Midway Arcade Treasures 3 delayed
ferrarimanf355 replied to Cobra Kai's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I should also note that the planned Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe Edition, a PC compilation with all the games from MAT 2 and MAT 3, also suffered a similar delay. I hope this means they're putting in the arcade version of Rush 2049... -
... cater to the same gamers as the others... Sweet merciful Althena, please watch over us and protect us from evils such as this. I like Nintendo partially BECAUSE they aren't the XStation. Nintendo offers a diffrent gaming experience than the competition. Which isn't to say that the PlayBox doesn't have some fine titles, just that I like diversity. 933644 Yeah, while you're busy choosing between Mario Superstar Baseball or Hello Kitty Roller Rescue, I'll be busy playing some 50-player multiplayer deathmatches on Perfect Dark Zero or looking at the latest in GothamTV highlights on Project Gotham Racing 3. If Nintendo wants to innovate, they really should stop it with the Mario sports titles and the kiddy image, much less the rehashing of tired franchises. The Revolution will become the next generation's Dreamcast- and don't take that the wrong way, I bought a Dreamcast at launch and loved it.

Tecmo Classic Arcade for xbox
ferrarimanf355 replied to Shannon's topic in Modern Console Discussion
They released a Castlevania & Contra Collection for PC a few years ago, with the Castlevania 1-3, Contra and Super Contra, the NES versions, if memory serves me well... 933212 Yeah, I saw something like that at a local store. I'll check to see if they still have it... -
That's more lame programming than anything else. Don't know what to say on that... you should have given it some more time. I really don't see things this way. Complexity doesn't always have to mean a giant mess. With something like Splinter Cell, all it takes is practice, practice and more practice. The devteam behind that game made Splinter Cell great because of controls that add layers of depth without becoming overtly complex for complexity's sake. Racing games have gotten more complex as well: you have multiple viewpoints, and in sims like Forza Motorsport, you have look back and look left/right commands, and pit strategies. It never overwhelms me, because it's implemented in such a natural way. I don't think more complex means more frustrating, and it's because of that that I'm skeptical of this push to simplify games. I mean, yeah, I'm fully aware that some of the best games ever made are very simple... but complex can be beautiful as well.

Um, I don't see what's so scary with current-gen controllers. Can you enlighten me? As for the Revolution's controller... I can now safely say that the Xbox 360's controller is going to end up being the best controller for the next gen, I'll say that much. The Rev's controller looks to be a colossal failure. How in the hell are you going to control traditional fighting games with that thing? Madden NFL? NBA Live? If anyone's expecting third-party support, I need to call the authorities, because whatever you're smoking must not be legal...

TV Plug-in-Play Games on Sale at Walmart
ferrarimanf355 replied to YarsRevengeFan's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I already have the EA Sports one... but if the 2-player version is $5, I'll pick that one up and sell my single-player one. -
Actually, Tecmo released a classic arcade compilation in Japan for the PS2 called Tecmo Hit Parade, but it only features seven games (Star Force, Bomb Jack, Pleiads, Pinball Action, Senjyo, Tecmo Cup and Solomon's Key), and I hear that the emulation is terrible. Getting back on topic, Sega announced that they will release Taito Legends in the US in about a month for all three platforms (PC, PS2, Xbox). I could have seen this coming, since EBGames listed Taito Legends with Sega as the publisher about a week or so ago... anyways, I'm glad it's official now. http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/taitole...ws_6133138.html http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/259112.asp?site=GSBUY (PS2 version) http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/259094.asp (Xbox version) No PC version yet on EBGames...

LA Rush looks good to me. A free-roaming street racer with that classic Rush moon gravity... I'm interested. -

Namco Museum 50th Anniversary Arcade Collection
ferrarimanf355 replied to SwedenLynxer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Sold! Too bad the PC version doesn't come out for another three weeks, and by then, Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe Edition also comes out. Those two compilations should keep me busy until the Xbox 360 comes out... -
Which version of Namco Museum has the best ports?
ferrarimanf355 replied to Lacan's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I once had 1-4 back in the day, but sold them. I currently have 1,3, and 5, and am currently looking for 2,4 and Encore. -
Is it time for me to give up on Nintendo?
ferrarimanf355 replied to Room 34's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Go ahead and wait for the Xbox 360, so I can lap you in PGR3 on Live. It will be fun! -
Which next generation system are you getting?
ferrarimanf355 replied to Nall3k's topic in Modern Console Discussion
An Xbox 360 for me. The Revolution probably won't live up to the hype, much less sell, and I'd rather slit my wrists than give Ken Kuturagi any more of my money for an awful games console. And Project Gotham Racing 3 is going to pwn. -
Capcom Classics Collection
ferrarimanf355 replied to The Eidolon's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I actually have a CD-ROM for the PC that has the original Street Fighter and SFII CE. As soon as I find the website for this, I'll pass it on. As for this collection, I'm buying it, although I would have liked some Street Fighter Alpha and/or Darkstalkers love... -
No, but I've heard that the original Metal Slug is going to be ported to the Game Boy Advance...
-
I'm happy that there's a PC version coming out. Something to think about if I decide to make a MAME cab...

The topic title says it all: there's a new arcade compilation title in the works, and this one features classic Taito titles. http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/9063/Taito-Legends-Announced/ Here's the game list: Battle Shark Bubble Bobble Colony 7 Continental Circus Electric Yo-Yo Elevator Action Exzisus Gladiator Great Swordsman Jungle Hunt New Zealand Story Ninja Kids Operation Thunderbolt Operation Wolf Phoenix Plotting Plump Pop Rainbow Islands Rastan Return of the Invaders Space Gun Space Invaders Space Invaders part II Super Qix Thunderfox Tokio Tube It Volfied Zoo Keeper No Arkanoid, though...

It's out now, but I don't know how hard the $40 price is to swallow... http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/08/23/news_6131750.html

How violent are you when playing games?
ferrarimanf355 replied to Clint Thompson's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I yell and curse at the TV, too, but I've never in my life thrown a controller in anger. Never. -
Would you buy the Xbox 360 core system?
ferrarimanf355 replied to Atarifever's topic in Modern Console Discussion
No, but only because I preordered the $399 pack. -
Reasonable? You should check the forums at teamxbox.com. People are freaking over this. As for me... I'll take the $399 one. No biggie.

spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler I'd give you a hint but right now I'm too busy reading an article about the Vietnam War. It talks about how in 1972, the South was trying to contain the war lords in the North but they kept finding a way to break out. 913180 LOL. I think I know what you're talking about...
