  1. Haha, I was thinking the same. Honestly considering buying another one locally instead of messing with this one. They're about 5-10 bucks in these parts.
  2. Ooooh. Thanks for that visualization. Well good, that means, for my purposes, this System Changer will be just fine. I don't have the same attachment to Atari as I do Intellivision, so I'm really only interested in collecting a handful of games so I can mess around a little. I have to say, I'm impressed with the few games I've played on Atari. Although the graphics maybe aren't as sophisticated, they do have their own aesthetic, which makes them look appealing.
  3. Thank you. I understand what you're saying, now, about those pins not being active on the 2600 controller. Which is good because that probably means that both controller ports on my System Changer are going to work with a standard 2600 joystick... Provided I find some that are fully functional.
  4. Cleaning the button contact didn't seem to work, by the way.
  5. I think I have a multimeter in the garage somewhere. It might need a probe.
  6. Thanks mr_me, what is the third paddle? Is that the fire button?
  7. Not sure whether to post this on the INTY boards or on the Atari boards, but here's the deal. I have a very nice looking Intellivision System Changer that seems to work well, aside from one thing! I can't seem to get the "fire" button to work on the lone Atari joystick I purchased to go along with the System Changer. The fire button does not respond with the controller plugged into EITHER the left or right System Changer port, upon closer inspection, I noticed that the #9 pin is missing from the player 2 controller port. (See attached image). Again, the fire button on my only Atari joystick controller does not function when plugged into either port on the System Changer. That said, could this missing #9 pin in port 2 be to blame? If I use the Intellivision controllers built into my INT II, the fire buttons all work - on both controllers. Not sure if that is relevant information, but there you go. Should I bother purchasing another Atari joystick to see if that one works? Or, can someone diagnose the problem based on the above information? Thanks!
  8. I'd say so too. Been looking at a couple used but nice ones at more than that price. That said, I can't spend upwards of $400 in dusty old video games in the same week. 🤣
  9. Yeah, that's the one. The next thing I need is that music synthesizer keyboard. Talk about hard to hide!
  10. All I gotta do is get the package when it comes. Then down to the basement with the intellivision II
  11. Well I bought a computer adapter. Condition was described as like new, in-box. Light blemishes on the box. Comes next week. Gotta hide it from the wife.
  12. That's what happens to me on so many INTV games. I'll get within 80% of my best score, and then spend the last remaining ships BARELY eking out an improvement.
  13. Last time I got into this game, maybe a year ago, i remember it helps to try to have at least one move planned in advance so you can press the control disc well before the turn comes up. I'm not very good, though. Once the pace picks up it becomes difficult for me to keep up. Also, I tend not to use the ability to lock doors very strategically.
  14. Yes you can. Torpedo blasts right through. But I'm not sure if you get any points.
  15. No way, friend. You can join whenever want. And this season is brand new.
  16. I love the yellow ships that look like mac & cheese shells.
