  1. I'll preface by saying that I'm fairly illiterate when it comes to the more technical aspects of gaming, so I'm sure something will hop out to some of y'all that doesn't to me. I'll start with what I think is the problem. After cleaning contacts and trying two different RCA-to-coax adapters on two different CRTs, I was having no luck getting picture through on my 2600. Next, I decided to pop it open and see if I could spot a problem before realizing I didn't know what the hell I was looking at. Below is what appears to be causing issues. There's some sort of white buildup or corrosion on a chip at the bottom lefthand part of the circuit board. I tried looking at a service manual and I believe it's a voltage regulator? Is this the cause of my woes and of so, is it easy to fix? I popped some other shots of the guts while I have it open, so lemme know if it would help to see elsewhere.
