  1. Man, manual control is frustrating as hell - at least for a while. It only took me, maybe, 20 minutes to bring in a better score on manual mode than my most recent fixed arc game. Still don't feel comfortable with it, but the results speak for themselves, I guess. EDIT: Let me also say that I like doing the rapid-fire tongue flicks. It's often netted me some bonus bugs.
  2. Ha ha, intyfan, I told you anything above 300 was good! 😂 I'm actually looking forward to D&t mode. Never really gave it much of a shot
  3. Thanks friend, not yet. I've been having a hard time getting my games in with my son doing virtual kindergarten and my wife and I both working part time. I'm looking forward to really giving B&J some time now that B&B is done. Also, I think it's time I removed the Intellivision from my son's room. Heck, I could be playing it right now!
  4. I know exactly what you're talking about. That still throws me for a loop at the 2nd hand shops.
  5. You know... I think there's still some confusion on the difficulty settings for this one. In Frog Bog (and some others), there's no such thing as "disc" mode. Rather, in this game, you can choose between a Day time game and a Night time game. In the night time game, you can continue slurping bugs until the moon goes down. In the daytime game, you will progress through the times of day until ending on the night time scene. In this mode, once all the bugs are consumed or have flown away, the game is over. So, those are the two main game "modes." When selecting the day time game mode from the title screen, controls will automatically default to "easy" or, Fixed Arc. When selecting the night time game mode from the title screen, your controls will default to "medium" which is where you must control the arc while the tongue flick remains automatic. Complicating matters... you can change the skill level (fixed arc, medium or full manual) at any time in any game mode (night or day) It's confusing as hell, but I'm 99% certain this is accurate.
  6. Well, the way I'd describe it, actually is like this: Disc Level: Fixed Arc Disc Level: D&T
  7. I'm going to start using this. It's one of those things that sounds so simple but without context means literally nothing. I wonder if I can get anyone else to adopt it! 😂
  8. So basically, I'm lucky to get half of Biffman's score on a decent run for me. 🤪
  9. Yup, this is what I was trying to explain earlier. Steeper learning curve, but more control over the frog.
  10. I don't want to get too far off topic in the Frog Bog thread, but this really would be a good price. Seems like when I've seen this game up for sale it's upwards of $35-45 bucks. Maybe CIB, but sometimes not. So... Ok, back to Frog Bog!
  11. There's actually another one up on the auction site for 20 bucks, BIN, CIB & Free shipping. Just a heads up for anyone interested. Looks maybe a bit nicer condition than the one I just got...
  12. Actually, one just sold for 28 bucks, CIB, shipped. Ha ha... Because I'm the one who bought it 😂
  13. That's one of the games I've always wanted, well since last fall, but it's $$$
  14. It's also cheap to get, even if you want a CIB copy. Shouldn't be much more than 5 or 6 bucks... At least here in Akron.
  15. Yeah, but you can set frog control independent of the difficulty setting you pick from the title screen...
