  1. Super cool! I thought the whole mess was on my end. I just need remember that this device is still in development and to be patient. The 3 word processors I've tried, Atari Writer Plus, Letter Perfect and XLEnt's First Wordprocessor all have FX80 control codes on board, at least this is what their manuals say. I guess this is what has been driving me crazy. With ESC & number and on or off codes. I've replaced the DRIVER.SYS at least 4 times in the XLEnt program, slightly changing each element (byte) as every Epson FX80 manual has slightly different codes. 48 for a 1 or 49 for a 0. Of course nothing has worked but I saved the original DRIVER.SYS under a different name so it's just a matter of renaming it once the FujiNet print portion is updated. Thanks so much.
  2. Correct and from my downloads folder this is what appears in PDF format. Control codes are embedded within the page but nothing happens.
  3. Thankyou for responding. About the P: device... When I hit print the WP just prints and it sends file in PDF format to the FujiNet app. I know you don't call it that but it's what it is to me as it isn't a program just this: 192.168.254.17 which attaches to my Atari in another room. The output I am seeing is a PDF file via FujiNet app. I believe this is right. Correct?
  4. Ran Daisy Dot II and it works as expected with excellent font characteristics however none of the attributes come through: BOLD, ITALICS, EXPANDED etc... Perhaps my printer drivers are off yet I don't know why. First byte: 27 (this is ESCAPE CODE), 69 (BOLD FACE), 1 (FOR ON) Followed by the second screen: 27, 70, 0 for off. Other codes are/were installed the same way for the other attributes to no avail. I haven't touched the drivers in Atari Writer Plus as they are present on the disk. When selected FX80 for printer and select Epson 80 on FujiNet app, font attributes don't pass through to the printout. Once again stuck with an unknown problem.
  5. As you can see from the quote above, mine, that is exactly what I did. Twice over just for good measure.
  6. Solved the Disk Error problem by using Disk Swap with SAM on FujiNet. A very nice feature. Daisy Dot II worked as expected. I'm guessing that the Word Processors are at fault. More digging.
  7. Loaded up Daisy Dot II and attempted to print but got hit with ERROR 170! Still stuck.
  8. Just maybe I have a defective FujiNet? It seems to work ok but I just don't know. Has anyone else experienced what I'm going through with printing?
  9. What is most interesting is that no matter what printer I select, with the exception of GRANTIC, they all print generarically with no font attributes what so ever. And I have selected EVERY printer available on the APP to no avail. This is where I am stuck. As far as selecting the correct printer on the Word Processors, I am selecting the correct printer as I've double and triple checked this out as I don't want the fault to be mine.
  10. Loaded up Safari, typed in the site for FujiNet on my net and printed another file with font embedded codes from my Atari and garbage (Letter Writer) or no effect (Atari Writer Plus & XLEnt First Wordprocessor). Right back where I started. I wish I knew how you got Daisy Dot to work for you. I am quite sure of the printer control codes within the word processors I have attempted to use as I looked through the manuals and they are set up for the FX80 printer as is. Any other ideas?
  11. Dear Mr Robot, your PDF is what I have been trying to do! I updated my FujiNet device two days ago so it is current. FujiNet (the device) is attached to my Atari 800XL. The FujiNet app resides on my iMac. When I send (print) a file over to the app from my Atari computer, garbage and some text appears. I don't understand the "Once finished I used Safari on my iPhone..." What do you mean? Is printing via FujiNet a multistep process. I thought it was direct because if I print normal (wordprocessor) text it works just fine. Everything else you've done is just garbage. Pray tell, what is the secret formula? (Trying to be light here even though I am frustrated and have been for day now) I just now thought of something. I'm using Firefox to access the FujiNet app. Could this be the problem? Will try using Safari instead to see what happens.
  12. I don't see how this is an issue. As you know, the Atari has a system font present that is always there. The problem is that FujiNet printer emulation drops font attributes control when passing the printout via WiFi to my iMac. It could be stripping the font info on my end but I wouldn't know how to "fix" that. All permissions are open for communication between FujiNet , which resides on my iMac, and my Atari. I posted a question regarding the Atari Peripheral Emulator (APE) from AtariMax and was wondering if it would work with the FujiNet device. Still waiting for a reply.
