Biff it depends on how you want to drive the car... the inbetween positions are just to ease the car thru a curve slower than the hard left/right options, with your Tokyo Drifting via the bottom of the disc. :) In anything, plan ahead, and less is usually more :)

Any questions, just ask nice to be back :)

Thanks, and yes I'm good with the basic controls, just finding I don't have as fine of control as I remember BITD, and was thinking that was the result of not having those extra positions.  Could also be I just suck after not playing for 30 years.  🙂

  2. Guess it's finally time for me to sort out an emulator option that will support 16-position disc with a Flashback controller since Nostalgia 5.1 doesn't seem to, unless I'm missing something.

What do you recommend, and if the answer is Jzintv, can you please point me to a configuration guide or front end that makes sense?  The manual configuration of it has thus far been more complex than I want to spend the time messing with.

TOMMY: "...look, don't make a decision until you play it. That's all. Isn't that fair, Tony? Would that be fair?"

    TONY: "Um... no."

Shouldn't that effectively be the end of the argument?  Try the games out... Don't wanna.  Done and done.

Makes me sad that any gamer might miss out on a new experience because they'd rather be 'right'

On our "to do" list... but not started yet.  Think we'll do Demon Attack first.  Space Armada is too close to Space Invaders I think.

How do you manage to let an interview like that just slide off you and then drop back here like nothing happened?  You rock, sir!  Thanks for keeping the positivity flowing here while others elsewhere wallow in negativity, we need and appreciate it!!

I just love the game when it passes 1 million points.  I think it's extremely fun and exciting to dodge and kill the orange guards.  Designers did a fantastic job on this one back in the day.

Not just that, but the way the elites seem to actually be smarter and how it accelerates beyond 100k pts, it really does feel like a constant battle for your life and can be ended by a single misstep.

Speaking of, the number of stupid ways to die in this is impressive. Take one hit from a strong disc, and your life is not in your hands. But my favorite is exiting through a door exactly when a guard spawns on the other side. Lovely way to tank a million point run. 🙂

Could just be, as we're all thinking now, come October, November, the marketing comes out and they're all "God, that woulda been perfect, where were they in March/April?  I'm planning ahead, not going to be stuck exploring the gloop at the bottom of the Netflix bucket, not again."

My fear is that the 10/10 release is going to be all too perfect when we've all been cooped up for 7 months by then with no end in sight. I do very much hope to be wrong about that.

I think it turned into the FE/VIP pre-orders.  I do recall the press release.  A lot has changed this then.

Technically, I think the woodgrain version isn't going to be sold in stores, so that's still a "limited edition of the console which will not be made available in stores" and we don't yet know how many of those are going to be made.

Managed to boost my efficiency to 240 pts/hit!

However, being focused is just part of it...

Very nice!  Definitely a great ratio.  Did you happen to have a lot of planes to shoot down on that run?  I'm wondering whether they count as "hits" or not and might explain why my ratio seems to vary more than I would expect.

By the way, I love that you analyzed points per hit average.  Speaks to my numbers-oriented geek heart and is yet another fun way to measure success!  🙂

    What's the Discount Code ?

I've had several friends comment on that.  The graphic very much makes it look like it's 25% off the order right now, instead of 25% off other merchandise.  I know it's intended to be eye catching and "read the fine print" is a standard marketing ploy, just an observation that 3 out of 5 people I forwarded the Facebook post to thought they were going to get 25% off the console by pre-ordering and felt misled.
