I had a look at the PDF posted. It's a lot like what CPUWIZ did with his DS2 to 7800 adapter. Sadly, it had no interest either.

Untested without power supply is a roll of the dice. While it works out a lot of the time, if someone is on a budget, they can't go taking risks like that. If you want one to your door in full working order with everything it takes to make it happen as desired, there ain't no $35 solution (sadly).

Looking to trade:unused Gemini for working Jaguar
Shawn replied to DidSomeoneSayAtari?'s topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
You mean the absolutely no bids with 7 people watching just to see what happens? Don't be surprised if someone who was willing to give your $125 opening bid puts in a (100 percent valid) "not as described" claim against you cause this is not an unused new item. You can see surface marks on the console already just from the pictures you provided, nevermind a thorough examination. That alone is enough to be sure it's not "new" and you are selling it under false pretense. Even the minor wear I have circled from your photos below instantly makes your item "not as described" just from the photo alone. Open box: An item in excellent, new condition with no wear. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Coleco-Gemini-Atari-2600-Clone-Game-System-Complete-CIB-Never-Used/124557034082?hash=item1d002d8262:g:mX8AAOSwtc1gGhxU My personal opinion is this is a gently used, well cared for system. Occam's Razor would agree as would anyone looking at this objectively without bias. I know you want to get as much as possible for this console but don't set yourself up for a headache and a bad reputation over a silly 2600 console. It's not worth it. -
Existence of Centipede/Millipede prototypes for the NES?
Shawn replied to Atariboy's topic in Prototypes
If you figure out the file structure please let me know as I would like to split it into proper PRG an CHR chunks. -
I'm not sure. When they said "arcade" I was originally thinking it was a hack of one of the other pacman games that was by someone else built from the ground up with Nestor & Pollux hacked into that. If it was just plain old Ms. Pacman with Pollux it would still be a bit annoying and a bit of a swipe as that avenue has been explored long ago by others with the consent of at least the new subjects rights (I was part of that group) but I guess it would be less faux pas than tacking it onto a full on homebrew. None of us really have the right to the trade dress or IP of Pacman even if the big companies turn a blind eye to them. It is however in poor taste to copy or repeat the work of others in the modern Atari community. Unwritten rules of the road and all that.

As sad as it is, over $100 for a good working 7800 seems to have become the norm.

I've never seen a 7800 console in the wild. I've seen 2 cartridges ever. Both at goodwill. One was a NIB Pole Position and the other was a loose copy of some other common. That was a long time ago too. Once in a while I see some 2600 stuff be it games or consoles but not very often. Don't even see NES or SNES much anymore outside of Pawn Shops that want "what they go for on ebay".

WTF are you talking about? You are totally off the rails here. There is no controller happening and there is no games for that controller that won't exist. Get over it. I don't care what you have done. You enjoying your XM with Yamaha sound supported games? Nope. You have no desire to enter a dick size competition yet in the next sentence and following paragraph you do so with a resume of things that I couldn't care less about. I'm happy your happy with your work in whatever it is you do. That means nothing when it comes to this non-existent, un-needed 7800 controller and the non-existent games that will never be programmed that would need it. Just stop. You're making yourself look broken. I have no assumptions about you, I couldn't care less about you personally. I've been speaking this whole time to the lack of merit to this entire idea and but that if you are so sure of it's need and mass appeal that you should go ahead and build it letting us all know when it's ready and what software (that doesn't and won't exist) requires this ultimate controller. The idea didn't jive the first time you brought it up and it's no further along now.

I don't own a cellphone and have not since the late 90's cause I think they are a cancer to society. I have no idea who you work for but unless it's Sony you don't have a controller attached to my PC. Glad you think what you have done in your field of work deserves thanks but I have not given you any. What you perceive as negativity is actually reality and you just don't like it. Go build your controller and offer it to the masses if you are so sure of it. Without software to back it up, as others have mentioned, it's going nowhere fast. You have mentioned you do not have the means to make such software so that avenue is a bust as well. I understand you are kinda spitballing here for an idea you like but none of it is sticking to the wall. That is not a productive thing to do either if you want to look at it that way.

I got some swamp land in Florida I'd like to sell you.
-
I said for you to build the controllers and program the games you are talking about and then to put them up for sale for people to buy them. Where is the problem here? EDIT: If you are mad because you don't actually have a design, can't build these controllers or program games to go with them if you did that is another thing. You can't get mad at me cause you are not able to see any of these things to completion.

Don't know why but for no reason at all Parcel Fox actually added the deliveries I did while playing yesterday. Gives me hope I might actually complete that challenge. Perhaps I have to do 100 of them to get the 20 recognized for the achievement ...lol..

Existence of Centipede/Millipede prototypes for the NES?
Shawn replied to Atariboy's topic in Prototypes
I had a look at that with the nesmapper program and it comes up as "NROM or unknown" with 32k prg and nothing for CHR data. That can't be right. Does anyone know the proper mapper for this? -
Well then you just need to build the controllers and program the games to use them and put them up for sale. Let us all know when they are ready for purchase. "Simple as that".
-
You keep saying "we" when it's really a situation for "I" as it's just you advocating for this. The "we" in this conversation are saying this is a no go.

FS: Turbo Everdrive & Jaguar EPROM
Shawn replied to pixelatedharmony's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Should really get more light in on those UV windows of the eproms so people can get a clear picture of what you are selling. -
The folks involved with the Pac Pollux and Pac Nestor hacks for the 2600, 5200 and 7800 that came out around 15 years ago had permission form the creator of Nestor & Pollux to do so. One was built on top of homebrew code, The other 2 where straight up graphical hacks of the Atari originals with the new IP's of Nestor & Pollux added in to mimic the flash game and comic book story around it.

Just played the newest bin and it doesn't run very well on Stella 6.0. Courtyard isn't stable. Lines on the floor jump around under player 1. Other elements seem messed up as well but it could just be the early state of the programming as well.
-
The Pit looks great, the courtyard looks bad. Too much going on for the 2600 to make it look good enough with the blocks for gfx like that. Removing the clutter with a cleaner background like you have on the pit would look so much nicer. Great work you keep showing on this for sure.

Game Stop's Anti-Collector Mentality Continues!
Shawn replied to Smitty's topic in Modern Console Discussion
It was up to 14 cents the other day. Was trading below 1 cent previously. I think AMC would be the better bet as it's seeing a lot more play and pay right now. It's a sinking ship so play carefully if you do. EDIT: Imagine if something like this happened with Atari and ol' Pdubs ended up rich as fuck? -

Ya it's all fine and dandy when hedge funds and millionaires\billionaires do it but the same people call foul when a bunch of small fries get in on the exact same action. Corrupt motherfuckers deserve to sink. No bailout. Take your lumps are realize you don't always win.