  13. I've been reading about Atari Max's APE (Atari Peripheral Emulator) which correctly translates the output from, for example, Atari Word Processors so that one can print, via emulation, onto other printers by correctly emulating an Epson MX80 printer. I realize that the FX80 and Epson Printshop printer emulators are currently available on the FujiNet page but they are somewhat lacking in printout abilities. So this got me wondering if this can be folded into the FujiNet print page so that printer output is correct. I don't know how to accomplish this which is why I am asking. Also, it's strictly an Atari/Windows program and I don't know if this really matters in regards to FujiNet. As an end user is there a way to fold printer emulators into/onto the FujiNet page? Anyone have a comment?
  14. I wish it did. I can't for the life of me, get it to work. I've checked the drivers to see if it was at my end and they appear to be correct. I can only assume that the FJ printer drivers trunicate any printer commands such as Italic or Bold or Expanded print. Unless I'm not entering the correct codes from where I obtained from Epson docs here on the net. For example: Escape = 27 and Boldface = 69. Italics are 52 for on and 53 for off. So 27,52 in the printer driver (SYS) should initialize Italics. It doesn't The printout I receive is generic with any spiffy font action.
  15. BOLD printing on an Epson 80 dot matrix printer. The code is: 27 (ESC), 69 (1) to turn on. 27(ESC), 70 (0) to stop. Does NOT work with FJ emulated drivers. Italic code is: 27(ESC), 52 to start, and 27(ESC), 53 to stop. Also doesn't work. What am I doing wrong here. The codes are directly from Epson and their 9pin dot matrix printers. This is driving me crazy. I see that others have success by the screen shots they submit but I have not had any luck yet. Still tryin'.
  16. Is FX-80 the same as Epson 80? I don't see FX-80 on the selection of printers.
  17. In order to BOLD print with XLEnt First Word Processor I must press a combination of OPTION+B. ITALICS is OPTION+I, UNDERLINE is OPTION+U, etc. Who ever is handling the printer functions within FujiNet please make note. And I hope this helps as I do understand that this project is ongoing and always in development. Thank you, Fred Olivas
  18. Still discovering by trial and error with word processing. Printer control via WiFi into FujiNet interface on my iMac works generically. Even though my WP offers BOLDFACE and ITALIC typefaces, the print functions just ignore these commands. Printer is set to Epson and I am printing to Epson from WP. These commands are ignored. Many commands aren't though. Center text, double spacing, margins and indents come through just fine. It's the subtle points that get lost. Just saying. Thanks to some Polish group that wrote an installation program for XLEnt Software's First Word Processor. And, of course, Print Shop which ran correctly right from the get go. I get stuck at many places and I try to figure issues out myself but when I can't figure out how to "fix" a problem, then I reach out for assistance. Like here.
  19. Sorry it is atari8.us NOT atari8.net. Has many useful programs within. This is where I found my beloved XLEnt Sotware's First Wordprocessor. There is a Polish installation program that I ran which installed the program so that it works directly with FujiNet's WiFi capabilities. Therefore I can print with my laser printer which is attached to my iMac running FujiNet. All have to be on the same network of course. Very smooth operation.
  20. It does the job sort of. I tried going to atari8.net, which is my favorite site to use software, but this program choked up.
  21. After viewing the YouTube video "FujiNet For Dummies" I attempted to print by allowing FujiNet to capture the "P:" command and proceed. What happened was an error on my Atari "error 136" or 138, and an error on my PC "unexpected web server error". It looks easy on the video but isn't working for me. Can anyone offer help?
  22. Update:. I discovered that many of my CF cards had damaged files. How they were damages is unknown as they've been in storage a few years. I started backing up each card, formatting each card with FAT 32 installed then transferring each disk copy back onto itself but replacing each DOS file with a known working copy. Success! Only one disk failed to work but fortunately for me I had two extra unformatted CF cards so I managed to save all of my data. I still don't know what firmware resides in my SIO2IDE device but now it doesn't really matter to me anymore.
  23. Yeah. Too much time and too many developments. Over the past 20 years. Just a shout out if anyone knows the answer to flashing the firmware on the SIO2IDE device.
  24. Thanks for the info. I will defrag an unreadable card and see how it goes. As far as flashing my device goes. I downloaded the v3.3 file but don't know how to proceed. Do I need a special programmer or can I use an Arduino? How to do. Thank you Fred
  25. Having trouble with reading CF cards that, until two weeks ago, booted up just fine. Need a primer as to preparing a CF card through a Windows 7 PC, formatting in FAT32, moving files into card (which files again?) and finally running the CONFIG program on the Atari. It's been many years since I last did this and just can't remember the steps. Thank you all.
