You weren’t an ATARI fan back then...you weren’t around when ATARI...WAS...video games. I wanted all the ATARI arcade games from the late 1980s & early 1990s on the system...like what was on my ATARI Lynx only PERFECT arcade ports. I wanted Xybots & Vindicators & RoadBlasters & Hard Drivin’/Race Drivin’ & S.T.U.N. Runner & Hydra...etc...on my ATARI Jaguar & was “thinking” they would be there at some point. You people here are like casual ATARI fans...because you weren’t around when ATARI was King.

Ummmm...the people who are paying ATARI to use their name...for their ATARI branded hotels. These hotels are going to have big Game Centers & space for video gaming tournaments...I also think these property developers “think” that families “might” want to stay at a hotel with entertainment included...”maybe” in case of detrimental weather or fun when NOT doing what they are in the area for...BUT...also “maybe” for the “novelty”...as well...”maybe”.

Nope. Kind of strange to me...guess Mattel has a lot of blank RFID cards taking up space in some warehouse. Win/Win for everyone...I guess?
-
I LOVE my ATARI Jaguar...then & now. You obviously didn’t get to play...at release...Alien vs. Predator...Tempest 2000...Defender 2000...DOOM(first console with DOOM)...Iron Soldier...Iron Soldier II...Hover Strike...Battlemorph...Missile Command 3D...Breakout 2000...etc...sad. Also...why the ATARI hate? When did ATARI hurt you so bad? And I liked/like Cybermorph...finished it...the later stage Bosses were very cool at the time & Fight For Life...finished it as well...cool storyline...cool Bosses...cool moves...sue me.

Why do you think there’s a “buzz” around TT’s system? It seems to me...everyone who had Mattel’s “1” console in the 1980s is making YouTube videos about it...like around 10-20 diehards and then a few thousand(being very generous) following its progress. TT wants to advertise it in AARP & Good Housekeeping...yeah...maybe there will be “buzz” after those campaigns start. Also...there IS a connection with Mattel’s HyperScan...it’s called RFID cards.

You do know that this is a licensing deal...it is just money for ATARI without any risk. ATARI already received an initial upfront payment and will get a percentage of revenues generated by the ATARI branded hotels. “If” those hotels never happen...ATARI is out ZERO dollars.

Yeah...it’s all in perspective...I have home stereo components bought in the early 1990s that are double this amount of money...my CD player is one of the best ever made...dbx DX-5...cassette deck...Yamaha KX-1200...my USA made(USA speakers were the best) JBL speakers...it was ALWAYS said...spend the MOST on your speakers. My ATARI Jaguar was $249 in early 1994...so yeah...2020...$300-$400 is huge money. And I bought my ATARI Jaguar-CD in (late 1995?) early 1996...for $99(I “might” have paid $149...should go look at the box)...so...$348($398) for my ATARI Jaguar+CD in the mid-1990s...wow. And the games were $50-$70 each...amazing that I started my IRA in 1995 and converted it to a Roth IRA...tax free compounding interest...whodathunkit.

There’s a person who brought up the fact that ATARI missed the 16-bit home console era...when they just had their 16-bit Lynx handheld. He says that ATARI should have released the Panther to one up everyone earlier and with it being a home console as well...it would have kept ATARI in the home console market and allowed more development time for the Jaguar. Also...the 7800 should have been released in 1984...not 1986...but now I know about the legal dealings that caused this to happen...who was to pay for the design work on the system. Really...if ATARI was not sold separately...1 buyer kept both home & arcade divisions together and kept most of the plans intact...it would be a completely different story. But we are here now... hey...I don’t believe Mattel’s last system did very well...the HyperScan or their one & only computer...and their “1” Intellivision system is 35 years removed instead of “just” 25 years. It is what it is.

Yeah...I have been tempted to get a few titles over the years...Rebooteroids being the one I probably want the most. That Robotron: 2084 for the 2600 also looks amazing for that system. One title that I have wanted since pretty much first buying my ATARI Jaguar in early 1994 is that BattleSphere...multi-player Star Raiders/Phaser Patrol...free-roam space battle game. I remember reading about that in EGM and waiting & waiting & waiting and then it gets a limited run release & didn’t know about it...bummer.

I play a lot of mobile games right now...so ATARI’s system putting many of them on my living room big screen with good controllers is part of its appeal to me. Also...I have as close to a big screen CRT that you can get...Plasma-TV...that is non-Smart...so my ATARI VCS-800 will be my HTPC as well. Also, going to use it to stream music through my main home stereo which is just so much better sounding than even my very good JBL soundbar.

Where are your numbers for TT’s system? ATARI has been taking pre-orders at BOTH Walmart & GameStop...I kind of think you are speculating that TT’s system has more pre-orders...you don’t have the exact figures.

Hopefully you’ll be “ok” if I’m not interested in the least about that Mattel system...hopefully.
