  1. It slides on to the Intellivision controller. I had one in the 80's; but it slips off if you push the joystick too hard, so it was not for me ... besides, I love using the disc. Anyway... that's what he's using.
  2. Sorry Jacob! ...... Delete my photo !!! No problem. I’ll take a third place.
  3. I really like the programming in this one. I can see the speed of the game increases over time; then the speed slightly decreases .... The length of time that the ghosts stay blue changes from quick to long lasting, back to quick.... Sometimes the ghost eyes go straight to the ghost box and other times, the eyes move around a while before getting into the box. The change ups are really refreshing ... it keeps the game from getting boring. Really well done !! There was a ton of thought that went into the programming!
  4. Are you kidding me? Incredible !!!! I thought I was a lock for second place Outrageous !!!
  5. In the end... the Ms Pac-Man players figured out a way to beat it anyway using techniques instead of patterns. Techniques similar to Burgertine. They circle around and around and around until everything lines up then go into 5 or 6 patterns to clear each board. With more circling in between the patterns. It looks similar to the Burgertime patterns (techniques). So instead of having one long path as in the Pac-Man patterns... it’s patterns with techniques. the more I think about it... the less I know whether the programming is more like Pac-Man or Ms. Pac-Man. To be honest... the Intellivision Pac-Man feels more like Lock N Chase than either Pac-Man games. It’s a really compressed maze, and the ghosts have defined tendencies. (With 4 slightly different personalities).
  6. You hear this a LOT ... “Pac-Man is easily beat with patterns”... that’s a misconception. It’s actually the 1 out of 10 million players who learnt the patterns. How many people know the patterns? 50? 100? For a billion people who tried Pac-Man! For the rest of us, it’s still challenging.I was able to do many boards but I didn’t have a pattern to clear the boards. I learnt tendencies. they created Ms. Pac-Man to avoid having those 75 players from learning patterns to beat it. The didn’t want “anyone” to learn patterns to beat it. the patterns are all on the internet; yet only one player per year is being added to the perfect Pac-Man list. So it’s either “too much work” or “who cares” that’s stopping the rest from learning it... so... it’s not that easy to beat Pac-Man with patterns :)
  7. We’ll start the new trend now....... next season, let’s have 50 or 100 participants ! Imagine what that would be like? Mind-blowing!
  8. Ohhhhhh ya! I stand corrected. BurgerTime is the only game that’s actually better on the Intellivision than the arcade! Good call!
  9. LOL !!! You started with a sprint and you’re just on a quick lemonade break!!!
  10. Yes for sure! It does have a Pac-Man feel more than Ms. Pac-Man. The more I think about it...... if someone loves Pac-Man and is a die-hard Intellivision guy (like us guys).... this is a pretty perfect port!!! I mean if you compare it to other ports like Frogger or Donkey Kong or pole position .... there’s no contest... the Pac-Man port is incredible! Obviously the new ports of Donkey Kong and Ms. Pac-Man are works of art more than ports.... but comparing 80’s ports on the Intellivision, this is the best one!
  11. Really Rickster???!??? After the scores you’ve been posting? You’re scaring everyone away!
  12. They also send a ghost to guard that last power pellet, like in Lock N Chase .... so that’s in the program... 100%. And in later levels, when there’s one power pellet left, THREE ghosts b-line to the power pellet to guard it. That doesn’t sound random to me
  13. Yes, I heard that too. I’ll tell you how it feels to me... they don’t have a defined pattern because each ghost can take one out of three decisions at some points. HOWEVER.... they definitely follow tendencies. So in that sense, they’re not random movements... that’s correct. But they don’t follow strict patterns either. That would make the game waaaaaaaaay too easy.
  14. I’ll share my patterns: I go down and clear the tough center dots then to the very bottom. I head right and Take out half of the bottom row and head to the power pellet. I wait for the ghosts to come. I eat the pellet and 2-3 ghosts and head to the prize. After I get the prize it’s tricky. I go where the ghosts ain’t and head to the closest power pellet. I clear as many dots as I can around the power pellet, and eat it at the last second, and eat 2-3 ghosts. I make a straight path that will eat a few dots and get me to the prize again. I eat the prize and again scramble to where the ghosts ain’t. There’s 2 power pellets left. I go to the safest one and eat the power pellet and all the dots I can while heading to the fourth power pellet. I eat the last power pellet and clear as many dots as I can near it. If there’s ghosts near me, I’ll eat them ... but at this point, I’m looking to clear the rest of the dots on the board rather than eating ghosts. There’s fake-outs along the way that I do to hopefully get the ghosts off my tail. It only works sometimes. I got up to 144,000 with this pattern/strategy... in 3 days of play in my life... so I think it’s worthy. Hopefully this helps! If you don’t like this pattern... it may just be personal choice!! Good Luck !!
  15. Hey Matt-Man... Just curious, what system do you play on? You haven’t complained about thumb and finger pain playing this one LOL 😂
  16. Oh cmon guys!!! I’m clearly kidding about feedback! Yes, I have a daughter and I’m getting work whenever I can. we’re in the same boat. This club is really helping me A LOT coping with the stress of Covid. I’ve been secretly including my daughter in the Intellivision play. She just turned 11. Sometimes we’re taking turns on the HSC games. She learnt the steering in auto racing in two days! And got her time down to 4:12 on course 1. I’m thinking she’s doing better than I did when I bought the game!
  17. Luckily I haven’t had much trouble with the orange carriage... so if a dope like me can use it, it was extremely well made. Good to know where the resident expert is !!! Getting back to this Pac-Man game; I’m so proud of myself for doing so well; being that I never played it. I only got two feedback hearts on my last score ... but that’s ok! For anyone new to this game, I have a great tip for you: forget everything you know about arcade Pac-Man. This one is its own animal. Still just as fun but plays very different. I had to unlearn everything I knew to try to get better.
