  1. I’m still curious if anyone recognizes the issue with the RF signal. I swear that kicking is coming from inside the machine. I’ve tried different configurations and monitors in different rooms and tried to identify external sources of interference, but can’t effect any change. Could the transformer be causing that? I only have the one. I just don’t know enough about it. here’s a better link to the video example. The last time I pulled this thing out was the late 90’s. It had this issue then. I boxed it away. I don’t know why I’ve now decided I must solve it. Like I don’t have enough problems in my life; I got to fix this think after 20 years. Compulsive much
  2. The article from Best Electronics was very helpful. Thanks. It’s interesting that the picture, in the article, of the 800 port looks just like mine. I might try again with their product. I bought a monitor cable off eBay a few weeks ago and it didn’t work. I had to open it up to wedge the plug into the socket. I never know if it’s really in there or not. Then I had to put my foot on the case and two hands on the plug to get it out. Maybe I should replace the socket. How can I tell if it’s really damaged? Does anyone have a good video of that procedure?
  3. Thanks for your time I have tried it on three different modern televisions +1 old television. I’ve tried many combinations of different cables switch boxes and adapters. The ticking and glitching comes through exactly the same no matter what. I tried it in different rooms. Turned off anything that could possibly be creating radio interference even my router. Still popping a ticking. Can you see that video? And I miss spoke about the monitor port. The hole in the case is not the wrong size. The port just doesn’t line up to the hole. I’ve opened up the case and jam the cable through the hole and got it into the port But it never worked. I probably damaged it in the process. I don’t think that port ever worked. Back in the day, ~’86 ‘87 ‘88, When I use it every day as a wordprocessor in middle school, that port never worked. Always RF☹️. Do you think if I got that working it would solve the problem?
  4. IMG_1069.MOV I pulled out my old 800xl. It seems to work but there is interference in the RF output. It’s pops and clicks with lines like an old VHS tracking disorder. The monitor output has never worked on this machine. The hole in the case isn’t even large enough to fit the monitor to RCA cable. I have tried many different RF cables, switch boxes, and adapters and different monitors and TVs. What do you guys think? Would it be the power supply or the graphics chip? Should I open her up and reseat chips or something? Or does it seemed trashed? I’m trying to upload a video but it doesn’t seem to work IMG_1069.MOV
