75,100, skill 3 Okay, reading the manual is always good. Didn't realize I could do the dog thing whenever I want. Still. Ugh. Terrible, terrible, terrible controls. -

Great googly-moogly, what a terrible game! Never played before, but wow. Just wow. The controls... the sounds... the music... Only wish I started with fewer lives so it would be over more quickly. Think I'll go back to something less frustrating like trying to drive track 3 with the blue car. 10,000, skill 3 -

Nice score! Unfortunately missed the submission deadline for this round, but great to see you've got serious skills there! 🙂 -
I was able to use Windows file association to launch jzintv without problem, it was the needing to put in command line options just to run anything that was holding me up. Command line stuff is great for fine tuning, but these days I need something to work quickly, or I'm likely to not spend the time to get it to that point. Part of what had me not play much Intellivision outside of the Flashback console, so I'm delighted the Nostalgia emulator got me up and running quickly, and led me to asking for help on jzintv (which I agree is superior), because I otherwise could easily have gone several more *years* without sorting it out. 🙂 So again, thanks for the tips, great to have it working, and hopefully jzintv in the future will see a little built-in newbie love to help old curmudgeons like me get over the learning curve.

Intellivision HSC Season 12 - Game 6 - Mission X

By contrast, I spend all of my time at lowest altitude where the plane is the fastest. Way easier for me to dodge missiles and I'd rather live longer than get in a few extra hits per screen. I do zoom up/down on the rail/road to hit trucks & trains so I don't have to veer off course, but later on that gets pretty unreliable as a tactic when the missiles are coming really fast. -

It's not bad as far as games of this type go. Decent Xevious vibe and the difficulty ramps at a pretty reasonable and smooth rate. Another reason these HSCs are so fun, gives you an excuse to dive in and really get to know these games! -

Nice score! And yes, that runway isn't a safe area for you. The guns will take a break, but the fighters are happy to strafe your ass. 🙂 -

I'd say more than doubling your score in a few minutes counts as improvement... -
Thanks again to both of you for the quick assist and for capturing that in verbose form, much appreciated!! It's admittedly complete laziness that has me not messing with the majority of that. I like command lines as options, not as fundamental requirements just to get something to run, so I do find GUIs to be pretty necessary these days. I spent plenty of time BITD with Nethack and messing with XMS and EMS memory and such and didn't mind command line stuff when 90% of stuff required it to run at all. Unfortunately these days I simply don't have the time to fuss with something even for a few hours, just too many other things I could/should do with the time. Please note none of this is intended as a slight against Joe Z in the least, jzintv is a phenomenal piece of work and including all of that functionality and adaptability is why it's the best of the best, it's just a hell of a learning curve to get started with.

My problem was figuring out what the heck to do with the hackfile even, so you got me pointed in the right direction, thanks again! 🙂

Thank you!!! Was able to get the basics up and running very quickly with your suggestion of using the LTO Flash GUI and your keyboard hack file. I can dial it in from there and chip away at fully understanding the jzintv command line flags when I'm less frustrated. 🙂

Hi all, I've tried several searches and found a wealth of information on configuring jzintv but apparently none of it has been sufficiently dumbed down for me to be able to get it configured. I used to be good with a bazillion command line options 30 years go, but apparently don't have the patience for it now. Are there any GUIs or really, really, really basic walkthroughs for getting it configured in Win 10? I am at the point where I can launch a game by clicking on a rom file that's been associated with jzintv.exe and get it to come up in a tiny 300x200 8bit window, but can't figure out how to change the resolution or get a Flashback controller to work with it. I know this is all exceptionally simple for the rest of the world, and I used to think myself a reasonable sharp guy on computers, but apparently I've hit the point in life where I've become my parents and can't muster the necessary focus to parse all of the instruction files that come with the package. I can't properly express how frustrating and sad this is making me, so thanks in advance before I give up completely.

Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
BiffMan replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
The ultimate for me would be if, in 2021 when classic Intellivision packs come out, they were playable right there on the controller itself. Holding it vertically, top half of the controller screen is the 'TV', bottom half is the keypad as in the DS version, and you've already got the disc and side buttons there. All of a sudden, you have the ultimate Intellivision emulator literally in your hands.... 🙂 -

One really interesting thing is how the courses in 'the world' are all laid out next to each other, so you can find places to sneak between courses. Not going to help your times and if you crash, you're reset back to your last checkpoint on your teack, but it's kinda fun to spend some time in 'explore' mode as well. 🙂 -

Not sure the blue car is a good fit to course 3 regardless of skill due to the lack of acceleration. I've had a few times I felt I nailed a lap, but am still slower than red. -

You're getting damned good at track 3 there! I just can't be consistent enough. If I ran clean every lap, I'd be under 7 minutes, but as is, I can't get under 8. Lol -

Did you have a date when production was set to actually start in China, and what have they told you about the date? No need to give an actual date, just curious if they are letting you know if you're still in track or not, or if it's still wait and see. -
