great! I used to use this kind of functionality in K65

Personally I consider Flimbo and Giana to be boring and weak games on C64 - it's a waste of NG's effort to port the games just... because of the technical challenge? but it has already been explained to me that Atari users have some unhealed sentiments for games on other platforms from '80.
I think the situation is better when original game - like the last few hits on A8 - are exclusive, but it's not up to me to tell NG how to spend their time
I understand @tebe in my own way... I draw the conclusion once again that WIP games should not be put into game compo and compete with finished titles.

@neuling first of all I admire your MP tests but if I were you I choose RAW target for Commodore machines for $8000

Gentlemen, remember, this is supposed to run on 8-bit and requires compromises to fit in 64KB and so on
I've known about this case for almost two years, just report it on github and do a workaround
I asure you @tebe also knows this issue/behavior

for god's sak... I think I'll write the game in 16KB because I can't look at this pinned thread anymore, @Sikor you've been warned

but whats the point of allowing the declarative initialization if it's only going to be done once?
I think it's a derivative of the fact that global variables can be initialized this way and the memory for these variables is reserved at the end of the binary file, we save some lda/sta. As we can see this mechanism works for procedures and functions by chance, but it is indeed useless and misleading.

Unless pascal explicitly doesn't do that, in which case I wonder why they have local vars at all.

Is there any other solution besides:
function xyz():integer;
var
i:integer;
j:byte;
begin
i:=0;
j:=0;
...
end;
nope

use https://www.videolan.org/vlc/ apparently you don't have some codecs, I recorded using the atari800 emulator, it's not a perfect solution so you can beat the number of my steps
EDIT: I converted AVI to MP4, I believe you can see now solution in your browser.

WARRING: unfortunately the top players in this ranking are scammers who apparently hacked this site and their saved solutions are wrong
The levels was made by know authors, so if there were no "typing" errors they are beatable.
