I also prefer the gatefolds and fancier manuals.  I also collect the Intellivision Inc stuff because I may or may not have a debilitating video game collecting disease.

Yeah if i have a choice that's what I'd go for, too. But I'm generally happy if I get a CIB set of whatever version it is.

I was going to take a stab at that Scooby Doo but I actually slept in today and missed it.  I never sleep in (usually).

Ha, I set my alarm. I needed to get up around then anyway, and this was a good extra incentive. I didn't need to buy another $$$ item right now anyway.

It always reminds me of the beginning of the song "Stand By Me".  Or is is it another similar golden oldie?

AFAIK, the game has no relation to the theatrical movie.

haha, well whatever it is, i like it.

Good question.  I wrote a letter to my grandfather using that printer, and he (half) jokingly complained about the receipt sized paper.  That's why I was excited to see Crimac advertising an 80 column printer in their initial brochures, but I believe it was dropped later.  I later presumed they were going to modify or provide and adapter for a different off-the shelf printer.

Ok good. Glad it's not just me. That said, I still appreciate the novelty of it. And, I'd find limited use for it - I'm sure of it. I've got two small kids who would get a kick out of it. Printing "secret" messages and whatnot. Although, isn't the paper it uses full of BPA?

But the other thing I'm interested in doing with it is writing a program on the Aquarius... a game of sorts... that does all kinds of things with the attached accessories. Imagine playing a simple text adventure when you trigger the printer to print out some interesting message that you can then use to progress further in the game?

I can see Mattel Electronics on the mr basic box.  In the case of motocross, I think the Mattel edition is more rare.  Either way the intellivision inc editions are typically made with lower quality materials.  I'd rather have the mattel editions although these ones aren't available as gatefold boxes.

Yes the Motorcross game is INTV. I didn't realize there was a Mattel version of that one...

One thing I hate about the Parker Bros. games is that, not only do the sound effects interrupt the background music, but that the tune restarts right after.  It annoys me, and makes the game itself rather grating.  Then, of course, is that bad transcription of the music -- there's one note in that tune that is completely off! 😡

What is the name of that tune? Is it just an adaptation from the musical score from the movie?
