A $10 game will be about $13 for us, but we have a $50 card in US, so it will be considered something like $65.

Edit : So no lost, no gains !

Ahhh ok ! I figured we would buy games on the Canadian store (like I do with switch games) and most likely get 50 Canadian$ on the gift card but I’m thinking we will be buying the games in US dollars which will then be converted to our currency. Sometimes I confuse myself 😜

maybe a comment from Tommy ?

That is also my take. Mass marketing would mean that stock manufactured would have to be pumped to meet the then demand. I learned this the hard way from Nintendo with the NES and SNES mini. I spent time trying to get an NES mini, got ripped off twice by fake units (one was returnable), and left a little broken hearted by Nintendo. I really don't want to see IE make that mistake. We are already off to a trust worthy start.

Since they won't start releasing original titles and they have a ton in the mix that wont be ready until after 2021 then I see this 2020 launch as mostly an initial launch for us geeks and then maybe a mainstream pumped launch Q1 2021?

    I am preparing for a 2021 launch but hoping for a 10/10 launch 🚀

So you are saying you are not getting enough information regarding the product, and that makes you doubt? Is there any product that you can take as an example that has been doing more effort to give updates, information and answering concerns during the development and launch process?

I think people including me have gotten used to these almost daily updates, answering questions etc .....and it’s  not realistic to continue this way until launch because it must be exhausting for Tommy and if there is a choice between tons of updates , YouTube interviews etc .... or actually spending that time on the console , games , launch plans etc I think we should be ok if things are quiet for awhile. Don’t forget it’s not the norm to give all of this information during the development process. It’s a BONUS 😊

    Thanks Tommy,

It may be some additional work on your end, but if you wanted to maintain the release date and manufacturing ends up falling just a little short of the deadline, for myself think I would be willing to pay for air-shipment delivery and would assume many of the Founders and VIP Adopters may as well.

Its not perfect, but it may allow for a way for IE to cement the date in the history books.

    All I’d need is a quote 🤑

I would definitely pay extra to have it on time if necessary !! I’m guessing that would be way too complicated with all the other million things that need to be done to get this launched but I’m in if it’s possible !

Yeah, if you don't care about something, you just don't think about it.  Reminds me of the new handheld console Playdate.  It's interesting... I have zero desire to get one, and I don't hate it.  In fact, I just don't think about it.  If people like it, cool.  If it fails, then it fails. But I'm not going to go one every YouTube video about it and post why I don't like it or why it should fail.

I agree completely. If I have no interest in this product or any other product , why would I research it , follow it , talk about it , spend time writing about why I’m not interested  in it etc .....this is beyond my comprehension. Most people have much less free time then they would like so why why why ?

That is kind of like saying I interviewed a group of gardeners and it seems the most popular hobby in the world is growing plants. Of course the Atari Age crowd (including me) like certain retro games (casual or not) and hope those get remade. Also almost everyone here is a gamer of some ilk and not just a super casual gamer. However nobody (including Tommy) wants the Amico to be like a mile wide mud puddle of simple, causal games. That would make it a toy. I think we all know, expect and appreciate the Amico will be maybe 20-35% hyper causal games (cornhole and the like), another 20 to 35% casual but not trivial games (like Evel Knievel, Asteroids, etc.) and the balance will have a bit more grunt like Utopia (semi complex strategy), Cloudy Mountain (semi RPG) and Night Stalker (semi hard core run & shoot). We are just strategically rooting for a few games here & there for the casual & non casual class that appeal to us.

I agree that there will be a balance of games with some being less casual than others but I’m sure even a game like Cloudy Mountain will be no where near as complex and those types of games on a Sony or Microsoft console . We will likely have “complex” Games Amico style.

Once again it sounds like people want more complex adventure games. I see this a lot, maybe simple experiences isn't what people are really looking for in today's consoles. People want to get most out of their money and adventure games is what people really seem to want judging by a lot of comments I've seen.

