  1. bummer... We need a 22-minute trailer! With 3 minutes and 22 games it's only 8.18 seconds per game. That's less than the first trailer! (8.35s). Only in the first trailer you were talking and showing the console. So I hope that now you don't pitch anything and it's all gameplay footage 😉. Are you still in "tease" mode? Also: You can take something from the E3 stuff and put it in the trailer. Can we see console and controllers being used at the same time? So far we've seen pc monitors and laptop screens, but not the console hooked up to a big ass TV (I'm sure you guys have one, and a couch where you try out the games). Also controller demos were running on the controller screen, so far we haven't seen controllers "control" anything, just phones 😥. We want to see the whole system working as intended, that would be truly great 🙏
  2. Just because Sony didn't show up, doesn't mean Tommy would have the main stage at his disposal. Or that the press would give him the same amount of space. It doesn't work like that, it's not a comedy club, the night regulars are away, new guy can grab a mic and shine. There's a whole machinery of power and money that doesn't get undone so easily just because some of the big boys change their plans. It is a blow to people who wanted to try and use the console. Perhaps if Amico's launch is done online, it will have a greater chance to make an impact. If they use Youtube or Twitch they can potentially reach millions of people, although at the same time, it will be obvious if they have a low audience, and they will be exposed to negative comments from the public. It doesn't matter, because in the end, it's not the E3 audience that Intellivision is after, but moms and grandparents, so even if Intellivision didn't do anything in June, the chances of making a good launch wouldn't be affected, provided the marketing is still going on.
  3. If you're willing to give up money ($100 a year ffs!) you could take $100 off the launch price. That wider user base could make up for the games at full prices (assuming that full prices drive some people away).
  4. I don't think Amico's margins are razor-thin. If they sold 250,000 copies of a game, they'd make 1000% profit. Yeah, I know, it's simplistic, but you see my point. I think Amico has an interesting safety buffer at those prices. They can go as low as 25k copies sold and still break even. Also, Tommy said that there is some psychology, a very low price will make people perceive the games as crap.
  5. Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo... or Apple, Samsung & Huawei? 😂 focus on the blue ocean Tommy 🌊, don't try to dip your toes in the shark pool. Tommy has battled hardcore gamers so much that he has started using their narrative 🙊
  6. There is a non-trivial chance that freaking Olympics will be cancelled. Therefore, there is an even less trivial chance that E3 will be cancelled in its current form. But I think if that happens, they'll do the announcements online. Intellivision will do fine. I'm looking forward to watching a Steven Tyler mini show on Youtube E3 live broadcast 😁
  7. Wait, were you offended too? I thought only save2600 and m-crew were offended. For what it's worth, just read my messages in Tommy's upbeat voice.
  8. Gee, guys. I didn't think my comment would ruffle any feathers. In no way did I mean to tell Tommy how to run his business. I'm actually saying that he's the person to figure out how to do the VIP edition. He has been right so many times, against broad consensus, so why should he be wrong this time? He asked for feedback, he got it, but the image is a little blurry. I gave my opinion, too. Middle of the road. Middle of the road perks, middle of the road price, middle of the road down payment. You keep og supporters happy and new customers happy. But I don't pretend that my feedback is above anyone else's. Of course I think what I am advocating for is a good thing, but I understand that it is not necessarily the best thing to do, because I am not seeing the big picture. Tommy is -and I think he's already made up his mind- I feel, and this is strictly personal, that it would be a shame for Tommy to pass up an opportunity like this. It's not every day you see thousands of people pushing to become paying customers. It would not make much sense that in order to satisfy less than 1% of your current customers, you would miss out on selling to 100% of your new customers. But again, my opinion could be summed up as: leave it to Tommy, he'll know what to do.
  9. Since those who ordered the FE seem concerned that their "limited" status is threatened... make a super-simple edition for the thousands of customers who missed the presale. Now, here's the twist: make it the wooden grain console ofc, plus an exclusive t-shirt (this shirt won't be sold later in the store). That way they have a differentiating element, but the value is not very high. Although I assure you there will be people who bought the FE and will buy this new "VIP" edition just for having that exclusive t-shirt. It's a win-win. I think the price should be lower, something like $250. And the down payment for it should be $50. That way you get commitment from ppl, and it doesn't seem like a money grabbing move. And make it open-ended. If you sell 10k, better for you and the people who bought FE. If you sell 5200 or less, well, no one will know (you don't have to reveal your numbers) that they bought a niche item, so FE crowd will keep their *rare* status. Just my 2 cents. Tommy, I honestly don't think it's wise to consult with customers who've already been served. Especially something as sensitive as hardware manufacturing. And especially when feedback you get is going to be colored by their personal bias (and even selfish interest). Come on! A guy like you? Who has an input into everything that goes on in the company, from screen material to a game logo? You have to make the call, man! You hold all the cards. You have the real demand of thousands of customers. You have the numbers and the excel spreadsheets of what's financially feasible. You have your site analytics. You've been too supportive of the AtariAge guys. Maybe too much. Do your CEO thing, make up your mind and don't listen to these guys, they know less than you do anyway. Just don't fuck with the FE's exclusivity. It's simple.
  10. Hey, remember when everyone was worried that Trump's tariffs for China were going to make Amico's price closer to that of a AAA console? And Tommy told everyone to chill da f* out Don't worry, you won't pay much for shipping, I'm sure people in Germany will have their own assembly plant, at least in the EU. I am also happy because this manufacturing approach makes Amico less dependent on China, less to worry about the coronavirus outbreak.
