Report: PS3, PS Vita stores will close for good this summer
Shawn replied to 0078265317's topic in Modern Console Discussion
FarCry Classic is one for sure. -
The difference in cost for the eprom is a non-issue BUT you do need to add a PLD to the mix to control the bankswitching. They are only a couple bucks each but they do add to the production cost and time it takes to build each cart as that is another chip to solder in place. You also then need more resistors, those are only pennies but add 2 more solder points for each one required. 128k you are looking at 3x 3.3k resistors and a 1.uf capacitor. 48k game you only need a 7402 and a .1uf cap on top of the 27512 eprom.

9 and 15 pin cables are cheap and plentiful. No need to hack up an ugly mess like this.

I agree. Always solder all the legs in place.

When I built this console it was done so with a brand new motherboard and the best cosmetic condition 5200 system shell I could find. I only used it sparingly to test various games with and play a few here and there. I did a basic AV mod on it and also burned a copy of the 4 port bios to go in it for the best game compatibility. When 8bit got it he wanted a cleaner more enhanced quality image out of it than the basic AV can give (display contrast issues from the basic AV mod) so he sent it to to crossbow to get the UAV installed instead which is universally known to be the best image any atari machine can hope for.

Really cool project. Be sure to chime in when you get around to Star Wars. Even as a novelty it would be really fun to have a copy of the full movie on a 2600 cart.

Coleco Chameleon .... hardware speculations?

But at the same time, "Mr. Lee" is well known to be full of shit so perhaps that is why he has not graced this thread with his proof and revelations. -

LMK how that works out with PS2 support as I have a slim that lost PS2 compatibility with the last version of rebug and\or the current version of evilnat cfw. Dunno if I've missed something or what but now all I get is a black screen of doom on PS2 and PSP titles. Doesn't even reach the BIOS screen. Previously I had no issue with them. I've read something about netemu being the issue but didn't get to the cause or find a solution. Everything else is still working perfectly though like PS1, PS3, homebrew and emulators. -
The “why the hell did I not buy this?!” thread

I had a chance to buy one of those big original gameboy kiosks many years ago. I think the guy wanted $900 CDN for it and it was within reasonable driving distance but I just didn't have the space for it. -

Now that is stuff I would love to see and hear about. -
Pretty sure this is one that the Blue Sky Rangers have stashed away. The copy of Heman for the Colecovision that was recently was from them sold so maybe there is hope they will finally sell the AD&D 2600 titles in the same manor.

Many people wouldn't have a clue what NWC meant without the context of saying it was a Nintendo game. I mentioned it was a grey one cause even back then I think I would have forked over a grand if it had been a gold one. -

Hopefully that can be untethered before it closes up. -

So nobody has anything to say about the book or any revelations\juicy info never before known that was found in it's text? -
That wouldn't be right. He bought in at $95 each which was a choice.
-
Yep it sure was. Was it used in a manor to be consumed by the masses and\or the player userbase in any way? Nope! You wouldn't have to specifically say "it was mentioned in the devkit" if it was a thing. The dude deserves the credit for being the first to use it in the way he did. EDIT: That was why my original post said it could have been used privately back in the 80's. It being in the devkit as you mentioned just further makes my point.
-
$95 each? You got totally ripped off.
-
Dude, he used it and sold it to the masses with great success. Perhaps it could have been used privately as far back as the 80's by other programmers but nobody will ever know or care cause it wasn't brought to the world. As far as what has been put out for everyone to play with, he sure is the the first to offer software using that method. I'm very happy he did too. R&V is top shelf 7800 software.

The Wii version of Manhunt 2 is the more graphic version. Here is a CIB copy for $10 plus shipping from a seller with 100 percent positives.
