  1. Very possible it has to do also with how many missiles are in the air due to sprite limitation. Wouldn't think placement on screen is relevant other than you might have fewer missiles in the air, possibly giving room for a 3rd bomb, but I've never had more than 2 active bombs at once.
  2. I think an original Shump for Amico could also find traction. Or something like Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime that's more a genre blend of bullet hell and base building is something I can see non gamers getting interested in.
  3. Are you at high altitude so you have extra time? I think the issue is you have to wait for the prior explosion to complete (unsure if one or both) before you can drop another bomb. I could see it being possible to get the 3rd hit in if you were slow enough and still over target after the first or second bomb had finished.
  4. Ah, I was going off the all time HSC pinned thread. Maybe that's not being updated. Didn't realize Jacob had thoughtfully included those records in this very thread! Lol Speaking of all time high scores... @JacobZu7zu7, where are we keeping the HSC records if not in that pinned thread?
  5. Unless I'm misreading something... track 3 1980gamer 7:29 You got 7:40, so pretty damn close!
  6. I think Jacob said earlier no bonus points this season but they would return next season.
  7. I like it! Very flexible and avoids possible piracy issues. Basically just 'logging in' to the other system by tapping the controller without having to do any annoying password/code entry.
  8. When does your copy come in? Glad you're giving this one a try as well, it's remarkably good at the racing physics considering how early it is. I don't think anything else of the era was worrying about variable turning rates and featured sliding/traction response with the same fidelity this game does. I will say it's been interesting playing this seriously again after so long. I realize now why the Flashback version confused me so much, my cart BITD was apparently the one with 4-directional steering instead of left/right steering. Definitely way more fun this way, but took a lot of adjustment!
  9. Likewise. I'm already in for $580 plus shipping, I don't mind at all buying additional copies of games if needed, just trying to understand how it's going to work. Also known as "running out of questions while impatiently waiting to have fun" 🙂
  10. Makes perfect sense, thanks! I just wanted to make sure if I'm playing in my study, I'm not disrupting someone else wanting to play. If they want to play the game I'm in and can't because it's in use, hopefully that will just result in "Daaaaad!" and I'll come out and play together instead. 🙂
  11. I have no problem with travelling profiles, but does it work with any controller paired to that system, or is one of them the primary? Do I need to mark which is which and which goes to which system after we finish a 4 player game? I assume a purchased game can only be in use on one system or the other at any given moment, so I would need 2 copies if Moon Patrol is to be played on both systems simultaneously. Can folks play the rest of the library fine if one of the controllers is currently in use for a given game in the other room? Basically just not quite understanding how tied the controllers are to a system vs a profile/account and how flexible a family trying to shuffle between 2 consoles will be. Mostly I hope to have us all playing together, but if I was playing in the study and someone else hops on the living room system, I don't want their experience to be disrupted because I'm playing.
  12. That's a hell of a clean run with the red car! That must be close to optimum.
  13. Green is more forgiving with the lower speed and increased acceleration to recover from off track "moments", so I'd recommend starting with green.
  14. Nicely done! Agreed these contests are great for giving us an excuse to play games we might not otherwise touch. Keep at it, 40k is close at hand and you'll get an extra life! 🙂
  15. Is there a master account per system, or individual profiles per person? If I play on either system, am I 'Me' on both, or am I 'Me1' on one and 'Me2' on the other. How would 2 systems interact with the 4 members of the family, does everyone need to be attached to a specific controller, or can they 'log in' anywhere they want, and what ramifications are there to what content they can access on each system? Let's day all my purchased games are on the main system in the living room. If I want to play Night Stalker on the system in the study, I have to take a controller from the living room system to the study, or I can just log in to the study system and have access to all my content? Does each member of the family have access to all games on either system, or are they paired to one system (or controller) or another? If none of these questions make sense, then it's likely because I'm over thinking it and everything is fine. 🙂
  16. BTW, when you have a moment, could we get the all time high scores thread updated with the new ones we've set so far this season?
  17. Hi Tommy, can you help me picture how I will best make use of exactly the situation of 2 active consoles in the same household? I'm picturing there's the "main" system in the living room that the family games together on, but there's also a secondary one in my study that I mostly solo on. I get that I can bring the 'main' controller between the two for my content, but if we want to have both in use separately for whatever reason, will I need a separate account for the system in the study, and am I now faced with an issue of having multiple accounts where high scores are concerned and such? I understand this is squarely #FirstWorldProblems area here, but I ordered a VIP follow-on to my FE order as a convenient way to have 4 controllers and a spare system in another room in case others are using the family room for something other than Amico (perish the thought!), but starting to wonder if a 2nd system is going to be more hassle than it's worth. Anyway, while a fringe case, I doubt I'll be the only one with more than one active console in a household, so what is the vision for how that situation will work?
  18. It's definitely the trickiest to drive because you have to turn very early and/or use brakes quite a bit. I don't think it's faster on every course, but definitely faster on track 1. Not to mention a whole heck of a lot more fun/frustrating to drive! Woo!!
  19. I'm using an Intellivision Flashback controller, plugged in via the Vision Dapter, the disc reads 16 directions fine in Windows controller properties, I apparently just need to try an emulator other than Nostalgia, unless there is some trick to getting Nostalgia to use all 16 directions of the Flashback controller.
  20. I'm using an Intellivision Flashback controller with the Vision Dapter and am only getting 8 directions in Nostalgia 5.0. I do get 16 directions in Windows controller properties.
  21. Agreed on both the scores and the turnout. This is awesome and really appreciate your extra work in giving us a new game every week, Jacob!!
