I really appreciate your effort to still code on the Atari Lynx but you may reconsider using "Tetris" in your homebrew. The copyright holders of the name "Tetris", Tetris LLC, are pretty agressive against everyone who use their trademark without permission.

If you happen to know German there is a print magazine called "Retro" -> http://www.retromagazine.eu - Other than that "Retro Gamer" UK is already a hot tip given to you.

Because it's an interesting experiment, that's why.
happy experimenting then!

I was working on Skull Island and I got to thinking I could cram some other games in there also that used a 5 x 5 grid. I've got one other game so far.. Does anyone else have any relatively simple puzzle games I might include?
lights out should be easy to realize!

excellent remake!
and thanks for releasing it on gba. there are hardly homebrew releases for gba these days. it cheered my heart up!
-
any idea what the final name of the game will be? would make it easier to write about it

-
looks interesting!

Wickeycolumbus nice to see you joining the RAM game fun

Just on a sidenote, such games would also qualify for my compo, if they match the theme =)

this is actualy for a2600 or a 7800? still didn't get it
Well, either, I suppose.

ah... just consulted wikipedia. it says teh a7800 is fully a2600 compatible. so i take it as "a2600" release

What does PD stand for? I figured "public domain," but the contest says "create a logic/puzzle game," so I wondered if the "P" stands for "puzzle"?Do the games need to be original, or can they be pre-existing? For example, one recent archived post shows a slider puzzle game, which is not an original game-- those little tile-sliding puzzles are very common and have been around for many, many years. So would a slider puzzle for the Atari 2600 be okay, since (as far as I know) there is no such game already for the Atari 2600-- or would it have to be a totally original puzzle/logic game?
Michael
PD indeed stands for "Public Domain" - It actually does not hit the thing perfectly, as Freeware and Public Domain are two different things, but it's shorter and pretty similar - Point is, the software is free

Of course the concept can be pre-existing - It's up to you how you implement the logic/puzzle elements. A sliding puzzler would fall under puzzle game. If a game is having an original concept it might have a chance for the 150 us$ cash jury prize, otherwise you can still hope for a regular prize

well... as you seem to be interested in making something for a7800, i add it to the permitted systems. (along with the 5200). hope to see something from you
good luck. -
What about the Atari 7800? Theres no category for that
.i've seen your release and was about to create an a7800 section the next few hours.
unfortunatly i dont have any clue how well a7800 can be emulated. if you have any info on that and it's emulated well i can add a7800 to the permitted systems.

I wonder about the rules. Could I e.g. submit Jammed, even if I released it some years ago already?the entry must be unreleased. considering jammed has been coded on a2600, if you redo it for any other system it will be considered "new"
hope that helps

ps: i love your atari games btw!

PDRC v4.01 is the ninth coding compo organized by the PDRoms community. We accept ColecoVision entries (and other systems) once again. Brief rules are here: http://pdroms.de/news/16920/
Will be thankful for any feedback. Also if you guys could spread the word would be nice.
Our intensions are supporting the homebrew scene and not to create money with others work. You don't neven need to mention PDRoms or our sponsors anywhere in your production or readme. You keep all rights and can do whatever you want.
Same text as been posted adjusted for A2600 in it's subforum. hope no one will mind

There's like a cuple games I want to see on the Ported on the NES...Astroblast is one I would like to see on the NES
the guys at nesdev ( http://nesdev.parodius.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=4918 ) are actually discussing about a compo. so i believe there is demand to have new games on nes...
and if porting is really easy in some way, others are telling here...

YOUTUBE VIDEOFor those who don't use emulation to test the games.
--NOTE-- My screen capture slows down the action about 15%. Actual gameplay is smoother and faster.
Now that's a sweet video! And of course also nice game atari2600land.