Not me. I want simple fun games to play with my family and friends with couch coop and leaderboards !! I can get complex on any other console !

I started it with my profile, then you can play.

For a final test I fired up a game on the primary system first with my profile (Super Mario Odyssey) and then tried to play Super Mario Party on the second system with my profile, and no go. So if person who purchased game is on primary, you can’t play with their profile on secondary.

Basically the second system is good if you have multiple copies of games, but dicey if you want to bounce back and forth.

So to be clear , You can play your games on both systems as long as the primary system is being used by a profile that did not purchase the game and the secondary is not playing the same game as on the primary system ? Sheeeesh !!!

I am tempted To buy a second switch just to play clubhouse games with 2 systems but I might regret it .

You appear to be correct. To test, I just downloaded Super Mario Party (a title we only have on digital) to the second system and tried to play with my daughters profile. It gave the message “This user cannot play this software. If you have not purchased the software, you can do so from Nintendo eShop.”

We basically only use the second system for titles where we own two copies. I also try to have at least one of the copies be a cartridge. I think you can play cartridge games on either, but not sure, as I would have to test one where we only own one copy of the game.

I myself am a little frustrated on how to manage two systems, as someone in your family should be able to use a digital copy if it isn’t being used at the time.

I will also chime in that I can hardly wait for Amico. I showed my parents a picture of cornhole yesterday, and they thought it looked like fun. I have not told them I am buying them this system they know nothing about, but I know they will like it. Both my parents are upper 70’s, and both have multiple 300 games on Wii bowling. They would want nothing to do with the Switch, but I know they will play Amico with and without their grandkids.

So you can play Mario party or any other digital game on the second system,  but only use the profile of the person who bought the game ? Did you verify that ? That is super irritating and leaves people who go digital stuck. I want another system but they don’t make it tempting. I guess everyone can use my profile on the second system. Sheesh 🙄

Yeah... I forgot to mention that in my multiplayer or UX/UI section. A lot of things are greyed out depending on what "mode" you pick at the beginning.

Did you find the moving back and forth within menus and games (i.e. which buttons to press to advance or go back) as confusing as we did?

It was the single most frustrating part of the game for us.

Yes. Same . Surprising for a game with so much polish and Nintendo seal of approval 😁 why have stuff blacked out ? Just don’t include it if you can’t play it. Yes the buttons are confusing. It’s not that I can’t figure it out, but it should be ultra simple to navigate a game like this. It’s a very fun game so it’s hard to believe such simple aspects of it were ignored or left out. 2 player bowling and darts is just weird ! And  the controls In the menus and games seem are sometimes confusing. Great game otherwise but it could have been better without much extra work it seems.

Not sure, as we already had family online before we ever got the second Switch. I would think you would need it to share digital.

One last question as this is not a switch group ! Lol . I also though I read that on the secondary system you can only use the profile of the person that bought the game as opposed to any of the eight profiles available ? This would be bad if true if my wife and daughter have Zelda games they want to continue. You would probably have an answer to this since you have 2 switches. Thx !

I look forward to the Amico more and more everyday where it will be simpler and straight forward.

We have two Switch consoles, and with family online we have to designate one primary. When you play something on the second system, it will verify the primary is not using the game, and will then let someone play on the second system.

I have had trouble with second system a couple of times when internet not available. Not sure for how long verifications are good.

You also do need two copies of games to play at the same time, which we have Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Uno, and Splatoon. Is pretty fun, but was obviously very expensive. I bought the second system as one of the last ones available at the beginning of covid shutdowns, as I wanted my son and daughter to both have something else to do.

I would need to get a lite at this point . I won’t pay over the retail for a switch. Ok I understood you can only play your digital games on one system at a time. Thx !

My switch is overheating and I can only play for about 20 mins docked !! Waiting to get it fixed ! It will be awhile with Covid and all.

So you need Nintendo online to share games with 2 switches  ?
