Tommy, what are the exclusive features in the Evil Knievel game that aren't in the mobile version?

I really wish they kept the name Ataribox. Now when people say, "Atari VCS," they'll be like, "Which one?" It's like calling the third Xbox the Xbox One, lol.

Still, good for them. I wouldn't mind being a few million dollars richer either, from the low bar I'm at right now.
Hardware & clothes yes, but I've not seen any evidence that they have even managed to produce any kind of income generating film or TV show. They've got some licensing to throw stuff like Centipede into Pixels some years ago, but the game show they did was barely shown in Europe (and they were sued by contestants who never received the cash they won). The Nolan Bushnell movie, as well as the Asteroids and Missile Command movies never happened. Even if an old Atari game was turned into a big Hollywood film, expecting any Atari IP to have the same success as Sonic The Hedgehog or Mortal Kombat though would be prime Rose-Colored Glasses. That's likely why they didn't happen - who wants to take the multi-million dollar risk on turning a game that only old dudes like us remember, into a big movie? A few people around here might go and see a movie about the Atari logo, but that would probably make as much as any recent Shia LaBeouf film.
On hardware though, manufacturing & supporting hardware is a very expensive endeavor and it can easily bankrupt the company depending on how it's handled. They've already burned through their IGG
beggar's potdonations, so they'll need sales to keep the VCS - and the company - going. Yes, Atari has momentary advantages in the licensing stuff, but without anything truly successful in raising or reinvigorating the brand, that stuff will eventually peter out while mediocre hardware endeavors that the general public doesn't care about will drag things down further. It also doesn't help that this current bunch has done plenty to ruin their brand among many of us that should be their strongest supporters too.Could the new guy figure things out and keep the expansion going? Sure. He has his work cut out for him though.
They should make Pong: The Movie. If they could make the Battleship and Emoji movies they could make it, lol. (Albeit those were flops.)
EDIT: In all seriousness, Asteroids: The Movie might do better. Might fill a void in the market now that everyone's hating what Star Wars has turned into, lol.

Hi. The spacebar came off of my C64 Maxi and I broke one of the two springs. I'm completely clueless, please help, lol.
Thanks,

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide you with this information at the moment. As soon as it becomes available to us we will get in touch with you.
As soon as it becomes available?... Did they lose piece of paper the password was scribbled on? Frustrating to say the least.Lol, like the support guys have anything to do with the engineers.

On 1/7/2021 at 7:29 PM, Mockduck said:I have been thinking about exclusives. There really aren't many, and those that are probably will not remain exclusive for long. That's probably how it should be. We aren't talking Sony funding Naughty Dog for their next game, we're talking a couple of people making a thing, and anyone who thinks exclusive is good for that is just wrong. These devs should absolutely also be releasing their games to other platforms, and there is nothing at all wrong with that.
So, I kinda hate the whole "exclusive" debate as it is more about winning fantasy forum arguments than anything of actual value. BUT, sure, I will add an asterisk which will officially mean:
* This game was exclusive to the new Atari VCS at the time of its debut in the VCS Store.Trying to keep track of when things are no longer exclusive and what counts as exclusive other than the above statement is something I have no interest in doing work related to. If someone wants to maintain that for accuracy, be my guest and I'll just copy your work into the document.
The problem is good exclusives are what differentiates a console from its competitors. It's why the VCS and the Amico could use more IMO. Most of the Amico's true exclusives are remakes, but at least that's something IMO.

I'm meh on the game, I just wish there were more Wii-like games like it on the system. Could say the same thing about the Switch, though the new Mario Golf looks cool.

Hey, Tommy, do you think y'all could make a shirt that has the rebel guy, says rebel, AND says Intellivision? I think that would be great! Thanks, M260.

"Hot Wheels goes digital with smart tracks and NFC cars, exclusively at Apple Stores. Hot Wheels id vehicles can be scanned into an app for kids to track speeds and stats."Maybe or maybe not related to the Amico (I have no idea):
https://www.theverge.com/2019/6/14/18679341/hot-wheels-id-race-portal-vehicles-smart-track-apple-storesThat would be pretty cool if the Amico game could support that!

i played it last night on the C64 emu for the 1st time in 30 years and man what a great game that is
and i read someplace that the author Randy Glover has the rights to it so it would be pretty easy to get it on the Amico
I've been playing a lot of Gateway to Apshai on the C64 Maxi, barely any Jumpan, though, although it is included on it.
G2A has been pretty fun, though!

So, supposedly this site is selling Amico units for the end of the month: https://www.board-game.co.uk/product/intellivision-amico/ How is that possible if it's not out 'till April? Is it a legit site?

