I am really getting the feel for the game.

The controls are very similar to Intellivision  Skiing where you make little pushes and cuts with either side of the disc to stay on track .

Once I started thinking of it like Skiing I started playing way better.

I now need to better my track 3 score.

    This one was:course 1,red car.

Yes! I was wondering if skiing was similar. Because I can carve a mean line in Skiing!

Very possible it has to do also with how many missiles are in the air due to sprite limitation.  Wouldn't think placement on screen is relevant other than you might have fewer missiles in the air, possibly giving room for a 3rd bomb, but I've never had more than 2 active bombs at once.

I think that's it right there. It's the timing of the other missiles! I just tried a million times in a row to record myself doing it, and couldn't manage it with just one hand. As soon as I put my phone down, I pulled it off. 😂🤬

    To those Auto Racing,

I suggest using the red car, or the green car for quickest times and medium control.

and white for beginners. (good to learn the course tracks with) but slower top speed.

cars 4 and 5 are tan and blue very tough to turn corners with but good for experts.

Thanks for these tips. I can already tell you guys that red will probably be my main. Might need the white car at first, per Jacob's recs.

Are you at high altitude so you have extra time? I think the issue is you have to wait for the prior explosion to complete (unsure if one or both) before you can drop another bomb.

I could see it being possible to get the 3rd hit in if you were slow enough and still over target after the first or second bomb had finished.

Yes! Highest possible altitude. BUT I've only been able to consistently do it on that first large ship. There's another carrier later on where it works, too. Not sure when though.

I feel like it has to do with what else is on the screen in the way of other targets?

While we're playing this game, does anyone else remember it being featured in Knight Rider as KITT's GPS/tracker?

I remember seeing it and thinking it was so cool that one of the games I owned was being used in one of my favourite TV series!

Here's some footage of Michael Knight playing Auto Racing (I think he'd be better at it if he used the Intv controller)!

When does your copy come in? Glad you're giving this one a try as well, it's remarkably good at the racing physics considering how early it is.  I don't think anything else of the era was worrying about variable turning rates and featured sliding/traction response with the same fidelity this game does.

I will say it's been interesting playing this seriously again after so long. I realize now why the Flashback version confused me so much, my cart BITD was apparently the one with 4-directional steering instead of left/right steering. Definitely way more fun this way, but took a lot of adjustment!

Guaranteed by Monday, but I feel like it might show up before then. I've wanted this one for a while. It reminds me of Super RC Pro Am for the original Gameboy.

I can't believe it has drifting!

It's coming up from Florida and I'm in northeast Ohio... Akron area. So I really do think Monday at the latest is realistic. But that gives me time to go back to Mission X... If I could just stop playing deadly Discs!
