Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

At the earliest I would think. Plenty to do before they think of releasing The original Intellivision games. I don’t imagine it’s a priority. -

I definitely would like to have 4 controllers on day 1 if possible and eventually 8 controllers When more colors are available. I prefer not to use phones for controllers if possible !! I want to have the full experience. I’m also wondering which Color of controllers will be available on day 1. I will take 2 of each !!! 😀 -
Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

As a life time gamer, it took me years of buying complex games like Zelda , final fantasy etc as an adult with a wife and kids to realize that I’m not a kid anymore with tons of time to spare. Since I have a family, when I have time to play games I want to share the experience with them. It took buying many expensive games that I desperately wanted to play but never the time to commit to them to realize this. It was an expensive lesson ! Lol .... So the Amico is perfect since I always have time for a quick game of bowling 🎳 on the Wii. I only have time for casual pick up and play games at this point in my life. No time for a game I play alone that take 50 hrs + to complete. Ahhhh to be a teenager with nothing but time ! Those were the days ! -

I also like this approach and refreshing is the perfect word to describe it. The amount of games that come to mobile or switch on any given week for example is the complete opposite of refreshing. It’s a confusing mess. I will definitely buy more games on the Amico and since the switch and mobile shops have become such a mess, I rarely buy any games on these platforms. Actually, I have given up on mobile games completely. So even though there will be far less games on the Amico, I will definitely buy more with the approach they will use. Who am I kidding ? I will buy them all !!! 😀 -

To me it’s unbelievable when people analyze these games frame by frame. Does that have anything to do with how fun the game will be ? Maybe get a life ? -

I believe he said one game every 10-14 days or so and not one game per category. I would agree that this seems a bit low, but one game in each category every 10-14 days would probably be more than they can do and would take away from the “spotlight” . They want to give the developers the front page for a number of days so there game can have a chance to get attention and sell. Good question though. Maybe Tommy can clarify this. Then again 30-40 games a year would be fine with me since I will buy them all. -

I always wondered what the “hard questions” were as well ! Makes me laugh 😂 it’s not like it’s hard hitting news and so serious. Some people are acting as if this is a life or death situation where the “hard questions” must be asked. People hiding behind their computers are getting stranger by the day !! -
Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

It is true that most people will look at the base price for the Amico and may disregard the fact that it comes with 2 controllers and 6 games. This will have to be communicated to the consumer properly. For example , people look at the PS4 and say it’s 399 and don’t think about it The fact that They will most likely buy an extra controller and a few games as well. Its the 399 that sticks in their head. We know the value of the Amico but I hope the average consumer can be made aware and can appreciate the value proposition of the Amico With their marketing plan . It won’t be easy but I trust IE has the marketing plan down !!! I think it’s an amazing value and love that we get everything we need out of the box......but most people do tend to look at the bottom line price and disregard the high cost of the extras they are buying that add to base price which can be 100-200 at a minimum. -

I’m not surprised at those numbers. Most of the hardcore fans want the woodgrain 😀😀 -

It’s all about perceived value. I would rather pay 500 for an Amico than 500 for a PS5 because I will have more fun with it. It’s as simple as that. I don’t care if it’s the newest tech or the oldest tech. I just want to have fun. I understand how someone may feel the the opposite. All good 😊 -

Xbox one also had problems when they launched Xbox One with Kinect for 499 vs PS4 at 399. Sometimes base price can make or break a system as they had to lower it the price to 399 by removing the Kinect from the bundle which consumers did not seem to see much value in as a pack in. This is not the same situation for the Amico but it does show that people are very price sensitive when comparing 2 very similar products. Throwing in the Crappy Kinect and throwing in 6 games and a controller are 2 different things of course and in the case of MS and Sony it was direct competition. I think IE is getting it right with this bundle, and believe the consumers They are targeting will see tremendous value in it. -

I completely agree and am exited to get the complete package being offered. I was beginning to wonder if the price was around 179 with one controller and 1 game, would it be an easier sell ? People are bitching about the price so much it just made me wonder. But I think including 6 hand picked games and 2 controllers is the right move ! The average casual gamer will appreciate it I think. It’s nice to get a variety of games right out of the box with no immediate pressure to buy games and wonder what games to start with. -

Regarding the 250 price point, they are delivering a complete package with 2 controllers and 6 games at this price. It could have been 200 with one controller since pretty much everyone will buy a second controller. Maybe Even 150 -170 with no games and one controller included. It’s hard to compare the price with other systems for this reason. It’s a complete package offered at launch. This must get across to the average casual consumer in their marketing. Pick up the Amico and you are good to go ! -

Any chance of some jackbox games at launch ? You mentioned that they might be sold separately as opposed to in packs as they are now which makes sense given the pricing of games for the Amico. -

I don’t think any refunds should be offered. The games are already so cheap. It could be abused and MS and Steam can afford it if they choose . No refunds for Nintendo or Sony digital purchases unless I am mistaken. -
