My 8 year old son just watched Papa Pete’s Frog Bog video and asked me if that was Pete’s (OEB Pete) dad. 😂😂😂

Don't worry... lets just say... I got ya covered.
The thing I’m really looking forward to the most besides actually playing the games is the box art. If it has the same look and feel of the original I’m going to be very pumped up about it! Hey Tommy, any idea as to when we will get a glimpse of it? Seems like I remember you saying sometime in July but I can’t remember.

5 minutes ago, GrudgeQ said:I know Tommy answered above but I just wanted to add that sometimes a great game may not have a huge audience (but they may be very passionate, just small) and sometimes the game just may not make an attractive physical game for the general customer. Remember you got to make a certain number (like tens of thousands) of units to stock a store like Walmart and each variant requires setting up a production line with large minimum costs. Often times, making 1 costs almost as much as making 10,000. That is why you might end up with a miniature Catan Jr box keychain physical game but not Cronkinole, even if people proclaim that the Amico version is the best Crokinole game ever and reviews are through the roof. Also a kid might buy a shark figurine for Shark! Shark! or a Big Bird character for Big Bird's Learning Fun but not an asteroid or generic looking space ship for Astrosmash. Just like Amibo sales are all over the place, Link characters sell out while some generic looking leaf Pokemon languishes on store shelves. Intellivision needs to make sure it just puts out the sellers and not the sitters.
Call me old school, but I really don’t have an interest in figurines, amibos, actual spaceships, etc. I just want to be able to play the games and have physical box copies. Just like the original Intellivision and the 125 boxed games.

That's how I look at it and that's what I am going to do.
The games that are digital are something different and not part of that collection,in my eyes anyway.👍
That’s what I plan on doing. The other reason why I wish there was a physical box copy of every game is because there MIGHT be a perception that if there isn’t a physical box copy of the game, then the game must not be that great. It may divide the game catalog into two classes of games: awesome and not-so-awesome.

Correct. Not all games will be getting a physical release. Only the super cool and special ones where we can do something extra and it makes sense.I really wish all games would get a physical box release. I’m a completist and would love the opportunity to have a box of every Amico game. Maybe the lesser known/least popular games could have a physical release that can only be bought direct from the Intellivision store’s website.

That everyone buying the system will be informed to stay tune for news about Amico on your channel ! Could it be something !? 😀👍 Way to go Pete ! Congratulations !I think Tommy should utilize OEB in some capacity to be the official channel of the Intellivision Amico. Pete is a great promoter and positive influence that it only makes sense.

BREAKING NEWS: Attention! OEB Pete is no longer giving away an Amico IF he reaches 1,000 subscribers before launch date. OEB Pete is now giving away an Amico WHEN he reaches 1,000 subscribers before launch date.
Congrats Pete! You put out enjoyable content and are so positive. Continue what you do and you will be talking about 10,000 subscribers in no time!

Getting hooked on finding out all I can. I’m invested like most of us all here, got $600 bucks into 2 Founders Edition for myself and my brother who was diehard Intellivision fan...but I’m gonna check out a bit. Don’t mean in in a bad way, and i have been coming here less and less since Covid hit and watched less and less of the live-streams.
Why you ask? I know the situation is fluid and will probably change and 10-10-2020 may not make it, and I’m ok with that. Really main reason is I wanna be old school surprised whenever the new Intellivision lands at my door step. I want that exciting surprise find from first opening the box. First Easter egg either myself or my brother finds and we chat about it. Playing games and uncovering hidden secrets. Just like I did in the 80’s!
Old school in a new non normal world. I’m in, 100% and waiting to just experience what comes along when Amico does arrive.
I couldn’t agree with you more with what you said. I just don’t know if I could check out a bit although I see your point!

Don’t forget it’s not the norm to give all of this information during the development process. It’s a BONUS 😊
Yes, that’s the point I’m trying to get across. We are all used to having the Meet Amico videos drop every now and then and very frequent updates. Now that there hasn’t been anything really substantial in a while, I’m wondering why there hasn’t been. I guess I was expecting this to continue until launch.

4 minutes ago, MarioMan88 said:I may be wrong but I take it they won’t be needing to spend big advertising dollars since IE won’t have a big number of units to move. If they launch on 10-10-2020 they already have sold probably the amount of FE, VIP, Fig and maybe even Gamestop preorders that they can realistically produce with all the supply constraints.
Just me guessing Tommy and team play it as soft launch on 10-10-2020 with successful preorder campaign, delivering on the promises and building buzz excitement as the system won’t be readily available and ramping up real advertising dollars as they can supply more units heading into 2021.
Just my take...
I think it will have to be done as you say. A soft launch. The marketing will start with the people that have the console in their hands. Word of mouth will be a strong start to a successful overall marketing campaign.

Is there any product that you can take as an example that has been doing more effort to give updates, information and answering concerns during the development and launch process?
Doubt is a strong word. I believe in Tommy. I have no doubt that the Amico will be released and be successful. He’s a great pitch man and passionate about the Amico. Everyone in this forum including me feels the same way. After watching BlusTech’s video, he raised a couple of points mentioned above that has me concerned. I would like to see more from the company and not just Tommy. Yes, I realize that Tommy has given us a ride in his “Amico Ferrari” that has made us all spoiled. No other company I can think of has done this. I’m just anxious for that Ferrari to pick up speed again.

29 minutes ago, Starpaddler said:Why would IE invest in advertising if they are, at best going to have dismal number of units at launch? That would be sunk money and would not be a good expenditure of cash at this time. Also, remember, we get way more from IE than the other players.
Good point. I just don’t see it both ways. Either they are going to need to start spending marketing dollars now, or delay the launch. I just don’t see them having a successful launch if they hit the 10/10 date with little to no marketing.

50 minutes ago, Intellivision Master said:Don’t get me wrong. I want the Amico to succeed more than anybody and I am a big Amico shillboy. However, I agree with a couple of BlusTech’s major concerns. The fact that there has been zero marketing for a console to be released in less than four months concerns me. Also, we were promised something MAJOR in the place of E3’s cancelled event which was to be held last week and so far nothing. There have been no mention of hardware specifics either. There haven't been any Meet Amico videos in a long time. People are hungry to see more actual game play. All of this leads me to believe that the system is not going to be ready on time yet Tommy said in his last interview they are still planning on a 10-10 launch. We have been promised press releases in the past that haven’t happened yet. One sports related, one edutainment related. Sure, I know things are naturally delayed by COVID-19, riots, murder hornets, you name it and nothing can be done about that. By the way, I would like to see more videos from other Intellivision employees. Or maybe an interview with Tommy and J where Tommy asks J a series of questions. As time goes on I’m becoming more skeptical of Tommy overpromising which may result in underdelivering. I hope Tommy proves me wrong.

I would have thought it would have happened by now if it was going to be today. Maybe Tommy decided against releasing it today because of the PS5 reveal. Tommy has been relatively quiet over the past 48 hours so he is probably busy talking to Bob Chapek or Rob Manfred.

But for the pleasure to do it like you are doing, I will ask # 1971 ( my year of birth ) and # 2012 ( My son's year of birth ).
Thank You Tommy ! 😆
Ok, LePionnier, this is just nuts. My year of birth is 1971 and my son’s is 2012!!!
