  1. That's what I would do, if just backing up the files is the goal, but as others hinted at if you want to preserve the disks then making images might be better.
  2. The DataBiotics cart I have look like the one on the left - but that is a singular example.
  3. Nice work - I've got a beige (non-QI) unit too, with a brushed aluminum speech syth. next to it as well.
  4. What's wrong with Early Learning for learning letters and basic digits? It's simple enough even a 2 can catch onto it. But yeah, there could be more for sure.
  5. You're welcome. And enjoy! I've had a lot of fun with the Maxi
  6. Don't have experience with "Eye of the Beholder" but GEOS works well with an ordinary (wired) USB mouse (so no TheMouse should be necessary)
  7. Interesting. I'd settled on .webm a while back for "longevity" as I figured the open format was safer.
  8. I seem to remember looking into Project Carousel when I got my Maxi a couple years back, but it being too convoluted and as OLD CS1 said, too "nebulous". I think I'd just concluded it was easier to just use the Maxi in C64 mode, unless there was something from the Carousel i wanted to play
  9. And those of us who don't have a real SAMS can check it out in emulation
  10. You stole my reply Anyway it comes down to sliding friction
  11. This is a good question and with some interesting answers. As per my brochure (an advertisement, essentially) the table on the back says the TI-99/4A was expandable to 52K - so just a marketing ploy?
