the sinking kind...
  12. I was also surprised the difficulty basically resets around the 5th or 6th board back to the first. You go through hell and then it's laughably easy for a couple of levels. Then I lost. 🙂
  13. I thought I had played this version more than any, but the graphics are not very familiar. Apparently the 5200 version must have been where I spent most my time. 🙂
  14. That would be the safest choice. Best to pull back and nuke the game from orbit.
  15. Woohoo! Pretty respectable implementation of the game, although I am having occasional controls responsiveness issues, and it is none too forgiving when landing on the pads at the end. All minor quirks though, very playable, nice job on the sounds and music, and a fairly impressive programming feat to have that many things moving in different directions. For you programming sorts: Software sprites? Scrolling background? How they do dat? 🙂 I'll throw down first score to get things rolling... 12,980, game 2
  16. Unsurprisingly, competitiveness wins out... 🙂 149,900 And, hey! Shouldn't I be able to keep playing? It shows I still have one life left... 🙄
  17. Whew, came darned close to playing another game of this just now, but came to my senses in time. I think that makes it my favorite game of Mouse Trap yet... The one I didn't play! 🙂 It is fascinating from a psychological standpoint as my innate competitiveness battles my desire to not play. Which side will win? Exciting! Hopefully the next game will drop soon before I give in to temptation...
  18. Yes, you do need to brake slightly before the corner is visible, my mark is around the last building (4th one, counting as I go down the straight)
  19. Have to brake a decent amount for that turn. Quite a few of the others can be done flat out, but top right and bottom left are best done with braking. From there it's just a matter of driving yourself slowly mad as you begin to get it down but miss a turn entry by a pixel and have to reset. In other words: "Fun" 🙂
  20. And the top speed of the blue/tan car is even higher, but it is otherwise the very definition of 'unforgiving' 🙂
  21. Fantastic improvement on that this week! Very hard track to be consistent on!
