  1. Hi,

I just got an 1040stf atari st and I want to hook it up to a 19 inch viewsonic monitor. The thing is that I don't really want to be switching between cables anytime want to switch resolutions, so I was thinking of using an ambery device for low and medium res, an atari monitor switchbox and 2 st to vga cables, so I can have everything plugged and switch by pressing only one button. My main problem is that I haven't been able to find the atari st monitor switchbox, so I would appreciate if anyone could point me to where I can buy it or any suggestion on how to achive my goal of having everything plugged.

    Thanks

  2. hi

    first thanks for the replies!!!

i'm really interested in adding a rf modulator to my st because i live in chile and very few of these machines arrived here (actually i believe that the number of sts is just 125) so i can't just buy another one. i had the grat luck to find one, and later on the hi res monitor (i have no mouse  ).

Most of these machines were imported from the us... so i'm asuming (and taking in consideration the very few people i know that owns a st) that most of the sts here do not have the rf modulator, so that makes even more impossible to find another st.

So if it possible for me to add this and be able to see the low res mode in my tv, i would like to do it.

any help would be aprecciated. i can post pics of my board if it is necessary.thanks!!!!

  3. Hi

i'm a little confused with something regarding my atari 1040st so i would like your help.

My st has a sticker on the back that says that it's a 1040stfm but the computer is actually a 1040stf, but i remember that when i opened it, i saw the place where the rf modulator should have been. Now here are my questions: is it possible that my st is a stfm but they stripped the rf modulator just to sell it as a stf? if that's the case... can i put a rf modulator to see if i can get a tv out?.

any help would be greatly aprecciated.

    bye
