1. I am only ONE shy of a complete Activision patch collection (not counting any promotional patches like the Starmaster jacket patch or the blue Beamriders). I need Intellivision Trail Drive (see below) and I am DONE! The following patches are available for trade: 2600 1,000,000 2600 All Star Hockey Team 2600 Arctic Architects 2600 Bucket Brigade 2600 Chopper Commandos 2600 Crackpots 2600 Cross of Excellence 2600 Explorer's Club (triangular) 2600 Flying Aces 2600 Federation of Laser Blasters 2600 Medal of Merit 2600 Megamaniacs 2600 River Raiders (fan-shaped) 5200/Intellivision River Raiders (rounded triangle) 2600 Secret Society of Dolphins 2600 Ski Team 2600 Sky Stars 2600 Spider Fighters 2600 Starmaster - Order of the Supreme Starmaster 2600 Starmaster - Leader 2600 Starmaster - Wing Commander 2600 Super Sleuth 2600 Tennis Intellivision Trail Blazers 2600 Trail Drive Intellivision Worm Whompers If you have Intellivision Trail Drive and want to trade or sell, PLEASE let me know Thanks! Chris
2. OK, here's the update on the patch. The owner has been collecting Activision patches since the 80's and has no idea from whence it came. I also contacted Dave Rolfe, the designer of Beamrider, to get his thoughts and he had no idea either. Turns out Dave never even got a patch to his OWN game! How crappy is that?!? So...the mystery continues... Chris
3. I think you were supposed to receive this patch, but I wonder if Activision opted for the Intellivision version for all systems. I'm thinking this is some kind of prototype/promotional patch (like the Starmaster on the jacket patch) since no one seems to have ever seen it before. I'm trying to get more information from the owner and will post his reply whenever he returns my email. Chris
4. This is a scan of the patch that is shown in the Atari 2600, 5200 and ColecoVision manuals. I've only seen the grey Beamriders as shown in the Intellivision manual and here http://www.atariage.com/2600/archives/acti...eName=Beamrider Anyone have any info on this crescent patch? Yes, this is a scan of an actual patch and no, I don't own it Chris
5. Interesting how this auction and his other one that ended use the EXACT same pictures as the ones on eBay about a month ago. Is this the same seller or a scammer? Chris
6. I have an extra of Volume Two if you are interested. It's only been watched once or twice Chris
7. I was going to say, that looks surprisingly like my Sears Video Arcade II that I picked up for $1 in a thirft store ages ago. Chris
8. Not until now... ! I have a feeling my 2600 patch set will never be completed now! 890565 I heard from a Digital Press forum member that the patch on the Kaboom site is a fake. Apparently your collection IS complete (assuming you get the Gold Decathlon patch). I guess if you did manage to get 999,999 points (god-like IMO) you got the orange Laser Blast 1,000,000 patch Chris 891709 I had a hunch that patch might be fake, but at any rate, the letter from Activision does say that a special reward would be given for scoring 999,999 on Kaboom! I remember talking to Todd Rogers about it but I can't remember what he told me about the Kaboom prize. Also, remember that there are two different versions of the large Starmaster patch 891746 Two versions of the Starmaster patch? Do you have pictures or a link with the differences? Every one I've seen looks the same - or are you just joking Chris

10. Yes, it would It would look even BETTER if the ones below weren't printouts of scanned patches I need the following to finish my patch collection: Beamriders Trail Drive (Intelly, horseshoe-shaped) - PENDING?? Space Shuttle Commander I have the following patches to trade: 2600 1,000,000 2600 All Star Hockey Team 2600 Arctic Architects 2600 Bucket Brigade 2600 Chopper Commandos 2600 Cross of Excellence 2600 Explorer's Club (triangular) 2600 Flying Aces 2600 Federation of Laser Blasters 2600 Medal of Merit 2600 Megamaniacs 2600 No Plaque Pack 2600 River Raiders (fan-shaped) 5200/Intelly River Raiders (rounded triangle) 2600 Ski Team 2600 Spider Fighters 2600 Starmaster Wing Commander 2600 Tennis Intelly Trail Blazers 2600 Trail Drive Intelly Worm Whompers If you have any that I need and wish to part with them, please let me know. Thanks! Chris
11. Sure thing...as soon as I get a hold of that Gold Decathlon! I actually purchased the frame from Michael's Arts & Crafts store. Anyone looking for a nice display, check it out. I just checked the website but I don't believe they have it listed on there? Anyways...it's a huge almost shadow box type frame with a wood border and the interior lining is a black felty material(the kind that is found in jewelery/ring boxes! I think it was $100??? Not sure, got it a ways back. 890536 That sounds exactly like the one I was going to get. Are you going to attach small amount of Velcro to the back of the patches to adhere them to the felt? Not sure of the best way to secure them -- pushpins are RIGHT OUT!. BTW, has anyone every seen the Kaboom 1,000,000 point patch as pictured here http://www.geocities.com/elvis8atari/Patches.html? The letter indicates there is some special reward for getting 999,999 on Kaboom but the only patch like that I have seen is the orange one for Laser Blast Chris
12. ...I already have the frame ready to go! 890479 How 'bout a picture when you get them framed. I was laying the ones I have out on a table and with any reasonable amount of space between them the thing will be huge. It will look very nice hanging over my Asteroids cocktail whenever I gather up the remaining pieces Chris
13. Digital Press has a take on the rarity (www.digitpress.com/archives/cc_patches_2600.htm has the pics, search the database for rarity) although some of their ratings are off in my opinion (e.g., if Private Eye is as easy to get as Hockey or Laser Blast I'll take a couple dozen ). As for rarity, the later released games like Private Eye, Crackpots, Pressure Cooker and H.E.R.O. had a much shorter window in which to win the patch than earlier (and more popular) games like Pitfall! so naturally there would be a smaller supply out there. Activision stopped sending out patches in 1985 I believe. I tried submitting some pictures around that time and got a response that they weren't doing the patch thing anymore. Toy Bizarre is a weird one in that it's for a C64 game. Chris
14. I've saved up quite a few monthly video game budgets waiting for some rare patches to surface Now that I have some extras, anyone have these patches to trade/sell to help me finish my collection? Beamriders (2600 and Intelly) Order of the H.E.R.O. Intelly Trail Drive Space Shuttle Commander Oh, and these prices are painless compared to buying arcade games and pinballs I'm just glad to have most of those beasts off my wishlist and into my basement aracde -- prices have skyrocketed since I started collecting them in '97. Chris
