Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
Cranker replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
Me too . I’m not really interested in pac-man. It’s been done too many times and lock n chase is cooler ! I would love to see a reimagined version of it ! But on the other hand, I’m sure if a reimagined version of pac-man was made by these guys it would be cool. -

That looks cool ! I remember playing super sprint in The arcade with friend and will never forget spinning that small steering wheel to the right and to the left like a crazy person. I can’t quite picture controlling this type of game with the Amico controller, but I’m confident it will work well !! -

I was wondering the same thing. One of my reasons for wanting to buy digital and collect all of the physical Amico games is so in years to come possibly after the servers go down, I can still play the games if anything should happen to my system and I lose the digital games. -

And don’t forget that high scores can be bought because of in app purchases. That pisses me off as a lifetime gamer and a super fan of the 70’s and 80’s arcade where score meant everything. -

Now you are talking !!! I actually have always wished that they would be sold separately since there are Usually only 2-3 games out of 5 I want. I love jack box games but they sometimes make 2-3 versions or updates to the same game and they end up being very similar, and some are just very weird in my opinion ! But the ones that are good make up for the weaker ones. I’m sure there are many people who love the ones I don’t, so selling them individually would be perfect ! Is your idea to have the same versions as we do now with some questions removed or new versions with added questions ? i ask this because there are many fun jack box games that I would love to play with my daughter but are not a good fit due to the type of questions / responses etc ...I understand that you might not be able to answer my question at this time due to many reasons. Jack box games are unique and in my opinion they have no competition at the moment in the type of entertainment they provide and definitely belong on the Amico !! When use my switch , at least 50% of the time (maybe even 75%) it’s to play jack box games. That what friends and family want to play ! -

i have a question for Tommy. When will production begin ? I realize the final hardware has to be locked down before production can begin. With all of the issues in China and it being mentioned in the last few weeks that things were 98% complete with the hardware .......just wondering. I can’t wait for the new video on Monday and will buy all of the games discount or no discount !! -

That would be amazing !! I would rebuy them all ! I was thinking of those games but thought because of the pricing (around 25 unless they are on sale) the jack box games would not fit into the pricing model of the Amico. -

Interesting but with all they have on their plate with launching a new system, this sounds way to complicated to even consider At the moment. -

I agree and I don’t expect or even want sales, especially in the first year. They need to make some money. If they don’t, we won’t be getting good quality games . To me, the software is already very cheap and I do have some concerns That the developers won’t make enough money. Remember we are not dealing with the same user base and the big 3 and they can not absorb losses in the same way. The last thing I’m concerned about is sales . I want quality games. -

I feel the same way. I was looking forward to you answering All of the questions that people asked over the weekend this morning and you always do a damn good job. I think the majority of us hardcore fans appreciate the time you take to interact with us !! Obviously things can change at any time. It’s ridiculous to hold you to every word you say. That’s why most companies share very little information until a product is completely ready. Following the progress of this project on a regular basis makes me feel like part of the Intellivision family !! It’s a very unusual and unique experience to share information and progress about this very special project that you obviously have an incredible passion for. I appreciate it very much -:) -

I won’t bother you anymore about local high scores but just to reconfirm , you will have separate high scores for all of the different skill levels ? I know I asked but you are reading so many responses, you might have missed that point. When high scores are implemented which is rare, they often have only one leaderboard for all skill levels and modes which makes no sense. Examples are if there is easy , hard , multiplayer etc there should be a separate leaderboard for each. Ok I’ll be quiet now ! Lol . I have just missed having properly done local leaderboards for so long. I can’t remember the game , but there was a game that had high scores and they lumped easy and hard skill level in one leaderboard !!! Pissed me off !! Lol -

I saw Dennis DeYoung twice and Styx once in their current lineups and enjoyed both but Dennis DeYoung played much smaller venues in my area and it was just amazing. -

We were taking about this yesterday and i am 99% sure that it’s because he just doesn’t care about high scores of random people and I feel the same way. There is no fun factor in beating people‘s high scores that you don’t even know. But beating your family or friends high scores ? Now that’s fun !! -

But there will be regular local leaderboards at launch right ? On games like moon patrol etc that are based on high score ? And separate leaderboards for each mode and difficulty level ? I know I ask a lot but I know you guys will do it right ! I need to enter my initials and be #1 ! Lol -

Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
Cranker replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
Exactly which is why I asked and received the answer that most or all games that are based on high scores will include LOCAL leaderboards where you can enter your name /initials. This is a make or break in how much I will play these type of games where it’s really only the high score that matters. Your idea would take local high score competition to the next level !! I don’t understand the fascination with online leaderboards where you don’t even know the person you are beating. There is no incentive for me to beat Joe’s score who lives in Florida ! But online leaderboards will be there for those who enjoy it. -
