  1. I do, I started checking for continuity yesterday after the schematic above. I am going to continue to check it. Hopefully, I can finish tracing it later this evening. I think it is still bridged the work I did yesterday made a difference as the screen was noticeably different.  Just hard to get in between the pins to clean out.

I found the service manual and it mentioned removing solder bridges. The  graphic ram it mentioned fixing it but never made mention of any damage as result. So that brings me a little hope anyways. Appreciate your help.

Most solder bridges can be fixed with a soldering iron.  If you're decent at soldering then you'll have no problem. :)

So I went through and removed it the best I could. Still a black screen but the lines are now different.

Could the ram be damaged and need to be replaced? There is solder that I can see back underneath of the ram. Considering removing the chips from the board, resoldering and trying it again.

    Thanks in advance!

Those chips shouldn't be bridged like that.  Take a little flux and or some fresh solder and try to remove the solder bridge.

Thanks! I am going to try and get all of it cleaned up!Decent at soldering but desoldering is a pain lol.  Hopefully that will work!

  4. I am new to the forum so look forward to getting some information from everyone!

I had my buddy over the other day and he seen my Intellivision 1 and Intellivision 2 were modded with composite video and wanted the prices and kit. Few days later he contacted me and says it is not working and asks if I can look at it for him.

When I booted it up both the RF connection and audio video give a black screen with very very faint lines. I took the unit apart and tested the wires for connectivity and things seem correct. I checked the ribbon cable from the power board to the logic board and it seems ok. I noticed one thing on the board and it was a decent drop of solder between the two chips. Please see attached picture. In the end he dropped the solder there and tried to clean it up but did plug it in with a decent bit of solder still on the board he said. The two chips circled I know what some of the larger chips are but these two not so sure. Could a bridge of solder between the connections Of this chip create the issue he is having? I ordered some desoldering braid to try and clean it up better. Worried it could have fried something else on the board.

Any help you can provide is much appreciated!

    Thanks

    Matthew
