I thought about that as well. Maybe @Albert could test that out? -

I agree, maybe @Albert could create this? -

Thanks, that means a lot! I am also the creator of another cart called Lock-On 2600. I hope @Albert can get these into the store soon! -

I am really glad you like the case, it took me 3 days to develop it. -

That's a nice way to do it, especially for the cap on top. Then you can use a whiteboard marker to write the current game. The button may seem a little long, I did that on purpose so you know when you are pressing it. If I made the button near flush then you insert the cart into the console and press the button by mistake it may assume you are wanting to program it instead of play it. -

I finished my cart for the Otaku, I sent it to @karri for review. I hope he likes it! -
With the Atari 2600+ now rooted, will it require having a USB drive to play games or do you feel the storage onboard is adequate for that? Or do you think a homebrew launcher would take up the free space on the unit and USB would have to be put in place? I am curious because the Retron 77 can hold the entire Atari 2600 collection with the homebrew launcher.

You know if the AA guys had their way they'd make an interface like the Retron 77 homebrew version, right?

The cart works flawlessly right now, the big thing is finding ways to make it snap into place and hold together. Also maybe some grips. We'll see what I can come up with for improvements. -

I received the Otaku cart today and Strike Zone Bowling plays perfectly on it. I did notice that the audio on the 7800 side sounds bad but using the 2600 side sounds just fine. I have yet to try to make the uf2 files myself, relying on test roms from @karri. I also started tinkering with the case concept by using the case from Karri as a template. -
What OTG cable are you using?! Amazon link us. This has been something we haven't been able to test yet.

I'm excited about this cart if he gets this to work! Would be useful to do quick dev work on a game, just beam the updates to the PicoW and playtest.

@astroguy are you saying if we wanted wifi we'd have to have a separate power source to handle the additional load? Sure it sounds neat, especially if you gave it a USB-C header and find a nice USB power splitter to split the USB between the Atari 2600 and the cart. Or am I misunderstanding what you are thinking? Thanks! -
@Blinky / @Thomas Jentzsch does this mean that any solutions for USB drive reading for ROMS, ala Retron 77 community build, will not be possible unless a Frankenstein cable is made or some other trick? What has been done with the Micro USB on the inside?

Sounds good. Make sure to lean on @karri when you have questions about that. If your board space is the same footprint (minus the 7800 cart hole side) then possibly could be easy for me to modify the 3D case for that too. -

Are those mount holes arbitrary or do they align to something specific? -
Yeah, for some reason my AverMedia ExtremeCap U3 doesn't emulate the sound or sprites correctly. I need to find my other capture devices and see if I can get them to work better.

If you do make some boards, I can do 3D printed cases for them. I've done them for many projects including AtariAge and Commodore 64 projects. -
If you listen to the game sounds on the playthrough I provided, pick any spot of the gameplay (even the intro screen), you'll hear how crunchy and inconsistent it sounds. To hear how it should sound you can listen to this playthrough here:

Wonder if those who don't like taking apart their cartridges if the Lock-On 2600 would work on these carts? @Albert want to test that?

My bad, I should've tagged @Ripdubski. This sound like the issue you're having? https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2024148899

I had this happen on my capture card when playing the game on Friday on stream. It sounds fine on my TV and gaming monitor. Here is the vid of the sound issue. Does it sound like this @Glorkbot? https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2024148899