12 hours ago, [email protected] said:The perfect example why intellivision Amico will be great. People are sick of games being unfinished (Cyberpunk 2077) and glitches out. Amico won't have that all the games will be finished from day one. Another thing is the graphics aren't the beSt. Well with Amico the graphics don't matter. Most of the games will be in a cartoon fashion and will look grate as of that. So no one will judge the game for graphic as they do now with Ps5 and Series X. So all and all the Amico will be great for this reason. It will have good games on day one and they will all be finished. People just need to learn to have fun again!!
You haven't even played the Amico yet, how do you know there won't be bugs?
16 hours ago, Matt-H06 said:Reason #1) Because they hate. If something's isn't your bag of tea, move on to something that is.
TBH I think the problem there are a lot more people who are ambivalent to the Amico or haven't heard of it than there are people who, "hate," it.

On 12/2/2020 at 10:04 PM, Intellivision Master said:Some just want to complain the price is too high for Amico. I say wait for a sale then. I don't think it's that bad. I pre-ordered the FE and that costs more. But you get a lot of nice perks with the FE. I remember when the Nintendo Wii released at $250. I bought it a year later at the same price and paid for it in cash. I was fine with the $250 and I really enjoyed the Wii. The Wii U not so much, lol.
IMO, the Wii U is an underrated system. I've long since moved my Wii saves, Virtual Console games, and WiiWare games to it, and it's great being able to play them in HD. Plus I even get Virtual Console games that weren't on the original Wii like the Earthbound games. I also have downloaded Wii Fit U and it's great how I was able to move my Wii Fit progress to it. My Wii's disc slot is dying, so I'm currently lending my cousins', and I do in fact still use the original Wii. Mainly to play Gamecube games but also to be able to use Wii homebrew that affects Gamecube games like the memory card dumper or the Action Replay Gamecube as the two actual disks I had for it got very scratched years ago but I still have the Action Replay memory cards which, being third party memory cards, works with the plain software regardless. I even still use my Gamecube for the Gameboy Player. So, all in all, I like most things Nintendo does lol.

Same reason people are buying any new video game system, because they want something new and/or different. And it’s very different if you speak of a parent that buys a video game for their children, or a non gamer parent that buys it to play with their children (and/or other family members), that’s where I personally think that Amico are in a different league compared to any other system.
Yeah, I don't get what he's saying either. Parents these days usually get kids Switches, not Wiis, much less so PS3s.

Yes. It will be on Amazon U.S. Not sure about shipping to Israel. I'll need to ask our sales folks about that. We'll be all over Europe as well though (including online), so if UK doesn't ship... maybe countries in Europe do?Okay, thank you! :D

Hey, Tommy, I was just wondering: Will the Amico be available on Amazon US, and if so, will it ship to Israel? For some reason, Amazon UK almost never ships here.

My hunch is the Amico will probably end up doing better with the retro hobbyist market than the intended casual market. Just a hunch, though.

33 minutes ago, youxia said:I don't think all these price comparisons vs Switch make much sense atm. Switch's prices are inflated due to Covid and when Amico is finally released they will be much lower than now.
Overall, my main problem with this console is the lack of character. The bland design is one thing, it's a matter of taste though, worse is the fact that I had a (admittedly brief) look at the games, and with the exception of Breakout they all look like zillion other titles already available on smartphones, PCs or consoles. Just some very generic 2D and basic 3D titles, I don't get any "retro" vibe from them at all. And as for family-oriented gaming, I do it already using real retro multiplayer games.
I suppose it still might sell some units, maybe even do reasonably well, because people like new gadgets and it seems to have substantial support, much better than the farce which is the VCS. Though 250$ really is a bit of an ask for this kind of device - 199$ would look much better. It's just that I can't see anything I'd be interested in here.
Honestly, I'd say the Amico should be more like $50 IMO. The Ouya couldn't even sell at $100. The NES Classic was a success, though, at $60. Also, you can get Intellivision games in a lot of places for pretty cheap TBH. The Amico games are remakes and hopefully will have some of the licensed games the previous collections couldn't have, which gives it some value for me if nobody else. But, yeah, the Wii sold well cuz $250 was cheap in comparison to the competition, but it was the next main console made by one of the three current major console manufacturers and had a controller that works the way humans work.
Also, I cringed when Tommy talked about Sesame Street like it's some great IP. (Yeah, I know it's for preschoolers.) But, overall, though, I hope the Amico games end up being good, because in the end that's what matters the most for it to be looked back on fondly. I like how in the original Dungeons & Dragons you couldn't see where you were going, so in the new one they have the path obscured by shadow. Night Stalker seems like it'll be a fun game to play with friends. I do hope this system does well, because more competition is always a good thing.

If I remember correctly now that you reminded me, three of the games I'm interested in are included, namely, Astrosmash, Shark Shark, and Skiing, right? Oh, wait, I forgot to mention Night Stalker lol.

Anyone concerned Hot Wheels Unleashed is getting a lot more press than the Amico game?
