  1. There is one case where the tight loop senario indeed chokes the GPU. But we are talking very few instructions in between the loop points. Once unrolled it actually ran as fast as it did in local. your saying in that situation the 68k could of done it faster? It sounds like a very extreme example though - and the kind of thing that could be optimised even in C code for gpu. ( ie - if there's a tight loop, unroll it a few times in C code ) Not extreme at all, in fact, a C compiler would just make this worse as it would usually try to minimize instructions and create this case.
  2. The main memory bug and running C on the riscs has nothing to do with each other. Running gpu out of main is not always faster than the 68k. It would have to be "wonderfully optimized assembly" in order to be useful in main.
  3. I have no idea. E.G.T. (Earth God's Troopers), however, will be on a cart.
  4. Updated I also heard that Gorf cancelled his games, so I removed the stuff. The games are not cancelled, its just the likes of you will not be playing them.
  5. Syndicate sucks. SuperCross is at least fun to play.
  6. Thanks for chiming in and your support for change if it could happen. Don't buy the abandonware bit either. Really this is, if you've been reading, been all about taking what is acceptable on the other Atari hardware boards and letting that be acceptable here. So what applies there would apply here. As for Al and all, if you've also been reading, we've giving Al time, as he requested, to put his board back together and tackle some other irons in the fire. He asked for time, we've giving time. I like how you just omit the most important paragraph of poobah's post. It is what this thread is about, crying about different rules for different forums to masquerade the pirating isn't working.
  7. It's illegal to host roms without the 'dev's permission. The 'devs' must first give permission to host their roms before it becomes legal. Stop saying its ok to pirate until the owner tracks you down and tells you to stop.
  8. Most sites which host roms, unfortunately have it backwards. Its only ok to host and download roms that have explicitly been given to the public by the owner(s). It is NOT ok to host all of them, and then wait for the rights holders to contact you to take down their property. (Stealing until you get caught in other words)
  9. The number is controlled by the bandwidth. Larger the sprites == less on the screen Smaller the sprites == more on the screen. Scaled objects take a little more out of the bandwidth as well. I've had 1024 scaling objects on the screen at 60fps. But they were all around 32x24 unscaled. I scaled them from 1/2X to 2X. The 68k will choke trying to manage the list of that many objects. You have to use gpu.
  10. I listened to it a few days ago when I was on the plane. Great job Serblander.
  11. Maybe if you learned to play the game, you could have helped out with the testing, thus freeing me up to finish the renderer.
  12. It's all a part of the Madness!
  13. That's insane Buddies! I'm glad I tested it at 1,000,000 plus.

    Rapid Fire

I haven't had any for sale for years, but the RFC's I used to sell at Songbird worked on Raiden and Zero 5 equally well. Made both games a lot easier on the thumb. What would it take to get those produced again? $$$
  15. Nice scores Facemeat. You must be MAD! Look at all the icons!
  16. And of course, the usual negative follow-up comments from the Jaguar haters... They think we're crazy anyway, when actually we're just MAD!
  17. YouWhat? Force Design is sticking with the 90's
  18. Ha! It doesn't help to much does it! When I design MB, I thought about those Rapid Fire Controllers (weak cheat controllers)! MB cripples them with the detection code, mahaha... It's all right to get ! Sure, that you had room for... but not rotary code.. AX I'm not sure how a rotary controller would help. You have to move on more than one axis. I haven't seen a rotary controller with a directional pad. I could have easily coded it for use with a CX-22, St or Amiga mouse...but noooooo! We'll find other uses for the CX-22

  20. I use to love playing Mad Bodies with my RFC. But Terance made me disable them. Now my thumb always hurts after play MB. Are you 100% sure its disabled?? Mine works fine,i just hold the "B" button down, i wish the RFC had a working "C" button so i could move side-to-side with the paddle quicker though. this game is MADFUN! I use to only play MB with a RFC. It would fire so fast that it almost overwhelmed the jag with so many bullets. The planets would be destroyed instantly. Terance made me take it out and limit the succession of bullets that are possible. The Graphics Man won most of the arguments when it comes to keeping this game madning!
