I hated this game until I started attacking the side aliens instead of focusing on the bottom row all the time.

That's good enough for me but I don't know what the official stance is.

Really wanted to crack 200k, but you'd be surprised how quickly you can burn through a healthy stock of guys. Disc speed. Drift. Auto Fire. Dual Controller. No Pause.

My disc thumb does get a workout. Sometimes I find myself pushing it harder than I really need to because I get so into it.

I say just find a control method you like and have fun. That's one of the cool things about intellivision, in my opinion. 😊

I know this doesn't make sense, but I like playing this one with two controllers. Left thumb steers the "ship" on the left controller. Right thumb fires the thruster. Blaster is on auto. With this configuration, I feel like the flow of the game changes. Navigation and thrust is greatly improved, shot timing is negatively affected. The most important thing when playing this way is to always lean on navigation instead of offensive accuracy.

Oh, sorry, I just assumed that the reason your thumbs were throbbing was from jamming on the side button to fire the blaster. Sorry for the confusion! 😊

Slow clap. But that's why I refuse to play on anything other than auto fire. It changes the whole flow of the game to do it this way... Matching the trajectory of the space hawks And getting in front of them becomes the main mechanic. You do that first then take your time making shots. As you fall in place. That said, I don't see myself ever besting mr_me's score

Anyone else kinda wish the sprites or mobs or whatever (excuse my ignorance here) were a little larger?

Yeah it will be more like an endurance battle. And I have add so I’ll be pretty good at first but then I’m going to lose my mind. Ha ha

Yas! I played the heck out of this back around November / December. Finally got to a point where I just needed to quit because we were going to my sisters house for dinner. I probably could have played it for as long as I wanted. Lol. Fun game! I'm back in for this one. Also, I use two controllers on this one because I find it more comfortable for some reason

I just played a bunch more, and simply can't beat my score, or so it seems. I think I'm hanging it up, although I may give it one more shot before bed...

Did you guys try the Easter egg code from intvfunhouse? It sounds like you might be able to toggle back and forth from the title screen...

Well then I'm not sure whether to sink the time into big red or keep trying with blue. I don't think I'll ever be able to maximize my time with red, but I might be able to get under 3:30 with blue.... 🤔

Alright I'm going back to red car tomorrow. There's at least 15 seconds I can shave based on your time!

I really wish it WAS on the screen. It might save me from having to rage-quit at the slightest mistake.
