  1. "I don't post much and expressing an opinion is hardly trolling"

Sure looks to me like you

It's no one's fault that your television can't run games very well. There's no rolling issue on mine besides with some of the homebrew games, and they don't even roll, though you get the feeling it could at any moment in Asteroids Deluxe. And Yar's Return has some issues with me seeing double on some of the images. And the only one of those games I'd call a disaster is Space Duel.

The games from the 80's run like they always did for me on it, though there's a few graphic issues with Missile Command that I've noticed which doesn't detract from the game at all, and the missing voice from Quadrun which was never great anyways. It's cool the first time you hear it but then its just a dumb novelty.

I'd say you're pretty much alone on this. It's a shame there's some issues with a couple of the homebrew games and the hardware isn't perfect yet (Which is basically only an issue if you hack in a cart port), but overall I'd rate it very highly.

Looking forward to anything else that they do next. :)

I'm hardly alone on this. I've seen plenty of complaints on these boards and others. My tv is brand new but nice try to defend this pile of dog dirt. I stand by my opinion and have a feeling by the few stores that are willing to stock it that it will be the majority. I'm sorry if my bit of sarcasism has upset all of you but honestly get over it. I returned it nearly a week ago. Got a portable cd player that works.

  2. Interesting how you come out of the blue, never posted on AA before and you're running around trolling and bashing the FB2 at every corner, so "Game Guy" why don't you tell us all about yourself, fill us in on who you are.

I don't post much and expressing an opinion is hardly trolling. I've been lurking these boards for a good two years. I think it's more interesting that anyone who calls junk for what it is elicts a name calling session from you Vendel. Congrats on landing a gig with Atari but, maybe a little QA would help.

  3. Wow. Scathing review. I'm surprised that you hated it that much. IMHO getting Adventure 2, return to Haunted House, 2 kickass new joysticks make it worth the 30 bucks...each of those games would run you at least $20 to get on cart, and the new sticks are quite an improvement over the classic ones, which run around $5 on ebay.

I liked the joysticks that's about it. Pitfall worked well but, I have it on like a hundred other places. I guess it all works out. I like the new namco museum alot and everyone else hated it. Go figure.

  4. Well, after a long delay in getting to Long Island, I finally found the flashback 2. I wish I could say all the nice things about it that I've read here. The truth is this is one of the worst products I've ever used. Many of games don't run the way they did on a real 2600. Some of these games can't even keep from losing the vertical sync. 20 of these games are actual atari games. (well sorta) The other 20 are "Hacks" and play like them. Playing any of the "sequels" and you're reminded how good the game was before someone with too much time on their hands hacked the originals. With very few exceptions the games run poorly even by 2600 standards. The only games I found that ran well were the two activision games and atari climber. The latter the only "homebrew" worth playing on this otherwise stinkpile. I find it hard to believe that the 2600 hardware is fully implemented here. I'm completly dumbfounded as to the praises being heaped on this product. There's nothing even decent about it with the exception of the joysticks being fairly decent. Hopefully this will find it's way into the dump all those E.T. carts made it to.

  5. Picked this up for the playstation 2. All the games appear to be emulated. The sound is much better then the prevous editions. Galaga '88 is in here. It's "out of order" in the arcade untill you get 40,000 in Galaga. Pacmania is here as well and is locked in the beginning. I was surprised they used the US version of Pacmania. The Pac games (except pacmania) have flicker with the maze. More noticable with Pacman. I'm not complaing for 20 bucks.

  6. I can't believe noone has said anything about the Intellivision controllers as the worst. Most people will tell you the disk is what sucked but nope it was the "action" buttons on the side. They would kill you fingers after only a short while. The Intellivision II's buttons were actually worse then the original. I loved my Intellivision but wondered what cruel mind came up with these controllers from hell.

As for the best, I've always liked the PS2 dual shock 2 controllers.
